I live in Nashville and make it a point to drive down to franklin to visit this store. i have had nothing but fantastic service and was treated with respect. I think we all need to realize every business has good and bad days, but this once upon a child in particular is always clean, has a great selection, and great customer service. more

The Staff is always very helpful. I am always amazed at the deals I find. This time it was Abercrombie Pants. more

I am not sure what MaryKatherine C's experience was all about, but I started going to Once Upon a Child about a month ago. I shop there as well as sell my 4 kids' clothes. The customer service is always outstanding every time I go in there. If I am looking for something, one of the employees always helps me look for it instead of just telling me where to find it. I live near one of the other Once Upon A Child stores. In fact within 3 miles of it. I prefer to drive to the Once Upon a child in franklin just for the customer service. Being a single mom I am on a budget, so most of the closthes I buy my kids are not top name brand. Every time I bring my clothes to the franklin store they buy them. They do give me back some things but alwways tell my why. I have been told it is because they have a stain or not the season they want. I am always ok with that. I don't want to buy things for my kids that have stains on them. why would i want someone else to buy my kids stained clothes. even if it is a stain i didn't really see when i brought the clothes in. i just bought a winter coat for my 10 year old that was 8 dollars. i am very happy with their prices. SHopping for 4 kids I have picked through the clothes and have found name brand and low brand things. The workers there are always smiling and talking to me when I check out. In the month i shopped there nobody has ever been rude to me. I tell everyone about this new store and tell them to go there. I wish there bow prices were a little lower so I could buy more for my 2 girls tho. that is the only thing for me. more

Super rude, poor selection- I recently took some of my step childrens clothes in. Im not unrealistic about how much I should get for used clothes. I used to work at a consignmemnt store. They are incredibly rude, zero customer service skills. They act as if they are doing you a favor by giving you .50 for a winter coat in good condition. I brought in some very nice boys items, which they never take any of, simply because they aren't GAP or Polo. I would rather my son look great in a shirt from Target that looks brand new, opposed to one from the GAP that is totally faded out. The boys selection there needs serious help. Please stop only taking items that are GAP and Polo and do us all a favor, check the wear and tear on the items your taking. Most of us shopping at consignment don't care about the tags. more

Overpriced items and poor customer service. 3/30/2012

As a consigner you would expect good treatment when dropping off clothing that adhers to the policy of the establishment. Of all of the times I have consigned there they have rarely accepted my clean, pressed, barely used toys & clothing. Although, when I do purchase clothing there I find many items that are faded, stained, and plain outdated while shopping for the quality items that their own policy prohibits. Places like these are only good when they have more compettition and in an area with very few consignments stores they can set the prices higher than other consignment stores. If you really want a deal there are some great clothes swap websites like thredup or come to one of the many excellent consignment sales in the area. more

Disappointing customer service 3/21/2012

I sold a rather large amount of children's clothes to this place recently. I was very disappointed with the lack of friendliness, warmth and helpfulness that the employees exhibited both on the phone and in the store from the beginning of my experience to the end. It seems to me that when there is one grown woman and two grown young men working the front, that someone, especially, one of the young men, would have offered to help me carry a rather large tub back out to my car. I don't think I will return. This is too bad considering the potential this place could have with good customer service. more

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THESE PEOPLE!!! 9/18/2011

Don't waste your time dealing with these people. They have no customer service skills and it appears they have a disorganized way of accepting and rejecting items. You would experience more joy by donating them to a Women's Shelter. I am certain that I will not go back to this store nor recommend it to anyone. Beware!!!!!!!!!!!! more

Don't Shop Here 7/6/2011

I normally don't take the time to write reviews but people need a major lesson in customer service. This is a BABY store, you know happy times!! Well I wish I had read the recent reviews because I would have went somewhere else! Save your money! more

Still needs attitude adjustment 1/17/2010

I don't know but when you are employed in retail, I just think you should act like you might enjoy waiting on customers...or at least pretend like you do. Always made to feel I'm a bother. So, I'll just take my bothersome money somewhere else. Pros: Convenient Cons: Staff more

Rude and hateful 11/21/2009

I read the reviews about Once Upon a Child years ago and then, they were mostly unfavorable. I shopped there and consigned dozens of items there despite the poor reviews. Over the years, I have encountered a rude employee or two while there, but I am not the type to complain, so I just dismissed it. I CAN NO LONGER dismiss the fact that I was treated so poorly at Once Upon a Child in Franklin. I spend about $800-$1000 a year at Once Upon a Child in Franklin and I have 4 children. I will never, never set foot in their store after the way I was told that they could not hold my bin of items even long enough to let me shop to consign as they didn't have room. They are a consignment store and they have stiff competition in Franklin, TN. Then, I asked to exchange a pair of jeans that I purchased for my daughter that she had not worn because they had been hemmed by the previous owner and were too short. I was told that I could not even exchange them because I did not have a receipt. The manager, LuLu- or however you spell it- gave me the rudest look and pointed to their policy sign. I'm all for policy, but if you are going to ruin a sale, then I think that you should find a way to make the transaction work. Good Luck Once Upon a Child in Franklin, TN in finding 3-4 regular clients to replace a family with 4 children to clothe. Cons: horrible customer service more

Bad customer service, bad prices 10/14/2009

I have been there a handful of times and I have not had a good experience. I brought in maternity clothes to sell, left them there, came back in about 1 hour, and they not only gave me a terrible price, but they lost the bottoms to a Mimi Maternity bathing suit (expensive and only used once) and just said to me, ""Sorry, can't find it"". How in the world can you lose it in 1 hr! And then did nothing to make it up to me! They should have given me something considering you can do nothing with a one piece tankini! Also wanted to give me pennies on the dollar for my baby furniture. I was appauled at their offer, left the store and sold it for 4 times the price through craigslist! Owners are always short tempered and rude in every case when I have been in there. I don't recommend supporting them. more

New and Used Store for Baby 5/4/2009

I recently visited the store and was very impressed with the custom bedding lines that were available in the store. I have been to every baby store in Nashville and have seen nothing that compared with the fabric choices and combinations available. They also carry a wide range of other bedding lines in addition to the custom line such as Glenna Jean, Banana Fish (their lower price point) and a few others. The owner waited on me and she was very knowledgeable and very helpful. I will go back! Pros: Friendly and helpful staff more

consignment prices--you'll get the consignment service as well 10/13/2008

Before driving the 35 minute one-way trip to Franklin, I called to inqure about the availability of gliders that this store carries. Shelly, the owner, was quite rude and said that she did not have time to answer my question. She must have felt remorseful about the way that she treated me because she called me back with a much friendler tone later that day. She confirmed that they did indeed sell gliders, and she told me that they were open Monday-Friday until 7pm. I drove the 35 minute one-way trip on a Wednesday night to arrive at 5:55. A sales associate greeted me by saying, ""Are you here to shop? We are closing in 3 minutes"" (In retrospect, I should have responded that I had come to order a pizza.) They close at 6pm on Wednesday instead of 7pm which Shelly failed to mention. I left the store and traveled back again the following week. I asked a specific question about one of the floor model gliders, and another sales associate said, ""I can find that out only if you are really serious about buying it."" Then she asked my child not to sit in a glider, even though I was considering purchasing it. It was a floor model with a ripped and stained slipcover which I was considering having re-upholstered. I left without a purchase, and I do not plan to return. Pros: can't think of any Cons: rude and unhelpful staff members (including owner) more
