Horrible Office 5/14/2012

Dr. Ohlsen's office is disgusting. I used to work there and, let me start off by saying they have no respect for HIPPA privacy nor the patients that are seen. They read the reviews left on this site and similar, and they LAUGH at the patients behind their backs! So, if you want people snickering at you, a condescending and bitter atmosphere, and just overall a horrible office experience - then by all means: come to Cassandra Ohlsen's office!! more

Excellent, caring physician 3/25/2011

Dr. Ohlsen has been my primary physician for the past two years. Up until now I have never experienced a doctor who has taken so much time to listen to my concerns and encouraged me to work as a partner with her in my care. She is thorough and complete in her assessments, diagnoses and treatment. Her caring philosophy is evidenced in all areas of her office from the calming atmosphere of the waiting room to the professional manner of the staff. This is truly a professionally run practice on so many levels that confirms to me that I have placed my healthcare in very caring, competent hands. more

Horrible Method of Follow-up 6/5/2010

I was diagnosed with borderline high blood pressure and Dr. Ohlsen was recommended as someone I should see. So I did. the first visit was okay..she was very fast and seemed to be in a rush but I got through it with the information I needed. Then next time I was to see her I had had a horrible fall the week before so I canceled the appointment. I rescheduled after a month and she had many tests ordered for me. I did them and called to schedule a follow up to get the test results. I came in..and the office always requests payment BEFORE I see the doctor which I think is strange..to pay before I even see the doctor seemed unethical but I paid it. I got in the room and she says that most of the test results are not in and that we have to reschedule. I do but now I don't have a good feeling about the whole thing. Why did I have to come in if the results were not ready? My appointment was coming up and I just could not afford the co-pay so I called to talk to her over the phone since I had just been in 2 weeks before. I was told no that she would not talk to me and that I had to come in to get the results...needless to say I canceled the appointment. Now...just last week (May 26th 2010) I get a call from her office and they want to schedule an appointment to discuss my test results. Now these results are almost 8 months old and so I refuse to come in. It took her almost a year to follow up on my phone call. A lot can change in 8 months and I did not like the fact that she refused to talk to me on the phone. A week after I told the office staff that I was not coming in I received a certified letter with four sentences...""This letter is to inform you that I am withdrawing from providing your medical care. Please retain a new physician within 14 days. If you do not have a name of another physician, you can contact the Monterey County Medical Society for suggestions."" The nerve! I had already told her I was not coming back and the reasons why...does it look better for her to label me the problem? I do not recommend this office nor do I recommend her services. I would love to have at least my $35.00 co-pay back but that is not the point. Pros: Friendly Staff Cons: Co-pay up front and no follow through more

Excellent Health Care 6/4/2009

I found the office staff to be extremely nice. I thought Dr. Ohlsen was outstanding. She listened to me, understood my situation and medical needs, and prescribed the appropriate care. I highly recommend her to anyone in need of a doctor that will listen to your issues and provide the appropriate care. Pros: Very helpful and attentive to my needs more

OK Doc if you don't mind poor office treatment 5/11/2009

Dr Ohlsen's office staff is unhelpful, rude, and negates the idea of ""customer service"". It is obvious that Ohlsen has more patients than she needs since the poor reception attitude and treatment can only exist because the doctor condones it. It is fortunate for her that she can afford to lose those patients she lets her office staff alienate. more

Fantastic Doctor! 3/16/2009

Dr. Ohlsen has been my doctor for about 5 years. She is often not taking new patients because she is in demand. A very smart, thorough, kind and medically sound physician who is not afraid to network with other physicians. She has gone through some changes in her front office staff, although they were always helpful to me. Pros: Smart, thorough, kind Cons: Sometimes hard to get an appointment quickly more

Excellent medical judgment; compassionate; professional; HIGHLY RECOMMENDED 6/6/2007

I've seen my fair share of physicians and I can say for certain that Dr. Cassandra Ohlsen is simply a first-rate (Board Certified no less) practitioner that has stood out as one of the best physicians I've had in the past decade plus. \r \r The biggest fact that stood out when visiting Dr. Ohlsen was the genuine care and concern she had for me. Frankly, this just stunned me as I've been so used to doctors more concerned with moving people in-and-out as fast as possible to boost the bottom line. No so with Dr. Ohlsen. \r \r Most importantly though, is how very THOROUGH she was with me and understanding my full medical history before recommending any treatment options. Similarly, her medical training really shows as you can just tell she keeps up on the literature (I'm a health care attorney...and no, she has no idea of that fact...and have had more than my fair share of evaluating the quality of physicians).\r \r In sum, you're in good hands. more

Vindictive office staff!!! 5/3/2007

I made a mistake. \r I was unable to cancel a first time appointment. I called the next day to sincerely send my apologies for not calling as it was very unprofessional of me. The receptionist said "" well things happen."" I asked politely if there was still a chance she would take me, and the receptionist said yes,and gave me a time and date. She called to confirm the day before, and we were a 'go'. Two hours later she called back and asked if I was the one who no-showed the week before, to which I said yes. She explained she would have to talk to Dr. Ohlsen about it because they have a policy about that. I gave her Two phone numbers to cal back and let me know. She never called.\r I came in the next day at the appoinment time, the receptionist says, ""Oh,She's not going to see you.""\r I asked why she didnt call. She just glared at me.\r Take you personal health elsewhere people! No one needs a catty-vindictive and down right mean office staff to deal with. I guess there is a reason she dosnt have very many patients.\r \r Cons: you name it! more
