Review content:
I was diagnosed with borderline high blood pressure and Dr. Ohlsen was recommended as someone I should see. So I did. the first visit was okay..she was very fast and seemed to be in a rush but I got through it with the information I needed. Then next time I was to see her I had had a horrible fall the week before so I canceled the appointment. I rescheduled after a month and she had many tests ordered for me. I did them and called to schedule a follow up to get the test results. I came in..and the office always requests payment BEFORE I see the doctor which I think is strange..to pay before I even see the doctor seemed unethical but I paid it. I got in the room and she says that most of the test results are not in and that we have to reschedule. I do but now I don't have a good feeling about the whole thing. Why did I have to come in if the results were not ready? My appointment was coming up and I just could not afford the co-pay so I called to talk to her over the phone since I had just been in 2 weeks before. I was told no that she would not talk to me and that I had to come in to get the results...needless to say I canceled the appointment. Now...just last week (May 26th 2010) I get a call from her office and they want to schedule an appointment to discuss my test results. Now these results are almost 8 months old and so I refuse to come in. It took her almost a year to follow up on my phone call. A lot can change in 8 months and I did not like the fact that she refused to talk to me on the phone. A week after I told the office staff that I was not coming in I received a certified letter with four sentences...""This letter is to inform you that I am withdrawing from providing your medical care. Please retain a new physician within 14 days. If you do not have a name of another physician, you can contact the Monterey County Medical Society for suggestions."" The nerve! I had already told her I was not coming back and the reasons why...does it look better for her to label me the problem? I do not recommend this office nor do I recommend her services. I would love to have at least my $35.00 co-pay back but that is not the point. Pros: Friendly Staff Cons: Co-pay up front and no follow through
