Best

Great food, arrived very quickly.

After living in Thailand, I returned in quest of good Thai food. I tried OSHA based on a recommendation. It took some effort to get to - no parking & in an icky area of town. ...

Clean, Cheap, TASTY 4/23/2007

Osha Thai is amazing. They have fabulous food, are open incredibly late and conveniently located. I like the atmosphere. Everyone always seems to be enjoying themselves. The boothes are a little uncomfy, but I know they must be soooo much easier to clean. (I worked as a restaurant manager for 2 years.) I have never been seated at a "dirty" table. You know the ones with someone elses rice on it, or rings from others cups. Its clean, fast, friendly, and above all extremely tasty. The only thing that really bothers me, they take FOREVER to bring you the check. But they are generally pretty busy, and all you have to do is stop ANY of the staff and ask for it. The check generally arrives about .30 seconds later. Overall, great place to relax with friends. more

Best Thai food and fast service/ugliest, most uncomfortable restaurant in town 4/2/2007

This place used to be known for its cute and friendly waitstaff. No more. This is the most sullen group of Thai people I?ve ever seen. Normally, I would just shrug, but some genius decided to replace the comfortable diner style booths with HARD wide wooden black benches and narrow tables. It?s torture sitting on those things more than five minutes and you?d be lucky to fit more than 3 dishes on the tables they?re so tiny. I would say walking into Osha Thai Noodle is like walking into a funeral parlor, but that would be an unfair insult to funeral parlors. Before, it was a funky, informal, comfortable place to eat?now it?s one of the most depressing, ugly restaurants in San Francisco. To me, this is a tragedy, because Osha Thai Noodle also has the best Thai food in SF. What?s superb: duck noodles, pad thai, pad see ew, Osha Sea, pineapple fried rice, Chiang Mai style fried sausage (I?ve never seen it on any other Thai menu in the States), shrimp paste fried rice, but in truth, I?ve never had a bad meal here. That is the one thing that hasn?t changed and the reason I force myself to go every six months or so (I used to go at least twice a week). Also, the service is still speedy, even if ice cold. Memo to the owners of Thai Osha Noodle: replace the black wooden coffin furniture with comfortable booths before you run off the rest of your customers. And while you?re at it, try to hire servers that are at least as friendly as the average American. Pros: Great food, fast service Cons: Depressing ambience, grim waitstaff, horribly uncomfortable furniture more

Great food, horrible service 11/10/2006

Everything we ate at Osha was amazing - it just took forever for them to come take our order. Once we did, the food came very quickly and was extremely tasty. We shared a salad, a noodle soup, a curry, and a fried rice and everything was delicious. All that plus a beer for just under $40 - a great deal. We will definitely go back, just not when we are starving since it took some time for a table to free up and then that extended wait once we were seated before we could order. Pros: The food!! Cons: The service more

The end to a late night 11/1/2006

I've recently turned my BF on to this place. I went here for the first time last year with a group of friends after a late night out. We got there around 1am-ish on a Sat nite and were seated pretty promptly, we ordered, and our food came out in no time. By 2am-ish the place started to get packed - - packed with people coming from the bars and clubs. So recently me and my BF stop by and share the crab fried rice (soooooo good) and their thai sausages (spicy) after a night of drinking and dancing. The few times we've been here we've had to wait, but that's because we didn't time it right. It's obviously good to get there before 1:30am to beat the crowds! Pros: Decent thai food Cons: Parking, long wait at times more

SF's Thai Gem! 10/26/2006

Ok so it may not be the cleanest restaurants around, but the food at Osha is absolutely fabulous! My faves include the crab fried rice, spicy string beans with your choice of meat (personal preference is pork), and Osha sea. Doesn't hurt that the service is quick and the prices are cheap! Parking is difficult to find though but hey, it's the same anywhere in the SF downtown-ish area so no biggie. Pros: cheap food, open late, fast service Cons: parking, dirty restroom more

Yummy in the Tummy! 9/25/2006

Osha is so good. I cannot get enough of it. Too bad that parking is horrible or elsewhere I would go there until I'm sick of it. I love their crab fried rice. That is my favorite because it's not as good elsewhere. Their pineapple fried rice is good too. Their noodles are also good. Everything is good so you just gotta try it. They don't take reservations so if you go during the busy hours, you'll probably have to wait a while. Cons: parking more

Love the Late Night? 8/1/2006

I was only introduced to this place a few months ago, but I've definitely become a fan quickly. This place has been a haven many times on late nights. There are few late night restaurants that I really enjoy... I mean, sure there's Mel's Drive In not that far away, but Osha's service and food is way better. And you know the late night crowd loves this place because so many people arrive right after the 2AM cut off. You might have to wait for a table, but it's never more than 15 minutes. This places turns tables pretty fast. If you go, try any of the curries or noodles, they're delish! Pros: Easy late night parking, good late night eats Cons: Might have to wait for a table more

Late night noodles 7/19/2006

What a graet idea; spicy noodles or rice and just the right amount of deep-fried goodness served well after the bars close. Sure, I'd probably die of heart disease within six months would that I chose to eat like this daily, but Osha is a great budget place indulge in salty, oily foods post-bar. Pros: Open late, quick and tasty Cons: Often loud, don't always "course-out" orders more

MMMMM Yummy! 11/2/2005

There is nothing else to say, this Restaurant is AWESOME! The only time I got a dish which was different from #71 (Fried Sauteed Garlic Beef W/Rice), was my first time going there back in 2000. Other than that I've been to Osha countless times & I still order the Garlic Beef, this is the Best Thai Restautrant in SF. Pros: Variety, Food, Fast Service Cons: Space more
