I have seen Tim and Dawn Westvelds house, it is very beautiful as I would expect coming from Steve Nyhof. Dawn says the outside of the house looks great, which makes you think the inside is not. Yet the inside is very smartly designed, open and functional. When Dawn says ""He told us"", she is not talking about Steve, but one of his workers. I can't help but think that Dawn just has some real issues she needs to deal with because she is way out of line about everything she said. ""Inability to listen""? Steve is extremely efficient and creative and offers great ideas, he is listening, but his mind is working at the same time knowing that his clients don't always know what is best for them. And price... Dawn, go check out anyone else, or are you just saying things without checking prices from any other Architect? Steve is a third of the cost I have found anywhere for his caliber of talent. He is a builder and understands structure better than most Architects and designers. From the reviews I'm seeing written here, Dawn, I don't think you're looking too good. If you're looking for talent at a great price, than Steve is the man to call. Initially I was somewhat apprehensive about working with an designer in creating my ""dream home"", but Steve Nyhof or Steve Nyhof Enterprises, Inc. truly made the process of designing and implementing my house plans an exciting and easy one for me. Watching the daily updates via the internet proved to be a source of enjoyment for me as well. Steve was so willing to listen to my concerns and if there was ever anything I wanted changed, e-mailing him resulted in almost immediate revisions. \r \r He not only implemented my ideas, but made professional suggestions he deemed necessary. The ability to review the changes on line, not to mention all the time I saved by not having to commute to his office, proved to be an important aspect of working with Steve as well. Now I have the perfect plans down to the smallest detail. Steve and his staff were very prompt, dependable, knowledgeable, and extremely professional in the development of my ""dream home"". \r \r I would highly recommend his design firm to anyone who might be inquiring about his services. It was a difficult process choosing someone to design our house. I really wanted to make sure that we went to someone who could see our vision and have a good understanding of our style. When I met with Steve Nyhof to talk to about designing our home, I knew that we had to have him design it! I felt completely at ease having Steve design our plan, even though we were unclear of exactly what we wanted. Steve provided ideas that fit perfectly. I really felt that he genuinely took interest in the plan. He spent so much time meeting with me (and my mom!), emailing and returning my phone calls to answer every question I had.\r \r Steve Nyhof definitely has an eye for true design. Thank you to all the other clients who have come along side me to prove Tim Westveld's wife was mistaken. I never did meet with Tim or his wife. They met with my employee who is no longer with the company. I never knew of a complaint or issue. I am human and make mistakes, but I am all about service and making sure things are made right. The outside of the house looks great. Designer was unprofessional, did not follow the requests we made, and was slow. He told us it would be a three week process from start to finish and we are currently going on week six, due to his lack of communication and ability to complete work on time within the time schedules he made. We have only made changes once, mostly because of his inability to listen; this should take six weeks.
