WORSE NAIL SALON! DO NOT GO HERE!!! 12/3/2011

I live in CT and I visit my grandma very frequently. When I come down here we sometimes get our nails done. I've been to this place twice. The first time I was extremely dissatisfied with the service and now today the second time WE WILL NEVER BE BACK! Both times I sat down a few minutes after my grandma because I was selecting my polish color and both times I finished before her. How that makes sense I have no idea. The first time we went the employees were to busy gossiping about their boss which was annoying because they weren't paying attention to what they were doing. The second time we went I told the ladies that were working on my feet, my grandma's, and my boyfriends that we would all like the reflexology. Well, I was to busy watching the time because I felt like they were going to make it shorter than the 15 min so I couldn't enjoy it. Furthermore, they spent more time massaging my legs rather than my feet. Then I noticed that my grandma and my boyfriend got oil and lotion, so I asked for the oil too. We'll apparently the woman doing my feet was annoyed by that because she gave me a dirty look and tried talking me out of it. Then after the massage was done they got the warm towels (which seemed to be dirty) and put them on our legs which were also burning hot. After everything was finished she asked for us to pay and assumed that my grandma would be paying the bill. I said that I was paying and she looked surprised, considering I'm 25 and look much younger she probably thought that I couldn't afford everything. Having realized I was paying she looked discussed knowing now she had screwed up. Giving everyone awful service (which is the norm here) and more so me in particular, she knew she was going to get a poor tip. I told my grandma that she will never be going back to this place again, but instead a more well deserving nail salon somewhere else. I highly recommend that NO ONE SHOULD GO TO THIS PLACE! They don't even have a place to dry your nails, we had to sit there in the pedicure chair waiting for our toes to dry. Then when I mentioned to my boyfriend who was sitting next to me that we will never be going back, a male employee was trying to ease drop on our conversation, then he tried being nonchalant like he was prying in. He then continued to make a fool of himself by leaning over to drink out of a cup that was empty when my boyfriend looked at him. Moreover, as we waited for our nails to dry we were very rudely encouraged to leave several times by multiple employees. This place is filled with employees that would rather gossip about each other and their customers, talk and text on their phones, and treat their customers with utter disrespect. If you want to get your nails done I suggest you take your money elsewhere. They don't deserve to have their name to be called New York Nails. You would get better service and quality in a New York alleyway from a hobo who has never done nails in their life. Save TIME, MONEY, AND FRUSTRATION by helping to shut down this monstrosity. more

DO NOT GO HERE!!!! 10/6/2011

I would give this place zero stars if that was an option. I went here for the first time on Monday, October 3rd. I asked for a shellac manicure which I was told they could do. The nail tech was very friendly and when she started to do my shellac manicure, it was different from what I've had previously. I questioned her and she told me it was same thing, just different brand and that it was much better for nails and longer lasting. Since I know nothing about nails, didn't questions her and said okay. I got a french manicure, and she did a terrible job on the lines. The white had ""bled"" into the pink part of my nail and the lines weren't straight, they were jagged. I didn't say anything though b/c I NEVER complain at nail spas. They are a dime a dozen so if I'm not happy I just find somewhere new. I paid $35 and left a $5 tip and left. Wednesday evening, two days after my shellac manicure that is supposed to last 2 weeks (every other time I've had it done, I've even had them last 3 weeks!) so two days after my shellac manicure three of my nails had literally lifted of my nails and chipped off. I was very upset b/c I just spent $40 on something that lasted two days!!! So, today, October 6th, I went in to see if I could get my money back. They were EXTREMELY rude. I did not yell, or seem angry, just dissatisfied and wanting to get my $35 back. They told me they would fix the three nails but that was it. All of my other nails had cracks in them and were certainly going to chip off any day now. They told me my nails looked fine and that they would repair my three nails. I said I didn't want them repaired b/c it's clearly a product that doesn't last. They then told me they don't even do shellac manicures and that they told me that before I got my manicure and if I didn't like it I should have left then. They also told me that I must wash my hair too hard. ABSURD! Anyhow, it went on and on and on and long story short, they sent me on my way and had no care if I never came back. They have the customer service of toddlers and I have never been treated so poorly by anyone, anywhere. PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE for any nail treatment, but especially if you want a shellac manicure. They'll tell you that you are getting a shellac manicure but what they are giving you is a gel manicure. Totally different and not nearly as long lasting. This place sucks. I can't believe they are in business still. more
