Dr. Santora is EXCELLENT 8/14/2012

I recently discovered my cat Pumpkin has diabetes. I began taking her to New Hyde Animal Hospital and was lucky enough to end up with Dr. Lynn Santora as my vet. \r \r Naturally I was very nervous about the whole process and had no idea what I was doing. In addition to providing excellent treatment and very clear instructions, she has been so thoughtful, patient and reassuring, many times meeting with me and calling me after hours to talk to me and to check up on Pumpkin. \r \r What really prompted this review however, were Dr. Santora's actions today. I needed to bring in Pumpkin suddenly this morning because she was not eating and I could not give her insulin. It was Dr. Santora's day off so I left my cat at the office in another Dr.'s care. \r \r Not even an hour later, Dr. Santora called me from home to see what had happened with Pumpkin and then she called me again later that night to follow up and see how Pumpkin was feeling after I took her home. Amazing experience 7/20/2011

The staff from the receptionist to the Vet techs to the Doctors were amazing. Calm supportive and concerned. The doctors followed up at home to make to see how my dog was doing. All phone calls were returned in a timely fashion. My dog couldn't have been in better hands and she knew it. They treated my dog as if it was their own. more

open when my vet was closed 1/8/2011

My dogs got into a fight after dinner and I saw that Ginger's eye was bleeding. I live near a vet that I usually go to but they didn't answer their phone. I called around and by 8 at night, New Hyde Park told me to come in. They did surgery on her that night and I was able to take her home with her eye in one piece! I am so happy that she's ok and I am REALLY happy that I didn't have to pay a million dollars at the emergency vet. I will def change my vet now. more

They treat dogs AND kids. 12/18/2010

My dog Rufus cut his self badly while playing with our kids. My wife and I were not home and the kids couldn't get us on our cells so they took matters into their own hands and took them to this vet. My children are only 12 and 14, they didn't have a way to pay or anything. These folks took my dog in, calmed my kids down and then finally managed to get through to my wife who okayed all the care and the bill. I think its terrific that these people would go so far out of their way to help my dog and my kids get through what happened. I highly recommend their services and I can tell you that I thanked everyone in that office! more

Amazing Compassionate CARE!!! 12/16/2010

Amazing, compassionate care! I never write reviews, but in this case, my experience was so outstanding that I feel I have to say something. I brought my 18 year old cat, Jezebel to this place this past weekend. Even though we didn't have an appointment, they were able to fit me in. My cat has been with me and my wife since before we were married and I knew she was very sick. Dr. DiGrazia took alot of time with us and was very \r Amazing Compassionate CARE!! The technician, Amy (I hope I'm not getting your name wrong!) was also very sweet. After examining our cat, they told us that she had kidney disease and explained that if they put her in the hospital they might be able to make her feel better, but the doctor was realistic and explained that Jezebel was very old and that this also might be the time to say goodbye.\r \r Even though it was the weekend, the doctor called me two more times on Saturday and twice on Sunday! Thank God, a place that cares about Pets and Not Money!!! 12/16/2010

I recently left my veterinarian to come to New Hyde Park and I'm thrilled with the change! It is so refreshing to have people who actually love and care for animals!!!! The front staff knew my name on the first day, even though I had never been there. All the veterinary helpers were nice and my Doctor was caring, smart and eager to help me. I have a 12 year old poodle who has been very sick as of late, but after only 2 visits, my Greta is completely recovered. This is after months at my old vet. Thank you very much you guys! I will tell all my friends. more

Outstanding care! 12/8/2010

Late Sunday evening my dog went into respiratory failure. I called New Hyde PArk and the girls up front told me to come right over, the doctor would wait. Dr Huang waited for me to arrive, with the assistants all there waiting. She saw my dog, took xrays as the front staff assured me Dr Huang would help her. I have been a client for several years with all of my pets, and I can't say enough about the doctors and staff of New Hyde Park. What a wonderful group of compassionate people! more

Life Savers!!!!!! 9/13/2010

All the doctors and staff have been nothing short of amazing towards my pets and myself. I rescued a baby rabbit 7 years ago who had pneumonia before I got him and has it at least 10 times since I have had him and each time the doctors have brought him back better then before. This past year on Christmas Eve my 11 year old Boxer had to have emergency surgery not only did they save her life they had someone meet me there at 8 pm so I could bring my girl home. They are patient, understanding, and take the time to explain everything to you and walk you through every step of your pets recovery. I will NEVER trust my pets to another group of vets! more

bad first impression 2/23/2010

I took my pomeranian dog to new hyde park vet first time there ! to dr midranowas the vet.My dog was sneezing and coughing .waited in office for about half and hour . Vet didnt even introduced herself .Left me int he room with the tech which i found very stange .was told it was kennel cough.by tech. To make matter worse my dog gotten much worse .I took him to another vet to find she was diagnoised w/bronchtis .dont go to this vet horrible terrible . vet should not be there more

First Impressions mean everything! 2/12/2010

I had made an appointment for the first of the day at 8:30 AM. When making the appointment I had many questions as one of my dogs has seizures when not in an environment other then his own. I feared he would seizure and hoped we would be seen within a reasonable time frame.When I arrived, I waited an hour with no explanation. The front desk didn't tell me that the Dr. was running late, or that he wasn't even in the office until I questioned the delay. Last to mention my dog had a seizure while waiting in the sauna of the waiting area and the front desk just kept gossiping about other customers, while on asked if she should get a tech to assist me. The tech came about 5 minutes later and told me to wait in the car until the Dr. arrived! The front desk gave me a vibe that I didn't appreciate. I felt very uncomfortable from the moment I arrived. Although I think lateness at length is extremely rude and unprofessional, especially having the first appointment of the day. I may have waited more

I would recommend New hyde park aniamal hospital .They are very good and understanding with any questions. I also have to agree that the girls at the front desk are loud and young .you can here them laughing about people leaving .I would have left if it werent for mara digrazia great work. more

Lynn is an outstanding vet ,very caring answers all your question! the only thing im going to say is the girls up front are a little young and immature its a litte uncomfortable dealing with it since they gossip and make fun of all the the owners bringing the pets.I think alot of the customers complain about it.Its not fair since your bring a sick pet in and got listen to gossip . more

Animal Hospital 11/22/2008

I have been taking my dogs and cats to New Hyde Park Animal Hospital for ten years now. They are excellent. The girls at the front desk are very pleasant and the vets are especially nice. I recommend everyone taking their dog or cat to them. You won't be disappointed. more

Dr. Lynn Santora is the best 6/10/2008

I have to agree that the New Hyde Park Animal Hospital has been wonderful to us and our cats. Dr. Santora is one of the most compassionate and caring doctors we've ever met. She is caring and helpful to both ourselves and our fuzzy babies. I would recommend Dr. Santora in a heartbeat. She is also very open and respectful regarding our choices pertaining to diet and nutrition with our animals. In an emergency she is always there. FIVE STARS. more

Caring Vets 1/2/2008

I have been taking my dogs to New Hyde Park for the last 15 years and I couldn't find more caring vets. They treat my dogs as part of my family. They make sure we understand what is going on with the pet and are available for any additional questions we might have.I would highly recommend them! more
