National Car Rental

The Westchester County airport facility of National is very efficient. It is not large enough to justify having an Emerald Isle but you get through the counter quickly with no hassle. Staff is pleasant and very helpful. Pick up and drop off is a breeze. From the counter to the car lot is a 1-minute walk. I have rented from them for local travel several times a year and never have I had any difficulty. \r \r Please be sure to check their operating hours as this location is a small airport and they do not have 24 hour coverage. more

I had a 1-way rental from Westchester County Airport (NY) to Roanoke Blacksburg Airport (VA) on March 28th-30th. Be aware that the counter doesn't open until 8 am on weekends. The National employee had called in sick and the Enterprise agent was covering for them. She was very helpful and suggested a different model car that was better suited for my purpose. The only issue was that we have a corporate account which somehow didn't get coded into the system correctly & my original contract included mileage charges (which would have exceeded the daily rental charges) which are waived under our contract. She tried to fix it but was unable to and hand marked up my invoice (but unfortunately didn't initial it as she wasn't actually a National employee). Upon arrival in Roanoke, I explained the situation to the agent in the airport there, and with an invoice from a 1-way rental from several weeks prior under the same account, he was able to call into his corporate office and get the issue resolved for me quickly. Both airport locations are too small to justify an Express Lane, but the parking lots are quite close and service was quick. more

My recent experience with renting a car at White Plains airport was very pleasant. The counter staff were very knowledgeable, helpful and had great attitudes. The car was great as usual. Even returning the car was a pleasant experience. The staff checking it in was one of the nicest people I have had when checking in cars at different airports. Great Job! more

Renting a car with National at White Plains/Weschester county airport Feb 17-20 was a pleasure. Staff were super professsional, helpful, and efficient. Car was sparkling clean and included an ice scraper for the winter weather. \r \r My experience at the LaGuardia National car rental site a few days later (Feb 23-26) was not good. There were only 2 cars in the standard rental class available in the Emerald aisle. Neither had been cleaned. One was particularly bad, with dog hair and fast food trash in the car. I chose the less-dirty of the 2 choices. It still had some paperwork and a hat left by the previous renter. The gas tank was also not full - slightly over 3/4 tank. There were no onsite staff around to ask other than the attendent in the booth at the exit station. It was late and I was tired so I just took the dirty car rather than hassle with finding another one. Other experiences with National have been good - maybe this was just a bad day. more

My experience with National is they are simply amazing!!! I never have trouble picking up or dropping off and they are always so flexible in making sure you have a great experience! I will always recommend this location!!! more

My experience with National at Westchester County Airport has always been great. Easy picking up the car and easy dropping it off. Great cars available. They even allowed me to buy a 1/2 tank of gas instead of full. Very flexible. more

I recently rented a car from National, and found the company to be honest and professional. I encountered a problem with my original vehicle, the company was remorseful, and several employees worked assiduously to rectify the situation to my satisfaction. I believe the original malfunction was an outlier and not likely to occur again. The staff of National was solicitous, apologetic, and eager to amend the the situation.Our mutually-agreed-upon solution was fair and compassionate.
