Love the food! The best food I've had in a long time. The service was a little slow. But I didn't mind.

I totally agree with every reviews on here that talk about the terrible service and rude awful manager. I've eaten at nakama a few times. It's either hit or miss. My time there is...

Best Way to Spend a Bday 9/17/2006

I absolutely love this place! I went with a huge group of people for my birthday and everyone had a great time. Food was amazing and so fresh. I would recommend the tempora to everyone! more

I live nearby to Nakama and frequent regularly. The atmosphere, food, and people are top notch! This is the best Japanese Steakhouse in the area, and the food is always cooked perfectly! The filet is amazing, and the sushi is some of the best in Pittsburgh. Make sure to make reservations on a weekend, cuz it's always hopping at Nakama!!! Amazing experience at Nakama 9/17/2006

I am new to the city and a few friends took me to Nakama. It was the first time I had been to this type of restaurant and I had a great time. We had to wait 45 minutes for a table (so i suggest reservations), but it was definately worth the wait. The food was delicious, the show the chef put on was really fun to watch, and the atmosphere was really neat. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys japanese food. Great Atmosphere! 9/17/2006

I love NAKAMA! Fantastic food and a great place to eat. I highly recommend making reservations very early in the week because everyone is at NAKAMA during the weekends! Waitstaff is very friendly and attentive. My husband and I went for our 2nd Anniversary and had such a great time! more

Best Hibachi I have ever had 9/17/2006

Nakama is the best Hibachi restaurant I have ever been to. I have tried several in the Pittsburgh area, but Nakama tops them all. The service is great and it is definitley kid freindly. I would reccommend it to everyone... Pros: valet parking, sushi, customer service more

Great Happy Hour - good place to go with a group of people 9/17/2006

I have been to Nakama 5 times and will continue to go back. The food is very good and I like the happy hour crowd (mostly younger professionals). The only advice I have is, if you are going in a large group, or going with any number of people on the weekend, make reservations because it is typically crowded. more

Best Sushi 9/17/2006

I was fortunate to be taken to Nakama for my b-day and had the surprise party arranged by my husbands and friends. The experience was wonderful. What stood out for me was the sushi. I eat sushi in many different states and I have to say that this is the best sushi that I have ever had. Everyone loved their meals and the b-day celebration was great.\r I look forward to returning and trying even more on hteir expansive menu. more

Superb Service, Selection and Satisfaction Guaranteed 9/17/2006

My family and I (9 adults and 5 children)visited on a Sunday evening following a Steeler game and were very pleased. The waitstaff and chef were extremly firndly and family oriented. The food was outstanding and the prices were very reasonable.\r \r I would definitely recommend this establishment to anyone looking for EXCELLENT meal and a GREAT time. Great Food, Great Atmosphere!!! 9/17/2006

Nakama was a great experience, especially for our 1st wedding anniversary. The chef was amazing and fun to watch, the food was excellent and extremely well priced and the drinks were out of this world. We have been to several sushi restaurants in the Pittsburgh area and Nakama is definately the best!! I would highly recommend Nakama to anyone looking to celebrate any occasion. We are repeat customers, of couse! Pros: Price, value, service and the Sushi! YUM!!! Cons: Parking and lighting...it was just a little too dim in certain areas more

Great Service 9/17/2006

Whenever I have visitors to Pittsburgh I always take them to Nakama. We went last night and had a great time. It was Sunday night and the cook was running behind. To make up for the wait the waitress bought our table a round of drinks on the house. When the chef did arrive he was very friendly and talked with my guests about their trip and impressions of Pittsburgh. Everyone loved the food and can't wait to go back! The Place to be Thursday Nights 9/17/2006

This may be the hottest spot in the city and with good reason. This restaurant has it all. Whether you like sushi or the Japanese steakhouse fare you will be more than satisfied with the quality of the production on your plate and palate. The attention to detail that goes into everything they make whether it be food or drink cannot be understated. It is a great place to take a date or a group of friends. In addition, this is THE PLACE TO BE SEEN in the city right now which makes for a fun night of people watching. I've been introducing LOTS of out-of-towners to Nakama. I'll take any excuse to go there for the delicious fresh sushi and martinis. :) Aside from the sushi Nakama always delivers a wonderful atmosphere where you can enjoy great conversation with friends and often strangers you dine with. I have been to Nakama many times, with family, co-workers and friends. The birthday celebrations are great. The service has always been excellent. I have eaten in the dinning room and at the bar. Best Dining Experience in Pittsburgh! 9/17/2006

I admit, I am writing this for the $10 gift certificate. However Nakama gets my dinner dollars anyway so I am happy to be able to save a few dollars eating at one of my favorite restaurants. I have never visited this site before, so I am glad to write a review based on my experiences. I am not prone to dining out alot but Nakama is one place that I truly love. I have eaten at the restaurant many times and have had a pleasant dining experience each and every time. I am not an expert on sushi and everytime I order, I always ask the a server for a suggestion and they have never led me a-stray! \r \r One of the best features, which many people may find as a negative, is that the restaurant is always busy, always packed, and to me that means its a great restaurant! I would rather wait to eat at a quality restaurant than be the only person at a ""greasy spoon"".\r \r If you are looking for great food, great atmosphere, a memorable experience, then NAKAMA is the place to go! Nakama is the best restuarant in Pittsburgh!! I have eaten there several times and have had the best service and food each and every time. The serving staff and cooks are friendly, attentive and informative and the food is out of this world. The menu has something for everyone...even vegetarians! I highly recommend Nakama! Top Notch Sushi at Top Notch Prices 9/17/2006

I heard about Nakama through a friend, and because I am an avid sushi lover I couldn't wait to try it. I have tried sushi throughout the United States, and (I make it a point to wherever I go), and Pittsburgh's Nakama definitely takes the cake! They have an amazing variety of sushi, as well as a yummy drink menu (My personal fav is the Cosmo). The past two times I have visited I ordered a roll and shared another one with a friend, and our bill is extremely affordable and we leave equally as satisfied. Also, Nakama is popular and always busy, but I've gotten a seat at the sushi bar very quickly every visit. A must try! Pros: Great Sushi; Friendly Staff Cons: Sometimes crowded at the sushi bar more
