We had a meeting with Manny a few days ago and he promised that the rough electric work and rough plumbing will be completed before X'mas. I am looking forward to moving to the new house in Spring as Manny said he is confident the house will be completed by April, 2014. THANK YOU FOR YOUR GREAT WORK!!! We just finished a basement and first floor remodel with N.E.A. Construction and we are thrilled with the results. We have radiant heat under the floors which were suggested by N.E.A Construction, new TV and audio wiring, a completely new lighting system, custom closets, a new laundry room and a new bar. We choose many high end materials and were really happy to see the experience the installers had with these things. The owner is an architect and was a pleasure to work with and full of knowledge and professionalism. He incorporated all of our ideas, helped with some of his own and the quality of the final product has exceeded our expectations! more

AVOID THIS COMPANY, they are fraudulent. The ""positive reviews"" were written by the owner!! They have no staff!! It is a one man operation and 90% of what you read here is pure B.S. Check the NYC Department of Buildings, this company does NOT have the required licenses to do home renovations and had not completed a single project they are working on. The owner talks a good talk but he has no qualifications and does not know what hes doing. Hire a proper Contractor, check the ""real"" references by looking at the NYC Department of Buildings list of projects dont take my word for it. do your homework. As for the review from Happy8169 it is illegal for a Contractor to change the Architect's plans!!! NEA did it to us also and he ruined our house, was unable to fix it, and stopped showing up. more

NEA Construction is a contractor that YOU WANT TO STAY AWAY FROM. NEA Construction started the renovation on my house in March 2012 and they are not even at 50% completion as of today. The contractor always has an excuse on why he is delayed. It ranges from the plumber to the electrician (even though they are his subcontractors) and to even Hurricane Sandy (even though that was in October 2012) up to now! It has gotten so bad that we have retained a lawyer. NEA contractor claims that he is an architect. If so, why does the NY State Education Department not recognize that? The work that NEA has done so far in my house especially in the cellar is substandard, borderline fraudulent and completely negligent as NEA did not follow the plans for the new steel beam. Even with the plethora of evidence against this negligence, NEA continues to insist that he is in the right. My architect let him have it and denounced him for what he is: a deceitful, lying contractor who is to be regarded with total suspicion. I would never use NEA CONSTRUCTION again. more

I am writing this review to highly recommend N.E.A. Construction. I’m in the process of renovating my Manhattan condo and required a capable contractor. I found N.E.A. Construction through a referral. I am a financier the real estate industry, so I work with contractors every day and know how few decent contractors there are. N.E.A. Construction is not just decent, THEY ARE AWESOME! \r \r I work very long days and really needed a firm that could understand my ideas for the place without long meetings or requiring me to shop to pick stuff out. I have been through a renovation before and it was a nightmare. These guys show me some sketches and boards and samples and its like they read my mind. The staff is friendly and considerate, two more things which are rare in New York City. Some of the workers seem capable enough to run their own companies and I wonder what the owner is doing to keep them onboard. The owner, Manny, is an architect and is a full of awesome ideas and I keep telling him that he needs a show on HGTV. The work is top notch and Manny has given me ideas that I never thought of, and I really appreciate the knowledge. We added radiant heat to the whole place and towel warmers in the bathrooms, and we are using color combinations that I would have never tried on my own. My budget is approximately 1 million and the kitchen and master bedroom are really important to me, and I feel totally comfortable letting N.E.A. handle the interior design. They are even tweaking my architect’s design. Its like they are doing that last little bit of refining that my architect never achieved. I used another architect to make me drawings before I found N.E.A. A few months into the project and I’m wishing they had done the initial design. \r \r I cannot say enough good stuff about this company. Every part of this process so far has been a pleasure. I would highly recommend N.E.A. Construction Company to do your renovation!! The finished product exceeded, by far, my expectations.\r \r I bought a co-op apartment knowing I had to do a TOTAL renovation, which is no easy task since you have to deal with the rules and regulations of the building’s board in addition to city permits. In addition to Manny being an Architect his knowledge and professionalism were the key factors in my selection. The floor plans and design addressed my concerns; in particular, kitchen storage space, lighting needs, closet space, and aesthetic look.
