Murphy & Son Roofing

Don't ever use this company. I have been fighting with them since April, 2010. They installed a rubber roof on our patio enclosure which was promised to stop all the water leaks and it made it worse. It started to leak in the spring and summer which it never did. It only leaked in the winter. Laura never returns phone calls and I have had to contact the BBB and now the Attorney General. It is now February, 2011 and it is still leaking and I finally got someone to come and look at it and they are going to discuss it and see if we can come to some agreement on fixing it. I am not paying for any additional work as my contract stated ""no additional charge to customer"". They are a horrible company with some good workers who have their hands tied by a very poorly managed office. If you use this company you are crazy. I am now getting ready to contact all the TV channels and take them to small claims court as this job cost us $1,250.00 and is no better than when they started if not worse. more

Needed Chimney repointed. Worker came late but did arrive. Showed chimney to be repointed. Approx. 15 minutes He's packing up truck and demands to be paid. I asked how you can repoint a chimney in 15 minutes. Shows me all the caulking tubes he used and thats how they repoint. I did not want a chimney caulked I wanted it repointed with cement. He responded it takes too long and caulk is better. The work was sloppy and looked worse than before he started. Very rude person and owner is even worse. Do not bother with these idiots, Had chimney properly done by another roofer and at a lower price. If negative stars were an option I would rate them accordingly. more

Thought they showed interest in fixing my leak. Contracted to replace entire front shingles on my house. After I paid $200 as a downpayment on a $1400.00 job...it was 4 weeks before they came out to start the repair. I had to make 15 phone calls to find out when the work would be done. In the meantime my roof is leaking. Finally they show up at 1pm after I'm told 9am would be the start time. They have no customer service. Rude people . When calling they will not divulge the owners phone number and claim not to have it. Don't sign a contract because you will NEVER be able to speak to someone in authority. They opened my roof, laid tar paper down and left. Then they actually called me to say that I'd have to wait another 3 or 4 days before someone can come out and finish the job. In the meantime I had a 3 foot pile of shingles, old tar paper and crap on my front lawn for 7 days. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND STAY AWAY. more

If I could leave zero stars I would. Just like disapointed below they came out quickly, seemed competent and then everything went wrong. My leak got worse and when I called to ask for return service they told me to take a flying leap (but not that nicely). There are a lot of options in this city and please don't get ripped off like I did. I called another roofer and they fixed my roof the first time. I wish I hadn't have wasted so much money with Murphy the first time. more

2 compitent men arrived, I pointed out the leak in the ceiling inside, they went up and applied about 4 tubes of caulk, they were out of here in 20 minutes top, The ad states, secure loose shingles, secure & clean gutters, seal up to 3 leaks. Next rain, still a leak, I wrote them and requested they contact me about the leak, no reply, I called and told the person that I still had the leak, a few shingles were just hanging loose, could they please return. They said yes, for a price, they insisted there was no gaurentee, I'd have to pay them to have them back, I got a roofer, he fixed it better and for less. Pros: they did show up on time Cons: not considerate about my concerns more

This company stopped a leak that took 6 roofers couldn't. I highly recommend them to anyone who wants a complete and professional job done. Pros: promptness, professional and very freindly more
