Mr. Rooter Plumbing 5/24/2011

Having used Mr. Rooter Plumbing in the past for minor drain cleaning, it was an easy choice of who to call when it was time to move my business and have the plumbing hooked up to the city main. Two technicians arrived onsite to show us exactly what needed to be done and exactly what it would cost. After we gave our authorization, the techs began working on what would turn into a nightmare-ish project. They worked hours upon hours upon hours to take care of my building and have me up and running for the city inspection. It turns out the city plumbing was a bit more difficult underground than previously thought but the technicians never waivered. The worked tirelessly and carefully and kept us apprised the entire time. Our price never changed despite the fact it turned out to be more complicated than originally thought (thank you, City of ____). There is no other plumbing company I would use or recommend, ever! When it comes to plumbing, Mr. Rooter is my guy! more

I had a pressure vacuum seal on a sprinkler system blow. Because of the reviews on Yelp, I called Mr. Rooter and spoke to Scott, a project manager. To their credit, they were on the job in a matter of hours. They charged me $429 plus tax for the job, what they said they would charge me. Because of an associated $400 water bill, I pleaded with them to reduce their costs. No go. I read about another place called Good Guy Plumbing, just to see what he normally charges. $125 plus $50 in parts. Look, I hate feeling like I've been screwed. And I can't help but feel screwed. Mr. Rooter seems to be over charging for the services. Did I have any issue with their service? No. They were very professional. But at twice the price of someone with great reviews, I think you're better off checking out the competition before going with Mr. Rooter at least so that you have some comparison. more

If you enjoy repeat problems, these are the ones for you. 9/14/2005

Can Mr. Rooter fix your plumbing problem? Well, I don't know the answer to that because I'm not a "third time's a charm" type of person when it comes to a leaking toilet. I do know that they can't unclog a shower drain - but they can certainly make you think you need to dig up your yard and install new drain pipes to get the job done. I also know it takes them forever and a day to work and after "attempting" to fix the problem, they sit at your dining room table for an hour writing up the bill while saying "I sure do hate to charge you this much so I'm going to give you a discount". (At least all the workers are trained by the same person as they each perform the exact same song and dance.) In my experience, their prices are very high, their work is not acceptable and they are not the most professional. I say call someone else. (Check out my review on O'Neill Plumbing.) more
