Totally Life Changing! 2/23/2009

This is the place to go if you are looking to change your body and your life. I have done every type of workout regimen you can think of and have never felt like this. Patricia is a total pro who pushes you just beyond where you think you can go. She also happens to be a lovely human being. You will actually feel a little taller and stronger after your first session. Moving Strength gives you a total body workout and leaves you sore in all the right places. All the trainers are amazing -- hand-picked and trained by Patricia. If you are looking for real results, this is the place. Moving Strength offers a unique and personal approach to pilates instruction. Patricia specializes in pre and post natal pilates and all of her instructors are friendly and knowledgeable. You won't receive a generic pilates routine at Moving Strength. Attention is given to each individual's needs with a challenging and effective program designed for each client. The space is quiet and warm and is fully equipped, even with a cardio machine. If you are looking for a studio that emphasizes quality of instruction in a non competitive environment then Moving Strength is for you. Pros: Quiet and bright space. Cons: Depending on where you are traveling from, can be somewhat of a hike. more

Best pre/postnatal Pilates ever 2/10/2009

This is the place to go. The trainers are fully versed in working with Pregnant women who still want to get a good hard workout in. Patricia is wonderful being a mother herself really helped. They trained all the right muscles that help ease my pregnancy, delivery and recovery. I wish I had found Moving strength when i had my first child. Never felt better and cant believe I am actually in better shape then when i got pregnant. I completely recommend Moving Strength. Such a joy as I was even able to bring my baby to the workouts after delivery. Pros: Knowledgeable trainers who really know what they are doing. more

Since I started Pilates with Patricia it has been so varied that I don't feel the hour passing. It is extremely efficient targetting all the muscles that need work. After the class I always feel great, stretched, relaxed and ready to start my day! I highly recommend it! more

Best Shape of My Life 2/8/2009

I thought I was in pretty good shape -- gym four or five times a week -- did the routine I've developed over the years with weights, machines, stretching, etc. Of course, my body was rigid as a board, but I'd gotten used to that. Then I started working with Patricia, on her equipment and on the mat. Well, turns out I was doing it all wrong -- and I didn't mind hearing it from her because she quickly gave me a routine that was more effective and easier -- not less intense, but more natural feeling -- and more effective than my hour and a half of grunting at the gym. And what's amazing to me is that I'm just as strong or stronger than ever, but I can actually turn my neck for the first time in years. And I feel lighter and so much more flexible. I'm hooked -- but there are worse addictions. I totally recommend this way of working out. Pros: quickly customizes routine, great stretch-out after exercising, great vibe Cons: none, really more

Best Pilates Studio in the City 2/5/2009

Granted, I haven't been to ALL of the Pilates studios in the city, but I have been to several, and Moving Strength has it over all of them. Patricia Ruiz, the instructor I had, is a complete professional. She knows her stuff and makes you feel that you are totally in good hands. Not only is she an amazing Pilates instructor, but she has also been trained in ballet... and it shows in the way she carries herself and in her diminuitive yet statuesque demeanor. I would highly recommend Moving Strength to anyone starting our in Pilates, as well as to the more experienced trainees. more

Expert Instruction 2/3/2009

Moving Strength offers the top-tier, most specific instruction in pilates I have ever found. Very experienced instruction and customized workouts. This is an environment where you can really grow into your practice and see the results - mind and body. My shape has completely changed thanks to pilates and this studio is the best I've found.
