Moving by Design came on time and worked really hard. They also took great care of all of my stuff. The only bad thing about the experience was that they had to wait once they got to my new apartment. My daughter got the apartment for me, and we both had to sign the lease before getting the key. The movers had to wait for us for about an hour and a half. I'm glad they waited! more

I used Moving by Design to move from one house to another that was 4 miles away. They showed up without everything they were supposed to have. For instance, the package was supposed to provide wardrobe boxes, but they didn't have any. They refused to move a lot of things. They left before they even put all of my beds back together. I have a flat-screen TV mounted to the wall and was told they would take it down and move it. They "didn't have the tools" to take down all of the pieces. It all seemed like they wanted to do the least amount of work. It took extra long because I would look out and see a guy carrying just a pillow, for example. more

I was moving some things from storage where Moving by Design is located. They loaded it all up, came to my apartment, and were then going to move them over to a new house. On the first day of the planned move to the house, they brought a truck that was too small. They couldn't get all of my furniture into the truck, so they said they would come back and get the rest of it later. I had had a contractor in the house, so there was wet paint in there. The movers moved some stuff into the house, but most of it went into the garage. They came back on the second day, again with a truck that was too small. We moved what we could again. James, the main guy who had been working on it for those two days, came back the third day with another guy. They thought it would take a couple of hours. Well, they didn't leave my house until a quarter to midnight. They grossly misjudged the timing and took way longer than anticipated. I was not happy about that. Moving by Design had helped me on projects before this and done fine. Everything was alright in the end, but I feel I spent more time and money than I had expected because of these incorrect estimations. RESPONSE FROM Moving by Design: What was listed during our phone conversation would easily fit on a 24 ft truck which is the size of the truck that went out the first few days. We didn't get as much on day one because the packing was incomplete. You seemed fine with the first few days of the process but day three was more then I expected. Again based on the original conversation the items would fit on a 24 ft truck. We made three loads. In hind sight I should have come out before the final pack and move so you and I knew what to expect. My experience with Moving by Design was great. They were very friendly and very knowledgeable about what needed to be done. They came in, they did the job and did it well, and they were done quickly. This was the first time I had used them. If I were talking to one of my friends in the neighborhood, I would tell them that Moving by Design is local and does a great job and that they should hire them. more

I had to work and couldn't be there for the packing part of the process. The Moving by Design movers were left on their own. Even though I wasn't there to supervise, they did a great job. Everything was as it should have been. On the moving day itself, the weather was pretty bad. The crew was pleasant, polite, and willing to do their best to get my things inside quickly so they wouldn't get wet. more

We moved our law office from one suite to another in the same office complex. Movers by Design didn't have to use their truck at all. They just moved our law office outside and into another building. The reason I was impressed with them was because we thought we were not going to be able to move in until end the of August, but the building management finished early and said we could move in right away. So I called them in the morning told them we had gotten this notification that we could move in and asked if they could come help us. I told them we didn't need a truck, just some dollies and human beings. They were able to get out here by one in the afternoon. We also had some stuff in a storage units a few miles away. They had arrived in a truck, so I asked them if they could go and get that stuff. They said sure, but that one of their guys had to go to school. So I said I could drop him off and that's what we did: I drove him to school and they got our furniture. They were really accommodating and I really appreciated that. It was three young guys who came. They were really helpful and I really appreciated the way they handled things. They had said they would be here at 1:00 p.m. and at 12:30 p.m. they called and said they were a little behind and would be half an hour late. I really appreciated the fact that they called to let me know. A few years ago I had another company that I used to move. They broke things, were expensive, and it was an awful experience. I dreaded moving this time. I just happened to see some reviews for Moving by Design on the internet. I took a chance and I'm glad I did. more
