Editorial review from Citysearch 7/17/2012

Bikram yoga sandy is AMAZING! I have been going here for years (3+) and will continue to go for many, many, many more. The teachers are great at what they do and so friendly and helpful when you have any questions or concerns. The owners really care about their staff and clients/yogiers. I have learned so much about myself, my physical ability, and the ability to push past what my body says at times. I would recommend this practice to anyone that is willing to try! Just go for it... You'll have plenty of support from a lot of people. Don't belive the 1 tip from 3 1/2 years ago and she was an out of towner. My sister has come from out of town and she had a fabulous time and I also had a friend come with me that is from germany! They both loved it... more

This is for those of you who read the one star reviews. Please don;t listen to them. Those are the people who need to come to this class the most. Knowing that this class changes so many people's life, they still feel the need to leave such negative comments. For what reason? this class may not be for everyone. challenging to say the least. i also teach yoga. Not this style. But that does not mean i can't enjoy what Bikram brings to my practice. I would imagine they are yoga instructors and feel threaten that so many people come to this class. get over it. spread the love and you might get something from this class. Who knows? Maybe i will come to your class. There is such a thing as Karma. the world is in such an incredible transitional state , the more yoga, of any kind, the better off we are. that is all more

Sandy Bikram is great 4/27/2010

I have had a life changing experience at Bikram yoga in Sandy. The teachers are top notch and very professional. The studio is nice and clean. The environment is friendly and I have been treated very well by the staff. The teachers called me by name and helped me do the poses correctly, so I could get the most benefit from the class. The negative reviews on here made me laugh. I guess some people are easily offended. more

one of a kind 3/7/2010

i seriously feel sad, mad, disappointed in some of these reviews. bikram yoga is a unique experience that will change your life for the positive. i entered into this work out thinking i was going in for a nice stretch with the soft music going and candles. i came out with an extraordinary work out. this class welcomes beginners, and instructors pay extra attention to the new people so that they can get the most out of their experience. this yoga is not only physical but a mental challenge as well. the instructor push you to your max and know that is hard. they are encouraging but do not baby you. so if you are looking for someone to hold your hand and talk to you in a monotone voice then maybe this is not the class for you. after completing this class you will feel a sense of accomplishment, awareness, increased self esteem, awareness, and a special bond with other bikram yogi's. more

This place is great!! 1/8/2010

Never having been to a Bikram class I thought I would try it out. The first Saturday of each month at 10:00 am is free, they even provide you with a mat and towel if you wish. The teacher remembered my name from when I signed in, along with the names of several other new people which I really appreciated. I personally enjoy how the teachers use my name to help me get deeper into the poses, to inspire me to give it all I have, and to practice with integrity. I learned so much from each of the teachers and enjoyed the crowd the studio attracts. There is a huge variety of people in the classes, and everyone fits in! It's not how perfectly you do the poses, it's about doing the best you can, pushing yourself to the edge, trying something that makes you uncomfortable, and reaping huge benefits from working your entire body. They have a deal going on right now where you can purchase a 30 day unlimited pass for just 29.99, which is an incredible deal. I took advantage, and went 6 days a week. I have lost weight, gained a great deal of strength, definitely increased my flexibility, and gotten rid of several persistent and ongoing aches and pains. Bikram yoga is very healing, invigorating, and addicting! I LOVE it! Pros: Great teachers, friendly, very good introductory price more

WARNING: DO NOT DO YOGA HERE! 12/9/2009

To all who are considering this ""Yoga"" studio be warned. The Instructor is awful. The instructor called out the names of students for not doing the positions correctly. It was embarrassing and degrading. I believe as a instructor of yoga it is their duty be a gate for new practioners to walk through in confidence and peace. However this is not evident here. In addition to the instructor failing at making students feel comfortable, the course is sub par at best. If you want generic yoga that is not inspiring, this would be the place. If I were you I would take my yoga practice and money elsewhere. I am disappointed that people don't know that there are better yoga classes in UT. Pros: In Sandy Cons: Rude Instructor more

WOULD NOT RECOMMED TO OTHERS! 7/1/2009

I will not go back to Bikrum Yoga in Sandy on 1300 East. The owner does not have good customer service in my opinion. I hope others can read this prior to making a decision to support a business. I'm a business owner and I think customer service is critical. There are too many great business owners to support the ones who don't cherish their customers! Cons: Customer Service more

Avoid this place if you are a Bikram yoga newbie! 8/26/2007

Bikram Yoga is a set of 26 positions (asanas) that will challenge you physically and mentally. It's a great workout or can be. Be warned though the instructors at the Sandy studio are not all student-friendly and are not terribly tolerant of beginners. Yes, some are very positive and encourage newer students to go slow and ease into the positions, but others clearly focus on their ""favorites"" in the class and ignore everyone else. Worse yet some of the instructors somewhat condescendingly single you out if you are new and not holding the pose just right, which you may not be able to do unless you are double-jointed in the hips. Don't expect to be called by your name unless you are a regular. And ... I wonder if they ever shampoo the carpets ... it smells so bad in the yoga room that it made me sick. The good news is that you can find websites online with the 26 poses and do them at home til you build up your confidence. A true Bikram yogi would swear you have to have the heat for full effectiveness, but I have done the positions without heat and still gained the benefits (toning and losing inches). Bottom line: a great workout for losing weight and gaining mental toughness, but this place is not a positive experience for the yoga beginner, the non-double jointed, and those who have a strong sense of smell. Pros: Great workout; good opportunity to lose weight and tone Cons: Room smells bad; instructors may be insensitive to beginners more
