I will never Eat Here! Morton's Sacramento Capitol Mall! I don't know if the staff is RACIST or what their issue is? I wasn't allowed to use the restroom without reservation. Wow a reservation to use the ladies room. I offered to buy a meal and they stated NO! What horrible customer service! They deserve a 0. I will make sure to inform my business associates, Downtown Partnership and the Chambers member know how awful my experience was. I believe i was judged off of appearance. Stop Racism in Sacramento. Thunder Valley Casino - Have the Best Steakhouse in town by the way ! more

Best Steaks In Town! 11/29/2006

Great food & Great Service! We are lucky in Sacramento that there are numerous dining options when you want a nite out. There are even several resturants we enjoy steak at, but none quite like Morton's. Only Morton's can offer thier authentic style service and food. You can't go wrong with their Filet's, New York's, Prime Rib, or even the Lobster flown in daily form Maine. We always have a great expericence when we make it to Mortons. more

Service slow, steak overcooked and charred - not worth it! 11/19/2006

I love steak and it was a special night for my wife and I to go out. I love steak and figured a nice dinner out with my wife would be a great Saturday! Service was fair, steak was overcooked and needed to get sent back, meanwhile side dishes came out while we waited for a new steak so we had cold sides and a very subpar experience with less than responsive management. Would not recommend it. If you are looking for a good steak and atmosphere got to Ruth's Chris in Sacramento, great environment, steaks cooked perfectly and better priced!\r \r I always heard great things about Morton's, they just did not deliver. Pros: Good martini with blue cheese stuffed olives Cons: Overcooked steak, cold sides and poor to no response from mgmt on issue. more

Great Food! Great Drinks! Great Time! :) 6/3/2006

My mom & I went to Morton's & she is STILL talking about it!! It was absolutely WONDERFUL!! The food...GREAT!! Everything from the apps,to the entree,to the side dishes & to the desserts!!!! I recommend the hot chocalate cake. The wine list is amazing, even just ordering by the glass. It was pricey...BUT worth every penny!!! Will DEFINETLY go back again & again & again!!! Great place for a group...especially if you want to impress. Definitely an experience we will both remember! Pros: quality, service, wine list more

Over rated and over priced 12/18/2005

It was my wife's birthday and we decided to go to Morton's for nice steak dinner. We found it over rated and way over priced. We ordered two appetizers and two steaks dinners and we shared the dessert; we ended up paying $175 for dinner with tax and tips without any drinks. I ordered the ribeye steak and it was undercooked, warm and chewy. Service was scattered. We had one person take our order, another serve it and another finish the table. The ambiance was average, nothing special. What a rip off. more

Way...Overrated! Over-priced! 10/15/2005

I have to agree that its atmosphere & service is 5-stars, they definitely are in the business for serving, for that, I'm honestly impressed... BUT... food isn't as good as I expected. A top-graded of steak is a great start, which that's what they use; but how well the chef deals with it, I think is much more important & I think most people would agree with me. Bottom-line is, they ruin the steaks! For a minimum $36 plus for a piece of meat with no side dishes come along with it, & the way they ruin the meat, I'm sad to say that, WHAT A WASTE!!! Best Prime Rib, Ever 3/24/2005

This prime rib i had is by far the best i have ever had and i have had tons. That is just about all i order whn i go out. If you want the best go to Morton's. Service was also excellent more

Not impressed 2/28/2005

I agree with past posts that Morton's is overrated. I found the whole process to be rather fussy: when seated they make you wait for 20 minutes before they present the food cart, and only after that do you get a menu to look over. Its a great place to entertain, do business, or impress a date; a good place for a 3 hour, relaxed evening out without the kids. But overall, I'm glad I wasn't paying because I didn't feel like I got a bang for my buck. The meat was just ok and the lobster was a little disappointing. The wine list was decent, but when they served the wine, they didn't even let the guest of honor taste first before serving everyone; I'd expect more from a 4 star restaurant. Overall, I wouldnt choose go to this restaurant, but if I were invited Id go again. Pros: Good ambiance, romantic Cons: expensive, hit or miss food more

WONDERFUL! 3/3/2004

My husband's company was recognizing a few of their best general managers. In doing so, we were provided with the opportunity to enjoy a wonderful evening at Morton's. The food was absolutely fabulous. Our head waiter was a joy and very attentative to our needs. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone for a special occasion. This is not a weekly trip though, unless you have a very good job with great wages that leaves you with loads of money. I will go to Morton's again - for our anniversary. The Filet Oskar is the best meal I have had in a long time. Their Godiva Warm Chocolate Cake was to die for. You leave there very satisified. Keep up the great job Morton's. Excellent 2/15/2004

I've been to Morton's several times now and they have all been wonderful dining experiences! The steaks are melt-in-your-mouth and the side dishes are heavenly. Dessert is incredible as well. Surprised with other reviews of poor meat quality, poor service. I beg to differ! Highly recommended! Pros: Excellent food, Valet Parking more

Overrated 12/18/2003

The waiter was snobby and did not know what a mature blackberry was. He threw cognac on my dessert in a poor effort to make it something it was not. The $80 lobster was not worth $8. NO question, the steaks are very good. The style of service is what you would expect from a four star restaurant. A step up from Black Angus, OUTBACK or even Carver's. The atmosphere is dark and romatic, typical of a downtown high end eating place. The image of Morton's is dress nice, pay alot, get the best steak in Sacramento and don't take the kids. To my surprise and displeasure, guests wore jeans, T-shirts, and brought their babys and young children. Dinner, drinks, dessert (no salad or appetizer) with 15% tip costs $150 for 2. OK for anniversary occasion or business class with expense account. Pros: Great steaks, Great service, Valet parking Cons: Children welcome, Small lounge area, Over priced more

Morton's 11/17/2003

When I went there, I specifically told the waitress to make my steak medium well. What I got was the most burnt steak in the world. When you wait for all six members of your party to be served after 30 minutes of waiting, you do not want to have that over-priced steak sitting on your plate and burnt as hell! My experience there was so disappointing I tell everyone I meet not to go there! I tell them if you want the best then go to Claim Jumpers in Roseville!!!! Overrated 9/24/2003

Yet another pretentious restaurant in Sacramento with no reason to be. Ordered medium steak and my plate was RED when cutting into steak. Best part of meal was the clump crab cake. Ceasar salad was not good at all - warm. I like my salads chilled. Champagne I had was not chilled enough either. Wait staff looked sophisticated but was not all that knowledgeable. Plenty of other good restaurants for steak in Sacramento. more

Poor excuse for a steakhouse 6/21/2003

I'm from the midwest and perhaps have been pampered by the attitude about meat and knowledge of steak back there, but Morton's was disappointing. My waitress didn't know what ""blue"" or ""char rare"" meant, and even after the crack staff finally put their heads together and figured it out, my steak came back overcooked. It continually amazes me that this is considered a good steakhouse in Sacramento, an agrarian community. I find this typical of Sacramentans, however, in that they patronize chain restaurants and hold back the opportunity for truly good restaurants to enter the scene. Romantic atmosphere, attentive and superb waiting staff and food that simply is too marvelous for words! I highly recommend sharing a vegatable dish with a friend in order to save room for dessert--the souffle is outstanding!
