Best

As a bride with high expectations, it was important to me that my bridesmaids and I had a good experience every step of the way while planning my special day. When I walked in, ...

Worst

The management at Mockingbird Bridal is horrible. The dresses I ordered were extremely late, even though they assured me they would be there on time. The alterations lady is great...

Perfect Wedding Dress! 12/13/2009

I had been to at least 10 places in the Houston area, and all I found were a bunch of pictures of me in the wrong wedding dress. From David's Bridal, Louise Blum, Winnie Courture, Priscilla of Boston and a few others. These stores are full of beautiful dresses, but the sales staff wasn't listening to what I wasn't saying! I traveled to Dallas on advice from my best friend who had used MBB. Pros: Fashionistas & Selection Cons: more parking! more

Phenominal Bridal Gowns & Staff 12/2/2009

I got married a little over a year ago. A friend of mine wanted to know all about my dress so I told her to go to Mockingbird Bridal. She looked up the store reviews and called me. I am shocked at what I see! Pros: Staff & Selection more

salespeople need help 11/24/2009

Please read the reviews, I wish I had! Ordered 2 bridesmaids dresses per their measurements and both were a size too small and too big. Did not even bother contacting them because it sounds like good customer service is not their goal. Now I'm having to pay for alterations, thanks to them. Pros: selection Cons: fitting dresses more

Terrible Service 10/10/2009

I went into this store without an appointment on a Saturday afternoon. I walked in and asked for help. The employess (who did not look that busy) all said they were busy at the moment, but that I could find Jeanie and she would be free to help me. I found Jeanie and she acted as if I had ruined her day. She was annoyed the entire time she was with me. I am a petite person so the dresses need to be clipped in the back to see what the dress will look like in my size. Jeanie did a terrible job of tightening the dresses in this way and left the dresses hanging off of me. I looked so pathetic in these dresses that I became very turned off. At one point, my friend stepped outside to take a phone call and I wanted to wait to show her the dress I had tried on. I expressed this to Jeanie and she gave a loud sigh to show how annoyed she was. Needless to say, I could not believe this woman was working on commission and decided it was time to leave because she obviously did not need my business. I will never return and I hope she gets a better attitude. Pros: They had cookies Cons: Unhelpful associates more

Horrible experience with this store! 9/4/2009

I was the maid of honor in a friend's wedding, in which there were only TWO bridesmaids, and they managed to mess up our order. The two of us ordered different dresses and ended up with the same dress. When I called to talk to them about it, they shut me down and said I needed to have proof, which I didn't have, since they kept the original order forms and I never received a copy. The bride actually had to call up there and trick them into faxing her the original order forms (by saying she wanted the forms for her wedding binder, ha!), then when we went up there, the manager (Amber) was rude right off the bat, before we even told her what had happened. She then proceeded to blame me and say I hadn't done enough for the bride on ""her day."" After a lot of haggling and phone calls from the bride, the manager eventually agreed to pay HALF of the purchase price of the dress THEY SCREWED UP! Frustrating, to say the least. Pros: can't say that there were any Cons: incompetent, rude more

THEY ORDERED THE WRONG DRESS 8/31/2009

DO NOT SHOP HERE!!!! They ordered my bridesmaid the wrong dress and refused to take credit for their mistake. So we are stuck wiht the wrong dress. THe Manager always has a bad attitude and blamed us for their mistake. OH its just a HORRIBLE experience. I hope that no one has to have happned to them what happend to me. Just dont even waste your time. Cons: they ordered the wrong dress more

Phenomenal Experience for the most part 8/17/2009

I went to Mockingbird Bridal for my dress and all of my bridesmaids dresses - ask for an appointment with Becky, she's so helpful and sweet! When paying, the sales lady checking me out was not paying attention to my questions at all and when I asked about the outrageous alteration costs she just kind of shrugged and didn't even fake concern that I was shocked about how much my alterations were (I only had the front hemmed - no bodice or frills work). I'd recommend looking around and comparing prices before you decide to have alterations done - although mine were PERFECT and you can't put a price on that. But back to Becky - she even helped me call my bridesmaids and get all the information from the ones who were slacking on getting their payment and measurement info in. Overall, great experience! Pros: Becky, selection Cons: Some staff not attentive, alteration cost more

Do Not Go Here 8/11/2009

I ordered my wedding dress and bridesmaid dresses from mockingbird bridal because of the ""30% discount"" they said you get on the BM dresses if you order your wedding dress from there. The workers stood there as we discussed the discount, and when we decided and were ready to check out, they told us that the price on the dress was the discounted price, even though they let us believe that we were to take the 30% off of the price tag. They tried to convince my bridesmaid dresses to order dresses bigger than they needed (in order to make more money by having to do alterations later), and when one of my bridesmaids got her dress in the bust alone was NINE INCHES too big because the MB employees ordered wrong. After the bridesmaid went back numerous times for them to fix it, finally the week before the wedding they released the dress and it still was not fixed correctly. Do not order your dresses from MB. Even if you shop there to try dresses on or even find your dress, go somewhere else to order the dresses. Cons: dishonest, not helpful, rude, poor workmanship, cramped more

Train Wreck Wedding 3/13/2009

Grandma Shelton must be rolling over in her grave knowing the grandkids are destroying her business. I ordered my dress and veil SEVEN MONTHS early and both have been disastorous. My saleslady was so sweet and wonderful, but it all ended there. My veil was sent to me torn and with chunks of crud on it. It has taken multiple calls, buckets of tears and intervention of my parents to rectify. My dress is still a disastor, with no relief in sight. But Mockingbird Bridal claims, ""WE DON'T MAKE MISTAKES"". They flat REFUSE to pay for THEIR errors. Absolutely the WORST customer service I've EVER encountered. The Soup Nazi's customer service looks like the Ritz Carlton compared to this place.TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS has been flushed down the toilet and the owner/ general manager doesn't give a poo about it. Anyone care to file class action? Please contact me. Pros: some very sweet knowledgable sales associates Cons: new owners/managers ruining the business more

Great Customer Service thanks to Debbie! 2/17/2009

The store is crowded with lots of beautiful dresses. An appointment is a MUST because of the popularity of the store - don't expect to just walk in unless it is in the middle of the week. I was so lucky to have my visit scheduled with ""Debbie"" she was so sweet and knowledgeable about all the dresses, veils, etc. She listened carefully to what I was looking for and immediately narrowed the huge selection to exactly what I was looking for. I cannot speak for the rest of their bridal consultants but Debbie made me feel like I was shopping with a family member or close friend. My biggest decision for my special day was made so easy with Debbie's help and the quality dresses offered at their store. Pros: Huge quality selection. Cons: Other consultants didn't seem as helpful as mine. Parking is tight. more

wonderful service! 11/26/2008

A wonderful Dallas tradition! My mother bought her dress at this established boutique. The owners and their wonderful staff spent an entire weekday evening helping me find the perfect dress for my hard to fit figure. I was treated like a queen and felt like each of the ladies helping me really cared about my decision. Pros: one on one service, huge selection, trained staff, great prices, motherly staff Cons: limited parking, very busy store more

Horrible Service 7/7/2008

The ladies here ignored me when I first walked in,so I thought i would just wait until someone was available(30 minutes). I was really only looking for a veil and a head piece since I had already purchased my gown in Michigan. Once I finally got someones attention, I was taken to the back to a lady who already had a customer. When got back there she asked me where my dress was and was lecturing me about how a veil wasnt going to look right with what I was wearing and that I should have brought my dress (I brought a picture of the dress w/ me to give the store an idea). Then she began to tell me how it was stupid that I didnt buy my veil when I bought my dress! And that since my wedding is in Sept. it wouldnt get in on time(the bridal store I went to before said it only takes veils 4 weeks to get in and that i have time). I was upset by this point and just walked out of the store. If a customer is looking for something, don't lecture them about why they havent bought it yet! She didn't know what my situation was like or the reason why I havent bought one yet. This store was horrible! I will not recomend this place to anyone! Cons: horrible service more

WONDERFUL!! 5/13/2008

Wow! Reading some of these reviews I just have to laugh! I had a wonderful experience. 1. I made an appointment as this is a high-end salon ladies!!! You can't just walk in like it's wal-mart for pete's sake!...2. I am a size 4 so samples actually fit me. When you go to a couture or even high-end bridal boutique there will NOT be samples in big sizes!!! If you make and appontment and are a respectable size then these ladies bend over backwards to make this a great experience! Pros: selection and service Cons: not alot of parking-should have valet more

Tense just walking in the door 8/27/2007

This place was so chatoic just waling in the door made me tense, even after a glass of wine. I went on a Saturday, had an appointment, the girl i was working with had more than 1 appointment scheduled at a time. Tiny store, too many people, tine dressing rooms with no room for your girls to help judge your dress. The staff was not helpful nor did they listen to ANYTHING i was saying, kept trying to push me to look at the couture side of the house which ranges from $2000-$8000 and pushing me to order right away. They didn't even have the dress i was looking for, yet they wanted me to place the order. I was out of there in 30 minutes...headed to Lulu's and bought my dress! Cons: Staff and size of shop more

Terrible! 7/30/2007

My biggest complaint at Mockingbird Bridal is that i couldn't try on ANY dresses. I'm not a size 8 and that's the only size they have to try on. I could barely get into them, and didn't have a prayer at getting them zipped. The sales lady told me I would just have to use my imagination because they didn't have anything in the store to fit me. The two dresses I tried to get into, as well as all the ones I looked at on the hangers, were filthy. I attempted to try on two dresses before I left and the bridal consultant (who I did have an appointment with) barely gave us a backwards glance while she helped someone else. I will never return to the store and wouldn't recommend it to anyone, especially if you're not a size 8. Also, though their hours listed on here (and in every bridal mag I've seen them in) show they are opened on Sunday, they are not. If you try to call and make an appointment on Sunday they will very rudely inform you of this. ""They are not open on Sunday and haven't been for almost two years now"" Pros: didn't find any while I was there Cons: only stock size 8 samples, dresses were filthy, consultants were rude more

HORRIBLE PLACE!! 6/28/2007

Horrible!! Do not waste your time here. I got my bridesmaid dresses from here and had an absolute terrible experience. They told me the dresses would be here in 1-3 months and not to rush deliver. After 4 months my dresses were still not here (2 weeks before my wedding). I called several times and was put on hold everytime forever (one time was over 45minutes). Nobody seemed to know what dresses I had ordered and kept handing me off to some other stupid employee. One time I called and the lady had told me my dresses were in the mail. Well the only problem was she had never asked my name on the phone so how did she know that?! Turns out (after talking to a manager) that my dresses were still in CHINA!! Keep in mind this is now 2 weeks out. They told me I could overnight them for an additional $45 per dress. I had to do this and they did not offer to pay. RUDE RUDE RUDE RUDE. I would tell everybody to not go here. I went her to save a few bucks and ended up spending much more on delivery fees. Cons: service more

Great Gowns but Terrible Service 6/29/2006

I made an appointment to try on gowns and was made to wait for almost 2 hours. It wasn't until my mother got angry with them because it was 30 minutes from closing time and we still hadn't been helped that they got someone to help us. She acted completely put out that she was having to do her job. I did, however, find a gown there and purchased it. The prices are great but like most bridal salons, they nickel and dime you for every little thing. If you are infuriated by poor customer service, then save yourself the headache. They will treat you like they are doing you a favor by letting you spend your money in their store!!!!! Pros: Great gowns, good prices, variety Cons: Terrible Customer Service. They are so rude!! more

Worst Experience Of My Wedding Planning! 4/13/2006

I used Mockingbird Bridal for my brides maids dresses, and it was an awful experience. The woman who helped me was incompetitent. I never received my fabric swatch, and discovered it was because sthe order wasn't placed! No one EVER called me to notify me when the dresses arrived either. The last straw was when I picked up the dresses. I tried to get some more garmet bags and the woman at the counter refused! I spent about $3,500 at that store, and they wouldn't give me 5 plastic bags. I'm furious about the whole experience. I could have found the dresses I got at other stores, and the little money that I did save at Mockingbird was not worth what I had to go through. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AT THIS STORE!!! Pros: Savings on some gowns Cons: Horrible Service, Awful Fitting Rooms, rude, rude, rude more

Horrible Service 12/27/2005

Hoping to find bridesmaid dresses, we called to make an appointment at Mockingbird Bridal but were told no appointments were necessary. When we arrived the next day, however, all ""consultants"" refused to help us since we did not have an appointment. Even after we explained what we were told on the phone, the sales women were rude, snobby, and smug. It is surprising that Mockingbird Bridal has remained in business so long, and it is absolutely laughable that their motto is ""service is our song."" They must have been out of tune when we were there. Cons: service, attitude, parking more
