I spent about 20 years sitting around getting out of shape. My health started to decline so I decided to look into some different gyms. I tried 24 hour gyms where I could run on a tread mill and lift weights. I tried the local community center where I could swim. They all seemed sterile and I couldn't stay motivated.
My 17 year old son was invited to ""check out"" the Academy. I went along to watch and after about a week I decided to, ""give it a try."" 2 years later, I'm still energized to go to class, see my friends who are training, and learn all at the same time. It's motivated me past what I do in class. I've changed my diet and don't feel like I'm just waiting around for the heart attack to come.
