SP Plumbing and Heating is a complete disappointment. They claimed that I had made several past appointments that I cancelled because their costs were too high. This was definitely not the case so I was more than a little irritated when I asked for specific detail and they refused or could not to provide it. The manager also would not return several calls for an explanation. Stay away from these guys. There are plenty of reputable plumbers out there! more

Charlatans and liars 9/9/2011

I called this company for two problems: a leaky garbage disposal and slow bathtub drain (a child's toy had gone down it and needed to be retrieved). The guy they sent out was prompt and polite, but turned out to be a charlatan. He opened the cupboard under the sink, waved his flashlight around, and pronounced somberly, "It's shot. You'll have to replace it." Upstairs, he didn't even ask about what was blocking the drain, just made sure I had old pipes, informed me the trap was illegal (!) and said I needed a new one installed. All for the low price of over $1200. I paid the $68 dispatch fee, did a little online search and discovered that the disposal needed a screw tightened. Meanwhile the bath toy made its way through the pipe. Problems solved with five minutes' work and no money spent. Bottom line: they don't want to solve your problems; they want to make as much $$ as possible off your ignorance. Unfortunately there's no way to give them zero stars. more

The woman on the phone was very nice, however, this company will not even provide estimates. We just bought a home and have a rather large job but will not be using them as they are unwilling to even give a bid! more

Jason moved quickly to secure a new base unit for us 7/11/2011

When the initial fix did not result in a working unit, Jason moved quickly to secure a new base unit for us, meaning that our two llittle boys were sleeping comfortably again soon. We can guess that another option would have been a lengthy process of trying different fixes on the original unit, coming to our house to test it, and repeating this again over weeks and maybe even months. Given the diagnosis, we are not confident this ever would have resulted in a working base unit, as it would be hard to know how extensive the damage was from the frozen water. We really appreciate that Jason did not drag us through this process and used our need of a working unit as the guide for his plan of action. In addition to this, Jason installed the new base unit on a stand, so that it is less likely the unit will be surrounded by snow in the future. more

We are writing to commend the customer service 7/11/2011

We are writing to commend the customer service we recently received from Jason Page in fixing our mini-split air conditioning unit. We called to have it fixed during one of the few hot stretches of weather we have had this summer. Even though I am sure he was busy, Jason consistently made us feel like his top priority. He was flexible with scheduling, working around out two little boys' nap times since he knew the room units were in their bedrooms. He communicated clearly with us about what he thought the problem was, how the fix was going, and when we could expect the unit to be working again. His diagnosis was that we had tried to run the heat pump while there was snow around the outside unit. The condensation from the unit could not drain out the bottom properly, froze inside the unit, and broke it. more

I wanted to thank your technician, Alex, for coming out to clean our clogged drain on Sunday night. You might also like to know that your local advertising is working: We were at the Grand Old Day parade on Sunday and saw your float/truck. On Sunday night when our drain got clogged, the first place I thought to call was St. Paul Plumbing. It was a relief to have someone pick up the phone on a weekend night and then to have a technician out within an hour. more
