finally a good hair salon 1/9/2006

I went to Mina's in a hair crisis-not knowing exactly what I wanted the end result to be. But after a few minutes in the chair Heather knew exactly what I was going for and created the best look for me. The best hair place in the area! 1/2/2006

I have visited almost every other premium hair salon in this area, as a dark, fine-haired brunette who has always just wanted to be blonde. After many nightmares of double-processing and total bleaching elsewhere, I came onto this website, and chose Mina's based on it's high rating. I called them on New Year's Eve, and they managed to fit me in for both a free consulatation and a long corrective appointment, that day, so that I wouldn't have to go out on New Year's with horrible roots showing. I had Heather as my stylist, and her work actually exceeded my expectations. She corrected the roots and the tone of the blonde, and for the first time EVER, it actually looks natural! The cut and blow-dry were just as top-notch as the color, and I can't wait to go back again. Finally I have found the best salon in Chapel Hill! Sadly this salon is not worth a repeat visit. I hoped to have a more trendy cut, and walked out with average ho-hum. The color was not even close to what I was told I would get. I had to go somewhere else to have it fixed. Pros: location Cons: knowledge, not up to date more

Great Experience and New Friends at Minas 12/29/2005

Love the atmosphere and people at Minas. Looking for the big city beauty salon feel but wanted to friendly atmosphere and I found it with Mina's Studio. Andre welcomed me right when I came in and that started a great afternoon at the salon. I like that they can provide so many different services to cover massage, manicure, hair, etc. Worked out great being close to Franklin Street too!! Pros: Style, Services, Attitude more

Not always worth the money 11/29/2005

I used Minas once for my hair and found it overpriced for the cut I got. Nothing specia. It is also confusing because as a new customer you don't know what price range the stylist you are assigned falls into. I love the manicures and pedicures there but $60 is too much for my toes! The manicure is very reasonably priced. PROS: Trendy, full service salon CONS: overpriced more

Great Salon 11/5/2005

After moving to the Triangle, I was hard pressed to find a great salon. After many attempts, I was thrilled to finally find Mina's. I now have a great haircut and great highlights that I continuously get compliments on and considering what my hair looked like before - this is a miracle. I defnitely recommend Mina's...I wouldn't risk going anywhere else. more

everything was fine - the salon was fine, the haircut was fine - just not exciting. If you are looking for a safe cut, you should be fine. But if you want funky or creative, keep looking. I am still looking for a salon here to create my San Francisco hairstyle... more

Overall pleased, but not Overwhelmed... 9/6/2005

I was pleased with my haircut when I went to Mina's. I had a very friendly stylist who did exactly what I wanted her to do. I was afraid to try a new place since I just moved here, but I will definately go back in for highlights when I need them. The salon was modern and really made you feel like you were in a big city right in the heart of Chapel Hill. I was pleased with the service that I got, but not overly impressed. If you need a haircut from a salon, check it out, but don't have too high of expectations. more

A Fairytale Ending! 8/16/2005

I am fairly new to North Carolina; I moved here in January 2004 with my USAF husband. I am originally from Dallas, Texas, so I was used to the big city life, with great salons, great shopping, etc. Upon moving to NC, I was devastated to find that NOBODY could cut hair! After two traumatic experiences, I finally banned NC salons and got my hair cut again in Dallas. Pros: Reasonable price, Relaxing atmosphere, Great stylist more

my hair needed help!! 7/26/2005

I was new to the area and a friend told me about Mina's. I was very impressed with how beautiful the salon was! I felt so relaxed and far away from my busy , busy everyday life. I also was lucky enough to get a wonderful stylist named Sheila... she was awesome! my hair was in such bad shape, from lots of color and highlighting ( not to mention i was having a bad day!) and she made me feel beautiful outside as well as in! I got a great cut, great color and what an outstanding personality she has! She made me laugh til my sides hurt! I now go to her on a regular basis and I wanted everyone to know how Sheila made me feel so much better about myself. Not only is she my stylist, I consider her my friend!! i'll miss you 7/10/2005

Angela came recommend to me by a friend who called her the "eyebrow goddess." She was absolutely correct. I'm a self-proclaimed maniac when it comes to the brows which is why I'm in her room every two weeks for some much needed maintenance. Sadly, I'll be moving soon and it's too bad she can't move with me. It will take forever to find someone new. I'll make sure to stop in next time I'm back in CH for a quick pick-me-up. Best all around salon in the triangle - love my hair stylist 4/8/2005

coming back from another nice visit to Minas. Friendly front desk, almost immediately asked if I wanted a coffee or tea and of course great service from the salon staff with creative cut from Gabriella. Can't wait to go back for my deep tissue massage with Heidi and next week a facial from Kati. I've been going there for years and they really are the best in Chapel Hill if not all of the Triangle. I've went to many other salons in Raleigh, Durham and Chapel HIll trying to find that right match and Minas was the best for having the skill without the attitude. Try this place! 1/14/2005

After recently moving to the area from CA and getting an awful haircut elsewhere, I tried this place--and was delighted! My stylist, Heather, was very friendly and did a great job of shaping up the wreck! I got numerous compliments on the cut. Would highly recommend! more
