Overpriced for mediocre service and attention 6/23/2006

This salon charges exorbitant prices for color--Manhattan prices to be exact, and you won't get the quality or treatment that you would expect. I paid $200 for highlights and was not even shown the blow dryer or helped with products to style my hair, etc. Colorist left me sitting under the dryer for 15 minutes after it turned off while she tended to another client. Very disappointing PROS: Better than most salons in this area CONS: overpriced, average color job more

Mina's made me the center of compliments! 5/10/2006

Recently I had a formal party and of course the only place I'll ever choose in chapel hill is Mina's! I had the whole nine yards hair, manicure, pedicure, and makeup, it was fantastic, even my husband was fascinated and now he comes to Mina's for his haircuts and manicures! thanks Mina's for all the compliments I received on my look! Best Salon I've found yet in the Triangle... 5/10/2006

It has been a long journey finding someone I can trust to be my stylist, and in my profession, having a put together look is necessary when I give presentations to my clients. After finding a great stylist in Alejandra, I have been at ease knowing that I will walk out of Mina's looking great everytime. Cheryl at the front desk is always helpful in setting up a massage with Heidi as well, for a wonderful total package of relaxation and comfort - thanks to Mina's, the stress is gone when I go to the salon now! My favorite mini vacation spa! 5/9/2006

I felt compelled to write a review after becoming a new customer over 6 months ago - I always get star treatment at Mina's, from my entrance to my massage, facials, or even if all I do is have my hair styled - Mina's is the BEST. They always try to work around my schedule, and make me feel as though I am the only customer they will have that day. Its always refreshing to feel as though I'm on a mini vacation! Amazing Experience! 5/9/2006

I went to Mina's for the first time last week and I got a great and trendy cut that all my friends have been asking about! I was really nervous about getting a brand new style, but I couldn't be more thrilled! I'd recommend Mina's to anyone in the Triangle. more

WORST salon experience ever! They did not follow my instructions, gave me a horrible haircut cutting off 5 inches when i came in for a trim, and were incredibly rude when I expressed my unhappiness. Very impressed with this salon 4/19/2006

I have visited Minas Studio several times and have always been impressed with the business. The receptionist is always friendly and welcoming when you enter the salon. Alejandra has always done wonderful work with my hair. She has cut, permed and frosted my fair. I have always looked much better after she has worked on my hair. I have also had my nails done there and have had a massage. I have been very pleased with all of the services that were performed there. It is very good that they are open seven days a week so everybody can be served. The parking is great-don't have to drive around to find a place to park. All in all, visiting Mina's Studio has been a pleasurable experience for me. Try it! You will like it! more

unfortunate highlights 4/18/2006

I have been to Minas more than a few times over the years and gotten everything from decent service to, the last time I went, just plain awful! I won't be going back, and would not reccomend them. For almost 200 dollars I got streaky, fake looking highlights and an uneven haircut. I was rushed throught the whole thing and had to leave with wet hair. more

Still The Best in the Triangle! 4/15/2006

I have been going to Mina's for years now, and I can honestly say that they remain the best in the Triangle! Not only is Mina's a full service salon, the salon is beautiful, always clean and everyone there is always pleasant and willing to answer my questions. Even the front desk staff knows my name and what stylist I see. I am always warmly welcomed, and my hair always looks great (I get compliments all the time!). Thanks, Mina's, and keep up the great work! Pros: Good Parking, Friendly Staf, On time! more

worst manicure and pedicure 4/11/2006

Rude front staff. The worst manicure and pedicure I have ever had. The nails were not shaped or filed evenly. The regular pedicure is suppose to last 1 hr as opposed to their mini pedicure; well don't bother my regular pedicure was less than 30 min. I am not one to complain about any service but I honestly can't believe what a horrible job they did. I have received better manicures and pedicures for less than half the price. Pros: nothing Cons: expensive, misleading, poor job more

Dont care for the atmosphere and stylist dont know what they are doing or at least dont' give the inpression that they know what they are doing. I was very uncomfortable in this salon. Don't recommend. more

Best Hair Salon in the Triangle - period! Surprised in other reviews. 3/16/2006

This place is great - love the people and the service I get. Big city salon feel with friendliness of small city. I tried after I heard they won Best Salon by Citysearch and Chapel Hill news and I was not disappointed. They have it all too with hair, body, nails and skin services available. My friend had her bridal services there and she loved it too. Very convenient for me being that it is right in the heart of Chapel Hill but no parking issues like a lot of the other places. When I went I had a haircut and highlighting done by Alejandra and she did a great job! Also was greeted by a friendly receptionist when I walked in and got straight in to Alejandra so loved the first experience. Some friends of mine tried the packages they offered and said they did a great job with the nails, massage and facial. Plus it was convenient that they were open 7 days a week so they just relaxed on a Sunday at the salon. Well just had to give my 2 cents after the other average reviews. My suggestion is more

Mission complete 2/20/2006

I'm new to the area and have spent over $500 in 2 other salons trying to find someone with some talent for coloring my hair but, could have done better trying to do it myself. I've come to realize that "word of mouth" is more than a cliche. An always fabulous looking co-worker of mine recommended me to Jaymie at Mina's salon. I am so pleased! Jaymie listened to my needs and made color suggestions that compliment my skin tones. She fixed my terrible, unnatural color with beautiful highlights. My color looks natural and shines. more

GREAT HAIRCUT 1/31/2006

After having a real horrrible haircut by a salon near Falconbridge, Sheila at Minas was able to restore my hair. She is very pleasant and accomodating. She listens and discusses how she will cut your hair. I would definitely recommend her. Pros: Good parking more

Great manicure & pedicure! 1/19/2006

First time coming to the salon and had a manicure and pedicure by Mariana and it was great. I had problems finding a good salon in the area and Minas worked out great for me. Good location and parking near Chapel Hill. I'm going to come back next time and try out a massage and hair style next. Thanks Mariana! Pros: Great service, Convenient location, Open every day more

While visiting Chapel Hill my friend recommended Mina's Studio as an all day retreat. They call it Queen for a Day, and thats exactly how I felt. The staff was very personable and all the services were way beyond my expectations. I'm still getting compliments on my hair color (thanks Eileen). Next time I'm in town I'll definitely be back!
