Best sushi ever 9/27/2010

I can't give you enough stars for your delicious sushi and amazing service. more

This is it!! 6/18/2008

I can honestly say that before eating here, sushi was not my thing. After eating here, sushi anywhere else has been, well disgusting. Excuse my french. I love the Island Roll as well as the Y2K roll. I am stuffed and pleased by the end of my meal. I drink a glass of Pear wine and I'm good to go beddy bye. They should really move into a larger space. Pros: Delicious Food Cons: Tight Space more

Excellent Place to Enjoy a Delicacy 11/9/2007

This restaurant deserves a 10. The food is fresh, great, tasty, and well-made. They take pride in their sushi and always get order correct (at least when i have been there). The staff is friendly and they have cute, talkative sushi chefs behind the bar. If you are really nice to them, they will give you free sake' and probably take a shot with you as well. They have set the bar very high and the food speaks for itself. The only bad thing about this restaurant is its' size. It could be bigger, because there is usually a wait. Hands down it is worth it. I have been to hundreds of Japanese restaurants. This is One of my favorite restaurants to visit more

sushi roll 11/4/2007

I love this place! Pros: affordable, service, ambience Cons: cramped, limited parking, long waits on certain nights more

The wait is WELL worth it. 8/13/2007

There's about 7 sushi restaurants in a 5 block radius here. Their all empty apart from Mijori, it doesn't take long to realize why. Mijori serves fresh fantastic tasting sushi. Their traditional sushi is great but so are all their specials. The staff are all really friendly, and the whole place is clean and positive. The ONLY negative to this place is because it is so popular there is nearly always a wait for a table. Expect 10 mins minimum on any given night, up to 1 hr at the weekend. Pros: food Cons: Wait time, parking. more

Delicious Sushi 10/22/2006

I love this place! I just moved to the area from San Francisco, and I have been in search of the best restaurants. I came across Mijori from a friend who recommended it to me. It was the best recommendation I've received in a long time. We ate at the bar which was really fun. The service was outstanding. The sushi was incredible. We also ordered the Salmon Terriaki Bento Box which was delicious. The prices are very resonable and the staff is great. Pros: Sushi, Service, Price Cons: Very busy on weekends, Parking more

Best Darn Sushi in the BAY AREA! (Bold comment, I know.) 7/17/2006

I don't see how the sushi can get any better. Pros: parking, service, quality Cons: none. more

Best Sushi in Oakland! 7/9/2006

My boyfriend and I love this place. We now go there at least once a week to get our sushi fix. The rolls are huge and well priced (I really don't know what all these other people are talking about) and the nigiri and sashimi are always fresh. Pros: Great Sushi, Well Priced Cons: Wait for a table can be long more

We love this place... 4/2/2006

We really love this sushi place and go to it often. Their prices are good, the quality is good and we try to make it in every few weeks. It is a local fav. of our family! Pros: value, quality, service Cons: no reservations more

for $35.00 I expect more 1/10/2006

We bought 4 custom rolls a piece of Nagiri, Hamatchi and Unagi and felt very disappointed by our take out order. The rolls were extremely small for the price and the sushi was just so so. I've eaten at almost every east bay sushi bar and Mijori has been decent but not this time. I'm a chef and know the cost of these items and felt the price vs. the value was in my terms, a rip off. Drop your prices on the rolls and give us more value please Pros: friendly Cons: expensive, no value more

the absolute best! 10/8/2005

I ate at Mijori for the first time over a year ago, and it is the only sushi I will eat in the bay. This little hole in the wall has by far met my expectations and then some everytime I have gone. I am always left feeling satisfied. The rolls are amazing, nigiri is excellent, and so is everything else I have tried. The wait staff isn't spectacular, you have to flag them down a lot, but considering you are eating the best sushi on this side of the bay, its not a big deal. And the miso soup is amazing! Pros: ambiance, fairly priced, sushi rolls Cons: weekend wait time more

keep secret please 5/12/2005

have had nothing less than an excellent experience. visit at least twice a week. the servers are a bit young, but two are brothers and will do just about anything and sincerely. must have ninja and titanic rolls, the absolute best. once the back area smelled like pine sol and another time our name was mispronounced and we were overlooked for seating. neither of which would cause me to not keep going back for the best sushi in the area. Pros: best sushi, friendly staff, yummy miso Cons: wait more

Great Sushi 10/17/2004

We found this place by accident when we saw the long line of people waiting outside. What a gem. We go once or twice a week for wonderful sushi and bento box dinners (try the salmon). The tempura is crispy and not greasy. The rolls are delicious. The fish is FRESH. Service is excellent. The prices are reasonable. The people in the long lines know good sushi. Pros: Fresh fish, Delicious rolls, Great tempura Cons: , Small more

Imaginative rolls, but..... 6/11/2004

I am constantly amazed by the popularity of this place. There is a waiting list to get a seat on most evenings and I cannot imagine why. The regualr sushi (fish and rice) is overpriced and not very good and while there is an imaginative selection of maki rolls, their preparation is poorly executed. What you are served is a mound of rice, with some bits of fish and vegies in the middle and sauce poured over the whole mess. THe best sushi rolls are nice and tight, evenly cut and nicely presented. Sushi preparation here is just plain sloppy. Its like the preparers have no idea how good sushi rolls are prepared. Like I said, an imaginative selection, but they have no idea how to prepare them. Believe me, There are much better values elsewhere. Pros: cute little place Cons: , the sushi sucks more

poor sushi rolls 1/18/2004

The sushi chefs are inexperienced and poorly trained. I can cut sushi better. The chunks were anywhere between .5 to 2.5"" and the sushi just fell apart. Also, for the spicy rolls they just take hot sauce and squeeze it on the roll - very tacky. Cons: poor management, poor food, no parking more

Good Japanese Restaurant 3/20/2003

I like to Japanese food very much, especially sashimi, nigiri, temayaki. I have been to so many Japanese restaurants around the Bay Area. Only this one is the best one I have ever been to. I am very picky on the shape, color, taste and fresh with the raw fish. The chefs in Mijori do it very well. The raw fish are so fresh. You can also taste the fried oysters, combination sashimi, salmon skin temayaki. Food is good and it cost you not much. Why not come to take a try? Pros: sashimi, nigiri, not expensive more

Fantastic Sushi 9/10/2002

I am a vegetarian personally and live in the neighborhood - it is one of my favorite places to eat. Great food, awesome bentos, etc. All my meat lover friends rave about this place as well. Good times. Good times. Pros: good vegetarian, awesome bentos more
