Having had an unpleasant experience with their door to door sales people, I would not incude this company when in the market to have any kind of work done. When someone tells you a baby needs attention, you should excuse yourself and leave! Don't force the customer to get mean. That can't be good for business! more

DON'T DO IT! This company is the most unprofessional and dishonest group I have ever dealt with! Their high pressured sales tactics, lack of communication and blatant lying have made my bathroom remodel a nightmare. If you read any ""positive"" reviews on here...ignore them. I have it from a very good source that they are written by employees of Midtown and not actual paying customers! more

GREAT COMPANY. I have finally found a company that does what they say they will do. The work was better than expected. Price was very very fair considering the quality and professionalism that I received. My salesman was one of the best I have ever experienced. Professional, knowledgeable and courteous. We are so pleased with our new windows and shutters. Last year we used another company so I can say without a doubt that Midtown is a far superior company in every aspect, price,product and service.Most of all their workers and staff are easy to work with and they really care. They do a good cleanup and seem to like what they do. Seems like the other reviews here did not really do business with Midtown so how would they know what I know? more

Sales man showed up while I was finishing up yard work and spoke with my wife in the driveway. He started with trying to make a connection asking about family and our lives blah blah blah.... I clearly hear my wife ask about getting to the estimate for the soffits 3 times. He finally walks around the house not taking any measurements and I finish up yard work. I ask him for the estimate and he says he needs to speak with us for bit before he can give me the estimate. We had be somewhere in an hour so I told him it needs to be quick so lets go inside and do it. He says that we knew he needed an hour with us and I told him no one told me that. He says he has 13 years of experience and declines to even come in and leaves. If this company won't even give their potential customer an estimate without a sales pitch, I can only wonder how horribly they will treat you after they have you sign a contract. I've asked for estimates from other company's and contractors. After they gave me their numbers I was happy to sit and have them explain how the came up with their estimate. more

he other day we had a Midtown sale rep visit our house to discuss deck options and review some pictures. He was very good at answering questions and did not pressure us into making any deals. During his visit he asked about our fence because it was a vinyl fence and it looked like something that Midtown has carried before. Interesting enough our fence was installed by Midtown a few years prior. The sales guy asked how we liked the fence and everything with our fence has been great except about a year ago we had a strong wind open our gate and slam in closed causing the latch to break. Without us even asking the sale guy took our information down and was going to have the warranty information looked up to see what Midtown could do for us. A few days later we got a call from Midtown and was told that they would come out and fix the latch at no cost to us. Then to top it off the guy that came out to do the latch repair told us that the hinge is also cracked and that he would need to talk with his supervisor about the hinge. We got a call another few days later stating that Midtown would also repair the hinge at no cost. True unexpected good service considering we did not initiate any of the original damage claims. My parents used this company to do a COMPLETE remodel of the kitchen. It was a huge job they could have done themselves, but they didn't have the time. Midtown never actually had a REAL plan. The plan they worked off was a drawing...seriously. And they never checked the measurements so as they were installing they found cabinets didn't fit and the sink wasn't centered. They compensated, but ended up with a lopsided kitchen with a cabinet sticking out on one side and an open space of NO cabinet on the other. Even putting in a door they put in a larger door than was planned which sounds like a good thing, but it ruins the flow and makes the lopsided kitchen stand out more. My parents tried to point out some of the issues and ask them to resolve them correctly as they went, but Midtown kept saying they were doing what was in the contract. They acted like the door being different than the contract was a GIFT to them or something. I wish my parents had withheld payment from these guys cause now they regret not doing the kitchen themselves and are out a very large sum of money. Find another company that measures and uses a real plan. Don't mistake the service either. These guys were not respectful or considerate to my parents at all and treated them like they were stupid. more

The one star reviews are accurate. Do not trust a business that sends people door to door. A reputable business does not need to do that. This company sends people out to canvas neighborhoods, usually ones with newer homes, that are less likely to have a deck or fence installed. These guys go through sales training on how not to get no as an answer. They won't ask you a question you can say no to. Instead they will ask what your next project is in (enter a time period here). Tell them the homeowner is not in. The fake 5 star reviews are written by an employee to help average out all the authentic 1 star reviews. Why are there no 3 or 4 star reviews if this is not the case? It's funny and silly how they try to defend their company in the comments below 1 star reviews. Why don't they comment on or thank the ""customers"" who gave them a 5 star rating? They only comment on the negative reviews. They probably will comment on this one, too, and say that I work for a competitor, like they did in a different response to someone's review. I am just a homeowner who calls it how I see it. more

As a single person I have to be careful. I needed a new bathroom and spoke to Midtown. They sent a rep and he showed me all the products, made a design and answered my questions. I chose Midtown that day. I hesitated but it all worked out. They did a great job and I got all that was in the contract and more. Glad I chose them. Now I know why they have been in business so long. more

We are very happy with the result. The process went off without a hitch. The process took a while longer than we expected but the person from Midtown explained everything in detail and straight forward. We clearly understood everything when he was done. We would definitely contact Midtown again for any future projects and gladly recommend them to our friends. more

I needed a fence replaced. After several estimates from other companies I chose Midtown. After completion of the work I was very satisfied with the job. Several months later there was some damage caused by my neighbor. Even thought it was not under warranty Midtown came out and fixed it and did so at no cost. That is service after the sale. What a rare thing in this world. Thanks Midtown, next time we need anything Midtown will get the call. more

two men at my door , very rude and harassing, actually Arguing with me when I told them I had no projects, but would keep paper for future use, guess what I won't be One man finally left and the other came up to my closed screen door, being loud saying wait what is your next project in 5 years? I told him like I said I don't have one I told you I would keep you in mind. He still kept talking loud as my back was turned to him. I called the number on the paper and talked to Barry Ginsberg the owner, he wasn't sympathetic and he said he did not know who they were. Did not apologize, nothing. The other owner is pat Nelson but he was not in. They need to know they are on private property and when someone is not interested they need to leave. Scare tactics do not work. I actually called the police. And then see the crap work they do in reviews Steer clear.......give reputable businessmen and women your business in st Louis and st Charles county. Shame on the owner!!!!!!!!!!! more

I needed a fence after several estimates I chose Midtown Home Improvements. After completion I was very satisfied with the job. Several months later they came back to fix panels that my neighbor damaged. No Charge. Next time I need any home improvements, Midtown will be my first choice. No doubt more

Very high pressure sales, but once the contract is signed, all the promised prompt and courteous service ends. You can talk to the receptionist as often as you want. Neither of the co-owners will return a phone call. By the sheer number of poor reviews on multiple sites, it is obvious this company's focus is sales not service. Satisfied customers do not seem to be a priority for Midwest Home Improvement. Anyone who has had poor service and workmanship should contact the BBB; they do NOT deserve their current rating. more

This company uses high pressure sales, that in the end, ended up containing flat out lies regarding the project being an energy efficient improvement on the house for which we would get $1500 at tax time. When we called recently about this, they told us that this was not that case and we must have misunderstood. We did not ""misunderstand"", the salesperson is a liar and cheat. Save yourself a lot of frustration, and look elsewhere! more

The windows were dirty and the caulk job was sloppy. The hardware bends when you open and close the windows. Outside coloring was chipping before the windows were installed. I would be happy if I paid about a third the price. Product and install below expectations. more

Workmanship is awful. High pressure sales tactics. Replacement windows don't fit correctly so they covered them up with cheap looking trim and a lot of sealer. Sealer all over the trim and wood and brick. Screens had holes. one window wouldn't shut all the way. Windows not as salesman described finished project to be. more

Everything that they promised was true. Workmen performance was excellent!! Sales staff was friendly and very knowledgabe. Support staff are awesome. Thanks for the GREAT work. more
