I had a small piece on an out of warranty locomotive that needed replacing. Not only did they have this obscure part, but they kindly offered to ore-assemble the components at not extra charge. Total for this service was less than 10 bucks. As for the crying child review... Perhaps if ""Santa"" had done a little homework, some tears could could have been avoided. This guy dudded me badly on ebay. Item did not arrive a refund was promised in a series of emails but it too just never arrived. Why would I post a review like this. Mainly because Ken will not respond to any correspondence or even attempt to offer an explanation of his behaviour in this matter. The whole thing is kinda sad as I actually believed I could trust this guy at his word. more

What items did you have to return? And what ""models club"" did you go to? Because a lot of us BELONG to local model railroad clubs and go there all the time! Your story seems fishy.\r \r I am a loyal customer as well as many others are to this shop and if it wasn't there we'd all be having to go to the ""Other Guys"" which specialize in R/C and have a limited selection of ""train suff""\r more

I have relied on this store to have the selection of miscellaneous track and accessories I need around Christmas time when I'm building/re-building my layout for our family parties. I have to comment on the ""beware"" store review: it's a small family business--it's not Walmart. A train store business model is limited at best. These days I'm sure it's hard to make a profit with the competition and the economy. However the ""beware"" review does reveal something considered to be much lower than great customer service which I find unbelievable, considering the small business owner would want to bend over backward to make the customer come back again and again. Considering the other shops in the area carrying Lionel, I think they do a great job. I guess if you're worried about having to take something back, go to the big box stores or the internet for their liberal return policies. If you know what you want and have no need to worry about returning, go here, as they have the selection and a knowledgeable staff. more

Beware of this store!!!! If you are going to buy anything make sure you are ready to keep it forever regardless of the situation. No refunds or exchanges and they charge a 25% restocking fee for absolutely everything! Even if you get a store credit they charge the same 25% restocking fee!!!!!\r They broke my 8 year olds heart the day after Christmas and they wouldn’t do anything to help try and improve a bad situation. The items I returned were never used, still in the box, never even removed from the box and bought just two days prior. They stood by while my son was crying and the only thing they had to say was “no use crying over spilt milk” They pointed out their very small sign that states their policies which cannot be seen as it is hidden by the cashier that never seems to leave that spot. Now I know why! Furthermore, when I tried to reason with them they got very nasty and mean.\r After talking with my models club I found out they have a long running reputation of being shysters and being it for the quick buck. Most of their business is first time customers that have not got to experience their underhandedness.\r I’m not one to hold a grudge but after how they treated me and my young son I decided I needed to do everything I can to protect anyone that may read reviews before buying. There are many other stores that offer the same and better merchandise and will treat you much better. I wish I would have known about these train robber’s before spending over $200.00.\r Also, after doing some research I found that the only good review this store has gotten was written by its owner. I should have known that they didn’t have a good reputation as they were empty on Christmas Eve! What kind of train shop would be empty on Christmas Eve?
