Mercy Church

Mercy Church has helped me develop a very real and exciting walk with God. I noticed several comments on here criticizing the Church and the college ministry, I felt compelled to post my experience. I have been attending Mercy for several years. What drew me to continue going here was the true, genuine love for Jesus and people the leadership has never failed to display. Prior to this I had never had a daily devotional life or a very real and alive daily relationship with God. This is the main impact my life has seen while attending. God has used this church and its leaders in such a way that I could be personally impacted in my walk. \r \r The negative comments below are somewhat bothersome to read. The Church has a big vision to win the world for Jesus (is this not biblically based, directly from the bible? ) They also believe in building disciples for Christ (again, Jesus did this and called us to.The Great Commission, Matthew 28:16-20). Christians sometimes seem to want to bash other ministries that are bringing the gospel to others because they present it differently (many denominations people). Why is this? If Christians can't be united as a whole and as an example to others, who can? \r \r This church has been the biggest encouragement in my life in loving family first, and friends. This does not mean pressing Jesus onto them if they are not believers. The model is based on Jesus: show them what love is, and why Jesus has done this for you- let God show up in their life. \r \r Sorry for the long post. I love this church. more

Tring to expose false teachers and teachings isnt ""trash talking,"" it's caring about God's children and not wanting (more) innocent people to be hurt. There is something very wrong here, including how zealously this church through ""GLO"" recruits college students. Im grateful for the warnings from Christians who cared enough to take the time. Be alert people, G12 is an insidious and deceptive cult movement. Do your research and pray for Gods truth to be revealed to you. more

This church is a cult who uses brainwashing to make you into one of them. They put down other evangelical Christians for not being passionate and forward-thinking enough. They force you to join a small group and force you to become a leader, even if you aren't a good leader. There is a cultural belief here that says what your leaders say is 100% true and they know what God wants and you don't until you become like them. This church puts some people over others and will encourage you to sever ties with your family, friends, and significant others because they aren't christian, or their beliefs are not strong enough. I went to this church for a year and it nearly ruined my life. Do not go to this church more

Mercy Church has more than I would've imagined. The world can get so superficial and meaningless at times. I am happy to be part of a church that can bring me back to the things that really matter. They are a great group. more

I visited Mercy almost 8 years ago as a young college student. I was interested in finding a church at the time, and my friend invited me. We really liked it, and it's been my home church ever since!\r \r I am continually amazed at this incredible church! I love the positive, faith-filled environment, the challenging messages that help me grow and be stretched in my walk with God, and the genuine people that have come to be a true family to me. Over the last 8 years, this church family has seen me through ups and downs, and even some of the most difficult times I've faced. My relationship with Christ has been formed and strengthened with the help of their leadership and care. I feel truly blessed to be a part of the church family God has given me and understand the value of coming together to see His greater purposes fulfilled! more

Being apart of Mercy Church has truly changed my life. The minute that I\r walked into this place I knew that I was home. I was loved, accepted, and\r cared for in a way I never thought was possible. The people, pastors, and\r leaders genuinely loved me! I had never experienced anything like it! I\r encountered God in a real and powerful way and continue to do so. I know\r that if it wasn't for Mercy's passion and vision for people to truly know\r Jesus, I would be lost. Most importantly, I was given the tools to be a\r leader in my friends and family's lives, and as a result they have changed\r and are being restored. I've been to churches around the globe, and can\r honestly say that there is no better place than Mercy.\r more

Great Church! Mercy Church is awesome. I came to Cal Poly to study Architecture, & during my 2nd year I knew i wanted to follow Jesus, but didn't know what to do or how to do it. A friend of mine invited me to a MercyChurch cell group (small group). Wow, God used that cell group to change my life. Since coming to Mercy, God has totally transformed me. The people i met, the friends i made, and the leaders have inspired me and helped me to become a man who loves God and who lives for Jesus every day. My 2 children are now growing up coming to Mercy Church, and most times when i ask my son what he wants to do today, he says, ""Can we go to Mercy Church?!"" So there ya go... He gives it 5 stars too! more

Such an incredible Church!!!. I'm so glad I found Mercy Church. I've been attending for over 5 years and never experienced such a passionate loving church. I've been led into an incredible relationship with Jesus and now have a relationship I never imagined possible. The leadership at Mercy are committed to helping you become all you can be in Jesus and truly are excellent examples of what it means to live out Christianity as Jesus did. Both Sunday services and the small groups (cell groups) have been great. They made it really easy for me to get plugged in and become involved. I highly recommend this church! more

Best Church! I love Mercy Church so much. I wouldn't be saved or have a relationship with the Lord if it weren't for Mercy!! Great God Loving Church. This church is my home. I know it and love it. I have been walking with Jesus for 17 years; the last 8 I have been at Mercy Church. I would recommend it to anyone. more

I felt right at home, even though this church was different to my past church experience. It was much more friendly and intimate than i was used to and everyone was very connected, but I felt welcomed and inspired. Over the years I have come to be a leader in this church and absolutely love the teaching, the music, the prayer and the cell groups. I have been a member & serving at Mercy Church since my early teenage years. I am now married and serving together with my wife in the college ministries. This Church values the family and being an active part in ministry together. There are so many opportunities to get involved in teams and cell groups to further be challenged in my faith & relationship with God. The emphasis I love the most here is on winning the lost & making disciples. I believe this is what Jesus Christ has called every Christian to do, and Mercy Church is committed to this mission! I have learned to be radical in my walk with Christ as a member of Mercy Church, and not just to be one of the crowd, but be on the front lines fighting the good fight of faith. more

What an AMAZING Church! I first visited this Church 8 years ago and it was amazing. I have stayed ever since! There is something for everyone a great college community, amazing families, youth, and now I have young kids and they want to go everyday! This Church has truly changed my life - well worth checking out. more

Since becoming a member of Mercy Church my life has changed so much in the best possible way! I had never been to church before and wasn't a Christian when I first came but that didn't matter. I felt so welcomed, loved, and taken care of from my first visit onward. It felt like home. Everyone from the Pastors, to the leaders, to the other members are genuinely committed to my success and growth in Jesus. There is passion, life, vision, and purpose at Mercy Church. Best Church Ever! I love Mercy Church! I've been going to Mercy for over 5 years now and I love the heart of the church. I have never met a group of people as passionate for Jesus or as compassionate for people. Being a part of a cell group has been life changing. The leaders have encouraged and inspired me to be all I can be for Jesus. I'm so thankful I get to be a part of a church like this. more
