Best

This place was special. food is excellent. we walked around trying to find the best burger spot in the slope. we passed this really nice lady walking her dog that told us to try ...

Worst

Me and my husband recently went here for a late Friday night dinner. First we ordered the oysters - which came without cocktail sauce or lemon, actually they gave us an empty cup ...

Lacking something... 1/8/2007

This place have very nice decor and quick, friendly service Our cocktails were wonderfully delicious, just \r the right amount of alcohol .The food was below expectation. I had the Salmon, it was over cooked and flavorless. My boyfriend had the Oysters and it was very fishy. What happened to the dressing on the greens? Overall, the food was a disappointment, it's lacking something to the taste. Pros: Nice decor and quick service. Cons: Food lacks taste. more

Delicious Food and Awesome Cocktails 1/1/2007

Terrific food, good crowd and a great way to spend New Year's Eve. We stayed until 2am and had a very good time. Melt is a pretty classy restaurant. A surprise find in the neighborhood. The food was delicious. The chef sure knows his stuff. We were very impressed by the waitstaff. We found them to be very knowledgeable about their menu selections and they were very attentive to our needs. Their exotic cocktails helped lighten the mood and brightened the spirits as we rang in the new year. Definitely a place for future dining. Pros: Delicious food and knowledgeable staff Cons: Limited seating , difficult fiinding parking more

We had a very nice time at Melt. I just had to write about it. My wife and I lived in Brooklyn for seven years \r and we love dinning out. Melt is one of the better places to truly enjoy a great meal. We were there on\r Tuesday night for the $20 tasting menu. It was very crowded, now we know why. The tasting menu was \r absolutely superb. The dishes were fabulously flavorful especially the pieces of steak . It was very tender\r and well cooked. Our compliments to the chef. Great job! Pros: Tasty and Flavorful food Cons: Crowded on Tuesday tasting menu . Make reservations! more

Awful service for Sunday Brunch - Avoid at all Costs 12/13/2006

Attended Sunday brunch on 12/10/06. Sat at our table for 1 hour. after a series of mis-steps, we received our coffee and juice. These were minor issues anybody would forgive. However, service was unpleasant from the start. 45 mins into the experience, awaiting our food, the table beside us got up and said they had had enough. They had waited over an hour but to add insult to injury, they had served two tables that had arrived after them. We grew worried.. Another 15mins went by, 1 hour wait in total. I asked our waitress who informed us they had had a large party in (I saw the party, it wasn't large and the restaurant was only moderately full) and it had resulted in a backlog in the kitchen. She wasn't vaguely apologetic in any way, purely matter of fact about our hour long wait. Then I watched some food come out and the waitress brought it to a couple who had arrived at least 20mins after us. I couldnt believe it. I am a local and this was the only restaurant nearby that offers advantage dining rewards. I can promise that I will never go back again. In fairness, they did not charge us for our coffee/juice but the whole affair seemed quite typical to the wait staff. They were surly, the service was awful. I was really glad we could walk out and go to one of the countless other great brunch options on 5th avenue. Pros: Close to other great restaurants Cons: Horrific service, kitchen and wait staff are incompetent more

Relax atmosphere, and Friendly service. 11/12/2006

This place is somewhat different from the other restaurants around the 5th ave. area, it has good food. It is a bit costly, but its okay. My boyfriend and I had a romantic evening. The decor was nice and the music was soft, good for the older crowd. My steak was abit over cooked, but it had flavor. The portions are a tad small for the money. Anyway, the important things are that the food and service were good. We will come back on a Tuesday to try the $20 tasting. Pros: Romantic, Very nice ambience ,Very friendly waitress Cons: A Tad Bigger on the Portions. more

Great food, Great service, great atmosphere for reasonable prices 11/12/2006

I have passed by this place so often and last night after a faisco at Sugrcane I had teh luck of stumbling onto MELT. Boy was I glad. My husband had the short ribs(delicious), my sister had the skirt steak(grilled yumminess), my friend had the chicken(a lil overcooked) , and I ahd the lamb special(quite good). Their wine and drink menu is very reasonable. I will definantly be coming back to sample their excellent 5 cuurse tasting menu on Tuesdays for 20$. This is why I love Brooklyn! Pros: decor, service, food - good value more
