My husband and I were finally able to get a babysitter so that we could finally have a date night this month. We decided to try Melt for the first time, which was not an easy decision to make for fear of wasting our only night out together this month on a bad dining experience. The restaurant was pretty busy but we were able to make reservations, so it was not a problem. We were so surprised at how shockingly good the entire experience was! First off, the ambience was fantastic; dark, with tiny candles on every table setting a very intimate and romantic mood for my husband and I. It felt as though we were back in London at some fab lounge! We were greeted at the door by a woman who also happened to be serving us that evening. She was friendly and hospitable, not to mention very knowledgeable about the menu items and specials. We ordered our drinks first while looking over the fabulous menu. I had a dirty vodka martini which was the best martini I have had in years! Then the appetizers- I would suggest the wild rice springrolls, they were divine, I wanted to lick the plate. My husband had the tuna tartar-delicious! For dinner, I had the sesame encrusted tuna special, my husband had the Kobe burger. Both meals were so full of wonderfully blended flavors, sauces that just melted in your mouth, they were wonderful! We both cleaned our plates! Unfortunately, we didn't try any of the desserts although they looked scrumptious. We did however allow our food to settle while we drank a few more cocktails- I honestly couldn't get enough of those martinis! Our waitress and busboy were both really great. We had quick service which was not overbearing. Our glasses were never completely empty and our table was never left messy. To sum it all up, the food was delectable and beautifully presented, the cocktails were heavenly and the service was fantastic. Unfortunately, it's not a place I could dine with my 11 month old daughter. But I would definately eat there again!
