We are huge fans of MedVet! We recently brought our wonderful dog, Lily in for emergency and discovered she has cancer. What made this horrible news palatable was your staff. more

I’ve been using the MedVet specialty and emergency services for my own animals, rescue animals, and client referrals for many years. Dr. Barnhart and his staff set the bar so high. more

I have referred many patients to a variety of the specialists at MedVet. I would trust MedVet’s specialists, techs and staff members with my client’s pets and my own pets should they ever need advanced care. more

Shelby means to much to our family and I have always felt like your team felt the same way. It means so much to clients/patients to have that. more

Go to OSU. They don't care about your pet, they're only worried about money. They also don't get results back in time. Also, their dermatologist are idiots. You would think someone who specializes in the skin of animals would know what skin cancer is. Charge you 600 for a skin biopsy, tell you it'll be back Wednesday, Wednesday comes they tell you no it won't be in til Friday. Friday comes and the dermatologist is out of state? Really. THEN after finding out our dog has malignant melanoma, they call you and try to sell you a bunch of very expensive options and treatments, for our 12 year old pup who is clearly dying. They do not care about us or our dog they just see it as more money. more

Theses folks care ONLY about $$$$$$. i know several people who could not even afford the ""emergency visit"" charge ($190) for doing NOTHING. Then the ultrasound they needed was around $350 . holy crap $500 really? may karma come back 10 fold on these greedy rednecks. maybe one of their grandkids will meet an untimely demise and they will be faced with someone who cares only about money. Greed is a deadly sin. As you drive your mercedes around just remember EVERY dog has his day. enjoy your death more

I DO NOT like the way they put you in an exam room then come in and take your pet away. You sit there with no communication for hours alone in a room. The last time I was there with a cat they tried to return a dog to me and then a cat that was not mine. When I arrived they gave me an ID collar similar to a wrist band to put on him. Neither of the two wrong animals they brought in had on ID nor did mine when I finally got him back. I got the distinct impression they were not sure who they were treating. Expensive, unorganized and in my opinion the risk for my pet to recieve the wrong treatment was very real given the fact his identification was removed and they didn't seem to know which animal belonged to who. more

I don't get how they have such a low rating. They're an incredible facility with knowledgeable staff! Yes, their prices are high, but they are an emergency vet facility. Both times we've had emergency situations with our dogs, the staff has been right on it, plus caring and compassionate. Their surgeons are top-notch. Our older girl had a compound fracture in her foreleg, plus the bite from a fight, and they've been great to deal with. Do I wish they were cheaper? Of course I do! Would I take my pets there for emergency care again, knowing they're the only game in town for this kind of after-hours, emergency care? You bet! more

Very satisfied with Neurology 12/5/2011

I have an epileptic dog I have been working with neurology with and Dr. Rheulmann. This is no easy task as it is an ongoing problem. My initial office visit (non emergency) was a little over $200 but included starter meds and an expert opinion. WELL WELL worth it if you ask me. Dr. Rheulmann did and excellent job of decribing my options. The disease sucks, and I am difficult because I don't like the side effect of the meds , but they have been very responsive to my questions and concerns. I am amazed that I we have gone through several medication changes and additions at no additional cost . I know my primary vet would have been having me come in for every seizure and charging me. They want to see my dog in 6 months but have change his meds 4 times at no additional cost for the advice. So I don't think it is all about the money for them. more

all about the money 9/17/2011

The Vet's were all ready to perform surgery for my dog's broken back, she had been premedicated and IV's placed until they discovered that I did not have 2 grand. Then they stated that the surgery was too risky. They will not accept payments unless you have stellar credit. The vet student we dealt with was a complete witch, very heartless!v They would not even consider a payment plan to save my dog's life. Katy was the only kind person we met especially after they found out that we were not wealthy. They seem to only care about the money instead of the animal or in our case our furry child. I would not wish this horrible experience on anyone. more

Another animal emergency center 11/13/2010

I have read all of the comments out there and think everyone needs to know there is an alternative to MedVet. Diley Hill Animal Emergency Center in Canal Winchester. Services such as cruciate and TPLO are hundreds of dollars less and you do not have to wait in line for emergency services. They accept no interest payment plans and treat your pets with individual care and concern. Emergency exams are $89.00. Don't wait in line for help. more

Heartless, Insensitive and way over priced! 2/28/2008

During the hour that we waited to get a room and during the last few minutes we had with our best friend we were nagged repeatedly by multiple people about money and payment. In tears, I had to hand over my credit card to get her to leave us alone to grieve. It is unfortunate that they could not be even the slightest bit understanding during this hard time. Cons: Sensitivity to situation, cost, Front Desk staff, wait time more

If you value your pets life, do NOT take it to MedVet in Worthington! 6/20/2007

Pet has been misdiagnosed 3 times. Has had surgeries that we were told he 'needed' for a good\r quality of life. We have done everything they have suggested, and the only things we have to show\r for it are thousands of dollars in debt, and a pet that might not make it over 3 months. Horrible and\r impatient Dr.'s, absent minded techs, rude receptionists, and total lack of communication. The only\r thing that MedVet is run on is one big fat dollar sign! Shame on all of you. Pros: Absolutely NO Pros. Cons: Lack of communication, lack of knowledeable pathology dept...... just lacking! more
