awesome if you time it right 6/17/2011

Location blows, parking lot is horrible...and as there is only really one doc who sees non 'workers comp' patients you do need to time it right (1st appointment of the day weekdays)....but if you do, in and out in 20 minutes...no hassles...good working class crew...Too many reviews here from snobby UA or GH folks who want a pretty waiting room. more

dont waste your time 12/20/2010

If there was an option for "0" stars, I'd pick it. Everything about this practice is terrible. Starting with the parking, its insufficient, crowded, and dangerous. The staff is just downright ghetto and don't really care. Waiting time.....what a joke, I've. Had to come here approximately 15 times, I have yet to wait less than 1.5 hours to actually get into a room. Today, ive been sitting here just shy of 2 hours, still no room. The doctors are ok, but if u have a choice, save yourself the headache....terrible excuse for a doctors office. more

A business that treats you like family 12/7/2010

I have been going to see Dr. May at GFP for over 10 years now. Please continue to read past the bad points on why I give this place five stars. I agree with most other people about long waits and the place being crowded and I have, on occasion, formally filed a complaint with Dr. May about that. I also agree that the size of the building and the parking lot being a bit small (approx 25 cars I think) don't help either. But does that stop me from going there over and over again? NO. And here is why. I go there to get first class medical care from doctors that care more about their patients than what the insurance company or the hospitals want. Period. If you are looking for anything else you should stick to "E.R." on TV. Please look at the reviews again. Long waits, crowded, unprofessional. Sounds like the description of an office that is overworked and too much in demand. Do you ask yourself why? You think people are flocking there to wait in their waiting rooms or be spoken rudely to or could it be that all those patients would rather wait in a crowded office at Grandview Family Practice than go some place where they can be seen quickly regardless of the medical care they receive? The answer should be self-evident. Five stars - no less. more

Worst Medical Office Ever 11/9/2010

The doctors and office staff are very rude and very unprofessional. Plan on spending the whole day waiting regardless of your appointment. On my first visit a doctor told me " he was only in it for the money he could get from work comp." If you like ambiance of a typical free clinic, then this is the medical office for you. If you have a serious health issue, avoid this office or you may die sitting in their lobby! more

Very Unproffesional 9/25/2010

I needed a physical before starting med school and since I'm going to be a DO, I wanted to go to one and maybe talk a bit during the exam. When he found that out, he told me that I was foolish for wanting to go into medicine, especially primary care. Told me that if he had to do it over, he would have gone into dentistry because "that's where the real money is". I left feeling like I was making the worst mistake of my life! Luckily, he's the outlier; I now know tons of DOs who are great at their jobs and love them to boot. I'm just disappointed that there are people like him out there who give the DO profession a bad name. Find a different doctor; this one hates his life and he takes it out on his patients. more

Great Dr's & Staff 8/11/2010

Dr's & Staff have always been professional & courteous, Those that disagree or complain are full of S**T! more

Shady Office and Rude Service 11/11/2009

Everyone at that office is so rude. Dr May and Bonnie (his wife) are very unprofessional. Some other older lady in front, I think her name is Leslie is very nosy and unprofessional. Why go to an office where the owner talks bad about his staff? Very long waits to see the Dr. If you arrive 2 hours later than your appointment; you will be on time with your appointment. A nurse advised me I was getting a saline injection, is that normal? Being under worker's comp, I don't know if they charged for a regular injection or not. What a waste. They should do an investigation in that office. more

Dr. Holtzmeier moved to Cleveland. 4/20/2009

My favorite doctor in the whole wide world no longer works at Grandview Family Practice. The office said he moved to Cleveland and I looked it up and confirmed that he now practices in Westlake, Ohio. (a suburb of Cleveland). I say good for him. He was the best thing at that place and I can say 100% that the place he practices at now is darn darn darn lucky to have him. Now I just wish they could find another doc as detailed, friendly, smart, compassionate and down right humble of a physician like Dr. Brant Holtzmeier to replace him. more

LONG WAITING TIME 4/9/2009

It doesn't matter what time your appointment is plan on being there at least two to three hours. I have never in my life seen a place so off schedule. Its like standing room only every time I have went, I finally changed doctors and I am so happy now, I can't believe I took it as long as I did, AVOID THIS PLACE!!!! more

Workers Compensation 9/10/2008

If you need a great doctor to help you with your bogus workers comp claim, this is the place! more

I love Dr. Holtzmeier! Thanks Doc. 7/14/2008

If there was ever one reason to become a patient of Grandview Family Practice it would be to be treated by Dr. Holtzmeier. Everything else that's not so great aside (the office atmosphere, staff and location) I feel like this doctor treats all of his patients special. He really cares and listens to my concerns treats me and my family well. We all feel incredibly lucky to have him as our family doctor. Now if they could just do something about the long waits to get to see him. (sigh!) more

Money Matters not People 10/16/2007

My Dad has been going to that lost cause of a place for years against my many request to change Doctors. They can never remember who he is , but they sure remember to ask for his copay .The lobby is the least of my concerns they lost his whole chart once , years of information gone .I think they are there for the money and not the patients more

So much for the importance of the Medical Treatment 9/6/2007

Its been awhile since I have been to this office but I do remember them typically being very busy and the lobby typically being very full and somewhat discombobulated and even some of the staff not being the friendliest but also being very busy. Customer service is very important and I wish that this office would work on that aspect. But I also believe that the three reviews before me are based on very materialistic and overly judemental viewpoints. All of them said that the treatment and the doctor (in particular Dr. Holtzmeier - who is the physician that I choose to see when needed) was good. So what's more important to you? The appearance of the lobby and the personality of the high school educated clerk at the front desk or your health? If they were the only clinic in town that had a cure for cancer or AIDS and you needed those services, would you not go there because the lobby SEEMED dirty? Grandview Family Practice in is a relatively old and very centralized location and perhaps they've outgorwn that space. Regardless, there's only so much they can do about their appearance and the locals. If you're a Grandview dweller and going there expecting cheese and wine at the door...well...why are you even going to the doctor? Maybe you should go to the holistic chakra healer a little closer to home. Ever stay in a $250 a night hotel in downtown Chicago? I've stayed in nicer places in the outskirts of Kansas for 65 bucks...I'm trying to teach my child not to judge a book by its cover...and sometimes not even by the first few pages. more

Never Never Go Unprofessional Staff 8/1/2007

The staff was ignorant and could not confirm my appointment. I am serious I called to confirm and the woman on the phone said quote"We do not have that information,,we do not have computers" The lobby is dirty, the staff was so rude and immature,,one staffer said there was a high turnover rate,,you could tell she was unhappy there. I will say this that Dr, Holtzmeier was a good man only saw him once,,could not return due to horrible staff. Even Dr. May and his wife Bonnie May (office manager) were unprofessional as well. Never go! more

Only in emergencies 9/9/2005

I visited this clinic several times when I picked a primary care physician's name out of a book. Big mistake. Crowded, dirty waiting room and a long wait to boot. I can't complain about the service. I saw Dr. Holtzmeier (sp?) and I received perfectly good treatment for my common routine issue. I wouldn't recommend it for a regular doctor's office, however, if you can avoid it. more

Learning the hard way that not all MD offices are alike 7/15/2005

In need of a quick check-up for my tendinitis, I decided to just visit the doctor's office closest to my house. As soon as I walked in I realized that the place was more like a free clinic than a private medical practice. The waiting room was dirty, and so packed that had to stand until my name was called. Once inside the offices it was still crowded -- there was even a line to get blood drawn. Kinda weird. Meanwhile, the doctors scurried hurriedly from room to room. Still, the medical treatment I received was really very good, and I was happy with the follow-up. My doctor (Steven Altic) even once called the pharmacy when they gave me a hard time over a prescription! All and all, fine medical treatment in a terrible atmosphere. Only go here if you have few other choices or don't mind crowds and waits. more
