  • The Matador is a downtown Phoenix landmark. In the heart of downtown for 30 years. The restaurant's authentic Sonoran Mexican food has won numerous Best of Phoenix awards. It has attracted politicians, actors and athletes, many of whom have become regular patrons. There are many reasons to visit the Matador, its banquet facilities and Friday Night Club. featuring well-known local DJ AL3 and Manic Hispanic. Also featuring the Mariachi Group Tierra Del Sol Sundays 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. The Matador has come a long way since opening in 1976,seating 140 patrons (two blocks from its current location) which now seats 500.
