I have been coming to Masellos' for 15+ years. Tony is very honest and always stands behind his work. I have recommended his shop to many people.

Worst

Sorry I couldn't leave 0 stars. $170 for rear break shoes. $9 for spray lubricant? $5 for a sanding disc? I'll never do business with this thief again!

Trustworthy, Great Communication! 12/4/2012

I've been going to Tony for almost a year. I love the way he explains his recommendations to me - I feel much more confident about the choices I make regarding my car. Moreover, I hear him talk with other customers, and he's always giving them options that save them money, even if it means sending them to their dealer instead of having the work done with him. more

I've known Tony Masello at Masello's Auto Service for 25 years. I've had really good experiences in dealing with him. He's handled oil changes, brake issues, and tire changes, among other work. Whenever I have a problem with my car, Masello's is where I take it. I think he's honest. He gets the job done the first time, and he's fair as far as pricing. What I like is that if I have an older car, he keeps it going. He's also told me when it's not worth putting any more money into it. more

1st Visit 10/19/2012

Masello's is great! We brought the car in early in the morning and picked up the car about 2 hours later. Tony was knowledgeable, helpful, and very friendly. Bottom line: We will be back and will be recommending Masello's to friends. more

Very helpful 10/3/2012

I have dealt with Tony a few times now and he has been extremely co-operative. The first couple of times, he quoted a price for an alternator and a power steering hose, that was more expensive than what I was getting on ebay. He let me park my car in his shop and gave me time to order it on ebay and then installed them for me. It is usual for the belts to develop some slack and that creates a noise on ignition. I have been to Tony's shop and even a year after the installation, he tightens the belt and does a few other minor repairs for free! And, as other reviewers have mentioned, if something is unnecessary, he tells you about it right away. more

Terrific customer service and timely repairs 10/1/2012

I have had to take my car to Masello's Auto Service, on three different occasions since the summer. The first time I took it in, I needed the brakes repaired. I was told that there were additional things wrong with the car, but I knew that. The car is old and pretty worn out. I liked that they did not proceed with any repairs without checking with me first. The second time I took the car in, was because the car was repeatedly locking itself. The mechanic told me that it would be a very expensive repair. He explained that it would be better for me to pay attention to the locks than to invest so much money in the car. The last time I was in there, was in September. I had the car towed in because it was totally dead. The car would not start. I am not very knowledgeable about the specific work that was done, but my car is now running fine and the breaks are great. more

How many people can say they love their mechanic? 9/11/2012

Even though no one ever loves having to bring their car into the mechanic, Tony always helps to ease the blow. He is very patient and descriptive with a diagnosis, and even helped me with the language I needed to be able to convince my auto dealer to honor my warranty for a VERY expensive engine repair. Many other mechanics would have happily taken the job (and money...) themselves but Tony helped me save a couple thousand dollars. As long as I am in Syracuse, I will never take my car anywhere else. more

Very professional and always looking out for the customer's interest. 9/5/2012

Tony is always really professional. He explains what's going on with the car in terms we can really understand. He always looks for ways to make the service cheaper, like if I buy the part myself in and he does the labor, or he can just get it for me. It always seems like he's looking out and not necessarily trying to scam me, which is pretty rare in the auto business. more

An auto service that can't be beat! 8/25/2012

Upon moving back to the Syracuse area recently, I was advised by a relative who had been using Masello's for years that Tony and his crew were above excellence. And they are! Above all, Tony upholds the word "honesty" in the truest sense of the word. The staff is not only honest, but capable, reliable, pleasant and accommodating. He's not there to take your $$$ unnecessarily -- but to do the right thing for his customers. I was told if you have a good mechanic in your life, you're lucky -- and I feel so fortunate to have found Masello's Auto Service. I trust them to the utmost! more

I don't know a whole lot about cars and the fact that I can just take it to Masello's and trust their work means a lot. Anthony has worked on both of my cars. I would never go anywhere else. I trust their work and they're always on budget! more

Great service, no surprises. 7/25/2012

Masello's Auto Service is great. They estimate very well, and they don't surprise you later on with a higher bill. If something is going to be done differently, Tony fully explains it and gives you options. If you can wait on one repair and you really need another, he'll explain that too and provide enough information to help you decide, so you feel like you have some control over the situation, even if your car still needs fixing. more

This one's a keeper! 7/13/2012

A good garage is harder to find than a good woman, don't let this one get away. The overwhelming number of positive reviews led me to give Tony and his staff a chance and it turned out to be the best decision I've made in a long time. If you're looking for honest, considerate, knowledgable and professional auto care then you owe it to yourself and your vehicle to give Tony and his staff the chance to show you just how worthy they are of the rave reviews they're getting for their hard work. Trusted Mechanic 6/13/2012

I have moved eight times in the last ten years for my job. One thing I've learned is to talk to the locals as soon as I can as I settle in to my new community. The first thing I ask "who can I trust with my car if I need maintenance?" My landlord recommended Tony. I can honestly say that my first converstation with him on the phone had me convinced that I had to look no further. Upon meeting him and his mechanics I had no worries about my auto needs. I've been going to Tony's shop since he was on Butternut and i've always done right by his work. His guys have been with him for years and all are really good at their jobs. They go out of their way to make taking you vehicle into the shop as easy as possible. more

My service today was inspection, emergency break lines, and oil change. I have been relying on Tony and his family to keep my cars safe and in top condition from the beginning. 6/1/2012

Tony has known every one of my cars, from my Chevelle to my Camaro and all of the ones in between. I have had all services completed at Masello's, from inspections, to the most complex of repairs, or just having Masello's check out a car that I was thinking of buying, I have never trusted anyone more to make sure my family and I were safe on the road. The service is the best, friendly, honest and extremely customer oriented! Tony and Donna know what it is like to raise a family, and deal with repair costs, they treat their customers like family, never overpriced or unnecessary work, always the highest quality of repair or opinion. more

We love Masello's Auto Service. We send a lot of people to them. We have been using them for over 20 years now. They are extremely accommodating. They try to make any repairs at the least expensive price, while doing it the right way. They are good about telling you if the work is not worth doing, when they think the repair will cost more than the car is worth. They are very friendly guys. My car is always clean when it is done, on the inside and out. If there is a problem after you get the car home they handle it very professionally, and make sure to resolve the issue. more
