More than disappointed... 2/1/2011

I booked the upstairs function room for my sisters surprise 40th birthday party. I had never been to Martha's but friends and family had been to the restaurant and rated the experience average to above average. Unfortunately, no one had attended a function in their upstairs facility or else maybe I would've been warned. The wait staff was rude to my guests and completely inefficient. 10 minutes into the buffet dinner there was no food to be found on the buffet and when I went to find the wait staff I found them texting on their cell phones in the kitchen. When the food was finally replenished it was cold, not luke warm, cold. Not only that but there wasn't enough cold food to go around. I ordered the buffet for 60 people, had 50 attendees and yet somehow we didn't have enough food. Even dessert was a debacle. I order apple pie for 60 guests. The wait staff brought out 10 pieces of pie, literally 10 pieces. When a guest requested more pie the wait staff told them to wait for the birthday cake. The birthday cake was something that I brought and paid for as an addition to the dessert options. The fact that there was also a birthday cake does not mean we should not have been served the apple pie for 60 people which I PAID FOR. The worst part of the entire situation is I brought these issues to the attention of the function host, who was actually great to work with and asked her to discuss it with management. I even filled out the survey they sent me with all of the details of the nightmare of an experience and I heard from no one. Net-net, if you want your guests to be treated with respect and them to enjoy a warm fulfilling meal, DO NOT have your function at Martha's Exchange in Nashua, NH. more

Terrible. 8/20/2008

I have refused to leave a tip only once in my life, and this was it! We would be passing thru Nashua, and wanted a nice place to eat. We found Martha?s online, and it looked awesome. After an exhausting day, all we wanted was a relaxed late afternoon lunch before heading off on a long weekend. What a disappointment. The food was boring, portion size unimpressive at best. The ?Shrimp and Crabcakes on a Salad? was a bad joke. (Not ?Shrimp and crab ground up in cakes?) The waitress delivered 4 small crabcakes on a salad, SEVERELY small for what Martha?s was charging. We asked ?what happened to the shrimp?, and the waitress (Brittney) paused, and said, ?What shrimp? Uh, yeah, they are in the crabcakes.? It took her more effort to lie than it would have for her to deliver some shrimp! We were so exhausted, we did not have it in us to fight. We would have asked for a ?manager?, but it did not appear anyone over the age of 21 was on duty. Even tho she passed our table repeatedly, she refused to make eye contact, never mind get us water, never mind refill our drinks, never mind offer to make it right. That cost you the tip, Britney, and forced me to out of my way to write a negative review online. more

Great Brew Pub 9/7/2007

We enjoyed our visit to Martha's exchange. Great service, great food, great atmosphere. A variety of foods and beers. Their own beers are great. I really enjoyed the steeplechase porter. We'll be back. Pros: Their own beers, Ambience, Service, Food Cons: Parking can be a bit of a walk from the Brewery on busy evenings. more

amazing food 8/26/2007

we went to marthas sat aug 25, it was amazing.the menu was very extensive, anything from filets $20 to a bistro menu with featuring items like balsamic tilapia, to tenderloin medalions. we ordered a bottle of greg norman merlot $ 28 ( very reasonable we think) and beef crostini for an app. instead of bread the waitress, who was very attentive, sweet, and by the way adorable, brought out a complimentory app. it was a rectangle plate with olive tapinade dip, dill pickled cucumbers with onions and red peppers served with corn chips,it was unique and very tasty. I loved it! The beef crostini was served on a square plate with 4 grilled slices of french bread, on top was a healthy portion of small pieces of tenderloin in a garlic and shallot light sauce,in the middle was a mixed greens. ( we gave it a 4). We ordered entrees, GRaetella chicken and\r ducale steak. I want to tell you these were the most amazing dishes i have had for double the price anywhere in boston. I think the chicken was $ 17 and the steak $ 19. they were both presnted with the mashed potato as a base with main course tiered on top. the sauce spooned on top. the sauces are difficult to explain but we could not get over how tasty. the atmoshere was fun and inviting. we give 5 stars,\r and we are picky.\r \r \r \r \r \r \r \r \r \r \r \r Pros: food, service more
