Great place for first time buyers who are seriously considering making a purchase. What made my experience so grand was a certain individual who was relatable and very friendly, I felt like I've known him for years yet I've just met him. Mr. Bishay will make you comfortable and will make you feel like as like if your not he's not happy, and I wasn't just dollar sign, which is that little cherry on top. Thank you Michael Bishay. more

Great place to buy a car. I went in looking to test drive, and Michael Bishay was super helpful. he was very knowledgeable, not pushy, and when it comes time to get my car, I will definitely be returning to MDR Toyota and buying it from Michael. more

I'm in need of a new car but I'm so indecisive as to what I need to look for in a car. A friend of mine bought a car from this guy Doug R that works there. So I asked him questions, he was fully knowledgable about the cars and very easy to talk to. I didn't feel like I needed to be a mechanic to get what he was saying. When I'm ready to buy the car I will be back to see him. Thanks Doug R! more

Do not go to this dealership for service. I have had my car serviced at MDR Toyota many times and have always been satisfied. But after my most recent experience, I will NEVER take a car there again. more

This is a great dealership. I called on the phone to get information about the new plug in prius. I came in and purchased my new car the next day. The technology on this car is amazing. Kevin and Brian were really helpful. I was given a great deal and the service exceeded my expectations. I highly reccommend this team! more

Great Buying Experience and loving my new 2012 Corolla LE 2/25/2012

While I went in to Marina Del Rey Toyota on President's Day wanting a used car, I am the proud new owner of a brand new 2012 Toyota Corolla LE. Boy it was love at first drive. For about a month now I've test driven a Honda Civic?which I felt was sluggish?a few Hyundai Elantras?which I liked and was seriously considering especially due to their 10 year/100,000 mile warranty?and about a year ago I test drove a Ford Focus?which was also a serious contender. But when Tino Santiago showed me to the 2012 Corolla and I test drove it, I knew this was the car for me ? it felt great, it drove great, it just felt like such a higher quality than the Elantra. Now that I've been driving my new Corolla for about a week now, I'm totally loving it. The bluetooth connection to the radio is one of my favorite features, because I like to talk to people a lot when I drive. Everyone I've talked to so far says they cannot tell I'm on bluetooth, that it does not sound like a speaker phone, it sounds crystal clear. I also really like the function on the dashboard that tells you the MPG you are currently driving, because it helps you figure out how to drive more efficiently, as well as the function that tells you approximately how many miles are left on your gas tank. On a full gas tank I believe it read somewhere between 365-390 miles .... that is awesome. The most I ever got on gas fumes in my old car was between 210-225 miles. After test-driving, Bradley Garfinkel then took over as my sales rep. I can't sing his praises enough: Bradley is an EXCELLENT sales rep for Toyota and he truly went above and beyond taking care of all my concerns, providing services like a wash and gas tank fill up, hooked up my phone to the bluetooth radio, even followed me to my home to deliver the car (since I didn't have a 2nd driver), and called me the first week to follow up and make sure I was happy with my purchase. He should definitely be rewarded for his absolute patience and overall service to me (if you know me then you know I come prepared with a lot of research and questions). Bradley and the whole team that helped me on Monday, President's Day, at Marina Del Rey Toyota?including Tino Santiago, Brian, and Scott Richards?are a credit to the Toyota sales team and if you come here to Marina Del Rey Toyota to buy, definitely set up an appointment with Bradley, he'll take care of you. I got a great deal on President's Day! In addition, I feel like Toyota is a more solid company than the competition I was looking at. That is why I made a last minute change to the Toyota Corolla after looking at the Elantra for about 2-3 weeks. I also asked around and realized that my Mom has owned three Toyota Corollas in her lifetime and loved them and my cousin's finance turned me onto Toyota when he told me his close friend was very happy with his Camry and that he was going to be seriously considering a Camry or Corolla as his next car.? My fiancee's parents have owned nothing but Toyotas, both Corolla's and Camry's for many years and currently have 3 right now (one for my fiancee's sister). When I wrote into Toyota Motor Sales, Inc. (corporate), they answered me very quickly, answered all my questions very professionally, and the rep gave his full name. That just made me feel better about Toyota as a company. Overall I'm very happy with my purchase and look forward to a long fruitful relationship with Toyota and Marina Del Rey Toyota. more

Two bad experiences with just one car 10/29/2011

In 2009 I decided to make use of the Cash-for-Clunkers program to buy a Yaris. I had just graduated so I planned to use Toyota's recent graduate rebate. The Cash-for-Clunkers program made it pretty hard to buy sub-compact cars for a while because everyone was buying them up. So when Marina Del Rey Toyota refused to budge from the MSRP on the Yaris they had in stock, I was disappointed but not terribly surprised. I ended up buying the car, and was treated with the attitude of an average convenience store checkout person. The woman screaming at the sales staff twenty feet from me as I signed my paperwork should have been a warning sign. A week or two after I purchased the car (and presumably had allowed my old truck to be turned to scrap metal), the dealership calls to tell me that Toyota is not honoring the Recent Graduate rebate because of the particular school I attended. They told me I needed to come in and renegotiate! This, after they gave me absolutely $0 off MSRP. I told them that I'd be happy to take my old truck back if they preferred, but I wasn't going to renegotiate on a car I was overcharged for in the first place. They said they'd call me back, and never did. Until a few weeks ago, that is. I got a call telling me that they were interested in buying my car back from me. I was not particularly responsive to the first couple of calls. But the salesperson was very insistent, calling me many times. He told me they really needed my specific car for a good repeat client, and I'd be doing him a favor to come in and get an appraisal. I decided to think about it, but when I ran the numbers on what it would cost me to get into a new car to replace my Yaris, I realized it wasn't going to be worth it. The next time the salesperson called, I told him this. I also told him I lived in Long Beach and that it was a big time commitment to stop in to get the car appraised. He then told me all about the specific people who wanted the car and how important it was that he get this car for the family's daughter. So much so that he promised me a quote for my 2009 Yaris that was "significantly over market value" and that they would take a loss on this car just to keep this top-tier client. And, of course, he promised an unbeatable deal on a new replacement car, insisting that he felt I would be happy to make the deal to sell back the car and buy a new one. Today, I went back to Marina Del Rey Toyota for the first time since I purchased my Yaris. (I wasn't about to have my car serviced there after the buying experience I had had.) I gave them my car to appraise, and chose the car I would replace it with (another Yaris). Based on my research, "market value" of my 2009 vehicle is about $12,500. Of course, this is very subjective when speaking about a used car. When the salesperson came back with the "deal sheet", the trade in appraisal given to me was $8000! Not only is this clearly not "significantly above market value" for the car, it's well below any estimate I could find online for the car, including for dealer trade-ins. Guess what the "unbeatable deal" for the replacement vehicle was? You guessed it, MSRP! I was out of my seat to walk out the door when the salesperson asked me to wait to see the Sales Manger. I did, and when he came, he basically scolded me for expecting any deal that even vaguely resembled the one I had discussed over the phone with the salesperson who had called me. When I mentioned I had been told that they were ready to take a loss on my car to keep a good long-term client, he just stared at me blankly. I couldn't get out of there fast enough, having spent many hours of research and financial calculations, in addition to an entire morning of my life driving 80 miles round trip to the dealership, all in response to what was basically a sneaky sales pitch. So, I have had two pretty terrible experiences with this dealership in the course of buying just the one c more

Go see Richard Garcia if you want a Toyota! 4/4/2010

I bought a 2010 Prius yesterday 4/3/10. Fantastic buying experience. I found Richard Garcia through another satisfied buyer on Priuschat. Like most people, I spent a lot of time researching and calling around. Even though he was a fair distance (I'm in OC), I thought it was worth at least a call due to the positive response on Prius board. Really didn't expect a better deal from a dealer in Los Angeles. Boy was I wrong. My conversation with Richard took less than 5 minutes and by the end we had a deal on Prius III that was better than what I was quoted from OC dealers on a Prius II! That wasn't the whole story, Richard offered to pick me up and drive me to the dealership. Worked out great as my wife and the kids had plans. At the store, the deal was as agreed upon on the phone. Though I was pretty sold on the car, Richard still wanted to make sure we took a good long test drive to be sure that this was the right vehicle for me. That's professionalism! Excellent experience. In and out of there and on the road as a satisfied buyer. So far no one on Priuschat has posted a better deal, so that says something. If you're in the market for a Toyota and want no hassles and great deal, call or go see Richard. I know the next time, Richard will be my first call. Pros: Great service. Great guy! Cons: None more

Terrible Oil Change Experience 9/27/2008

When I checked in, the service writer I had an appointment with was late, so some other personnel just logged my car in and gave me a receipt. They did not check the bodywork of my car for dents, etc, which is a standard procedure to ensure the owner that the dealership acknowledges the condition of the car going in and that any damages to the car while in the garage will be the responsibility of the garage. I was never called back by the service writer to verify my car was ready to be picked up. I had to call myself just before I left work to ensure the car will be there. When I went to the cashier to pay, the cashier was not very friendly and very slow to react to my presence at the window. Her first words to was "Name...", in an impatient and surly manner. When I saw my car arrive, I also notice there was no courtesy carwash unlike every other dealership I have been to for service. In fact, the worse part of the experience was there was greasy hand prints all over the car body and black greasy fingerprints on the driver side seat and the passenger door fabric! I quickly waved back the driver who delivered the car and complained about the grease marks on the fabric seat. Without a verbal response, grudgingly went back in and brought out an old solvent soaked rag to wipe off the driver seat prints and went on his way. When I pointed out the passenger side door, he gave me major attitude and said that the machanics would never enter the passenger side doors and that the grease stain was not theirs and walked off in a huff. The next day, in bright sunlight, I also noticed a very pronounsed scuffed area of vinyl at the lower portion of the glove complartment. It looks like a scuff that may have been made by the sole of a shoe of someone sitting at the passenger seat. I am very dissapointed at the scuff marks since it canot be repaired and its a brand new car. I will never go back . more

Positive Test Drive Experience 8/29/2008

I went to Toyota to do some test driving and I honestly had no idea what to expect because I've never shopped for a car before. Brandon Vellandi ended up helping me and he couldn't have been nicer and completely understood when I said I wasn't buying today and that I was just starting my research. He seemed to know his cars and gave me the base model of the Corolla to try out. After deciding I wanted a car with a bit more power he suggested the Camry which I liked a lot better. I felt very at ease with him, he didn't try to find out how much I made, how much monthly payments I could afford, etc. Unfortunately I think I might end up going with the Honda Accord but if my heart was set on the Camry I would definitely give him first shot at making me an offer. (I wish that the other salesman and woman at Nissan and Honda were like him!) Pros: No pressure test drive Cons: Since I just test drove the car and didn't do any negotiating, I have no cons more
