NOT A GOOD CHOICE unless your family member can INDEPENDENTLY dress, walk, eat, bathe, and most importantly advocate for themselves at this facility (or you can be there with them ALL day/everyday). My family member was here about 2 weeks. Long enough to starve and dehydrate to death. I believe that only during visits from family members did he eat or drink and quickly his health deteriorated and he passed away. When he was admitted he was talking, eating and walking with a walker but all with some assistance due to decreased strength and fatigue from a stroke. He went to get stronger to go home. The MD or PA comes only once a month, so no one is monitoring the medical condition of the patients unless your own doctor comes to check. NO ONE monitors or keeps track of food and water intake, urine output, or for signs that something is wrong. He contracted C-diff (which is common in SNF) and skin was raw on thighs and back where he just laid in bed. During my visits, I overheard One woman so sweetly asking for a bath. She stated that there was a mishap the day before and no one came to bathe her so it had been 4 days. The desk clerk told her she would have to wait until tomorrow.
