Our Favorite Mexican Restaurant 10/8/2009

I'm a little baffled at some of the reviews I've read for Manny's and felt compelled to write my own. We have been going here for a couple of years and on average eat here once a month. Not once have we had a bad experience and my husband and I and a great deal of our friends consider it the best Mexican food in Frisco. Not all restaurants can be perfect 100% of the time and customers who have had a bad experience are much more likely to write a review...that is understandable. It is my belief that those are one off situations and that if you give them a chance you will be pleasantly surprised. Who knows..you might just find your next favorite restaurant just like us. Pros: Great Food, Atmosphere & Prices more

Food is usually good, service is awful 8/24/2009

It's a nice environment, and the food is generally good, but it seems to be restaurant policy to overcharge. Additionally, mistakes with orders are common, and the management/owner, is not the most gracious person to deal with it. In one instance, which has sort of become a legend in our family, the restaurant overcharged my dad's credit card, and my dad complained to the man whom we believe to be the owner. My father asked him, ""What's my recourse here?"" The owner angrily retorted, ""You a'int got none!"" I admit, it's kind of a funny story, but that whole incident turned our family off to the place. My father is a reasonable man and a good, regular customer who became sick of being overcharged by one of his favorite restaurants. And the owner chose to treat him like that? Maybe the guy was having a bad day, but regardless, it's still unwarranted. There are a multitude of superior restaurants in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. We've enjoyed trying all the new and different places where the staff is a bit friendlier, the food is a bit better, and the price on the menu is the price that ends up on your bill. Pros: Decent food Cons: Poor service, unfriendly mgmt.; often overcharge more

Good food for a decent price, Ask for the patio 3/31/2008

We regularly drive up to Manny's from Plano for a fun Mexican food experience. This place isn't upscale like Taco Diner or Mi Cocina, nor is it common and boring like On the Border or any other chain restaurant. The food is better than OTB for maybe a little bit less cash. The margaritas are small, but one of the best house margaritas I've had. The patio, my favorite place to eat, makes you feel like you're closer to Mexico than Oklahoma. I've never had bad service, but there can be a wait on Friday and Saturday nights. I choose to pass that time by with a margarita available from the host. more

Killer burritos! 11/24/2007

The best place in Frisco! Wow, huge burritos, rich spicy salsa, warm chips and great service. I love the Happy hour too! Someone below must have either been having a bad day or got fired from this place because that review is so bogus it is suspect! I come here all the time and it rocks!!!!! Pros: Love love love the Patio too! more

Fair. Poor service, average food. Delecious margaritas, but super small servings. 9/2/2007

There were 7 of us seated outside at two tables pulled together . We were quickly served with salsa and one small basket of chips (remember 2 tables?). The chips were hot and very good. The salsa was water-thin and tasty. The waiter took over 15 minutes to get our drink order and another 15 minutes to bring the drinks. When the food was served, we had to tell the waiter to bring silverware. The rice was undercooked and tough. The margaritas were served in a small wine glass and contained about 4 ounces - for $3.50. They were very good, however. Service throughout the evening was very poor. Perhaps it was because we were outside with the birds, fire ants, mosquitoes, and hundreds of flies. The outside tables are typical metal tables on a patio. The chairs are great for relaxing and leaning back, but not for eating from a table. Food was average to below average. The enchiladas were almost as good as the ones in the frozen TV dinners, but not quite. They were rolled in a tough tortilla and contained only tastless ground beef and covered in chili. Presentation of the food? None. The food was just put on the plate. Soft drinks run $1.65 but they do refill for free. I have eaten at many good Mexican restaurants, but this is not one of them. However, there was a long wait to be seated inside, so many people must like it. Try it and see for yourself, but for me, I won't be back. Pros: Tasty margaritas, but the smallest I have ever been served anywhere. $3.50 each. Cons: Extremely poor service. It may have been only our waiter or being outside. more

Was not impressed 11/4/2005

A group of 5 went for lunch, three of our orders were incorrect, the table next to us was also complaining... I had fajita nachos - the chips were soft and soggy.... Pros: Price Cons: Bad Food, Poor Service more
