Great Place 12/5/2009

The manager referenced in the negative comments is no longer at Main Line Pet Spa. The staff is wonderful - they love the animals (drop my dog off and go next door to the hair salon - I've popped in when I wasn't expected and always see one of the staff petting or hugging one of the dogs or cats). My baby gets a great cut and is loved by the staff - wouldn't take her anywhere else! Pros: Love animals, GREAT staff more

good staff, good work 11/14/2009

Just ignore those one star reviews -- it's a whole new situation. Pros: They know how to handle animals and deal with customers. more

Really love it! 9/25/2009

My little sweetie looks great! A friend of mine recommended Main Line Pet Spa. I wasn't happy with my groomer who is also in the area. I wanted to stay close to home. All of the staff there are so nice. They really were wonderful, explaining the process, asking me questions about the type of cut I wanted for my baby -- and she came out looking just like I wanted! I am so happy that I found them. I would highly recommend them to everyone. Pros: Friendly staff - they really love dogs and know how to groom more

My dog got the best haircut! 3/26/2009

This was such a great experience! My little dog is usually so nervous but the staff put her (and me) at ease! They were so loving and concerned. Very patient. They took the time to listen to what I wanted and made suggestions too. The cut was great! Very professional. I couldn't have been happier with the staff and service. Will definitely go back and refer others too. When I walk my dog I get a lot of compliments on how she looks! Pros: Great grooming Cons: had to wait for an appointment more

The manager needs some manners 1/29/2009

I had the same experience: the manager yelled and said she did not know the owners name and she did not need my business. I only have one small dog. The owner, whomever it is, should fire her because the manager is costing him/her business. more

The manager told me to get out of the store, she didn't care if my dog got a bad cut. 1/13/2009

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE. I took my dog there for grooming. I have a yorkie. I gave them specific instructions and I actually talked to the groomer. When I came back to pick up my dog he was shaved almost completely bald. I said to the lady that he looked terrible. He was shaved bald. The groomer heard me and said that he had a good 1/2 inch of hair. I told them that I wanted the owners name and number when another lady got involved and she said she was the manager. She told me she didn't want my business and I needed to leave. The entire time I never raised my voice -- I was in shock and was still in a state that I couldn't believe what they did to my dog. I asked her if that is how she ran a business -- telling people to go elsewhere and she told me she didn't care. I asked her her name and she would not tell me, she just yelled at me that she was the manager. I again asked for the owners name and she once more yelled that she was the manager. I left the store and told her that since she would not give me the owners name that I would be writting the newspaper and telling the city about my experience and she told me to go right ahead, that she didn't care. So I am. Cons: dirty, poor customer service, no skills at cutting dogs hair more

Great cuts for my Porty's 9/26/2008

I brought my dogs back when I was called by the groomer and told that the nasty bather / manager was no longer there. The cuts are great and so is the experience. I updated this review on 12/03/09. In 2008 I wrote a well deserved negative review due to the behavior of the inappropriate manager / bather who is now gone. Pros: Dogs love it there more

Extremely Upset 8/26/2008

My experience with Main Line Pet Spa was less than pleasant. After a grooming session left one 3.5 lb. canine almost completely bald and with ""nick"" marks I thought it should be brought to their attention. Cons: Poor treatment more

Main Line Pet Spa 8/26/2008

My mother was dog sitting for me and dropped my girls off (2 long haired chihuahuas) for their haircut. They have been there several times and their information is written on their card. My mom said to do the usual. When I got them back it looked like they had been slightly trimmed but it was very uneven. At $54.00 per dog I wanted them cut a little shorter. When I called they said the girl that normally cut them was no longer there. I brought them back in to someone else for a shorter trim. When I got them back they were shaved. I guess they didn't want to leave any room for me saying they weren't cut short enough, not to mention my one dog was cut by the razor. They wanted us to bring her in to see her. My mother brought them in and was told by Mary Beth the manager, ""this happens, I get hurt too"" (and showed her a bite on her finger), by the ""manager"". She was yelling at my mother to get out and informed her we were ""difficult"" they already lost money on us and ""our cards were ripped up, we're out of the system already"". The groomer in the back started saying she was the one that originally cut them. The manager cut her off and said, ""Don't waste your breath, they're out of they system, they're not welcome back"". When my mom asked if the person yelling at her was the owner she said ""no"" and she didn't know who the owner was. She then said she did know but wasn't telling us. We were very happy with past experiences at Main Line Pet Spa but this was uncalled for. We were not difficult or threatening, we just brought to their attention that we weren't satisfied. I hope the owner is aware of what kind of manager they have running their business. more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG OR CAT TO MAIN LINE PET SPA. 3/20/2008

Main Line Pet Spa used to be reputable. Over the past several months, the place has become increasingly dirty and the employees/management changed. I have had several instances where the employees, especially the so-called ""manager"" was rude and huffy. I no longer take my dog there after he was returned to me almost bald. When I asked for my money back, the so-called ""manager"" started yelling at me and refused. She then got even more angry when I told her that I would no longer be using their services. In fact, she called the police saying that I was trespassing because I was no longer welcome on the premises. When the police officer arrived, he told me that ""this is not the first time that he has been called to the Main Line Pet Spa,"" and recommended that I no longer bring my dog there for grooming. In fact, when the so-called ""manager"" came out to talk to the officer while I was there, he was less than thrilled and ordered her to wait inside. The Main Line Pet Spa's reputation is horrible. I should have listened to others when they warned me. I had a huge concern that its groomers were always leaving, management is always changing, and they insist on not allowing you to see the dogs as they are groomed. There are other reputable places in the area. Do not waste your time with Main Line Pet Spa. more

Horrible grooming 3/4/2008

I was definitely not thrilled with Main Line Pet Spa, and have since decided to take my dogs to Petsmart. They are more pet friendly and do a MUCH better job. Main Line Pet Spa practically shaved my long-haired dog, and he did not even have mats!!! I will NEVER go back. Plus, I agree with the aforementioned comment about bad business management. Cons: The place also needed to be cleaned. more

Unpredictable 12/20/2007

Main Line Pet Spa does a good job grooming our goldendoodle but it seems like they are only in business to make money and not because they love animals. While they definitely are not mean in anyway, nor do I feel like our dog is being harmed they don't act excited to see them and just treat them like a means to end (getting paid.) They frequently have groomers not show up and need to cancel and reschedule your appointment.. When they are short staffed they have the woman who supervises the doggie day care next door step in to wait on customers. This means she is temporarily leaving the dogs in the day care unattended and then leaving the dogs in the groomers unattended in their cages while she jumps back and forth. Personally I am not a fan of the cages - while they may seem necessary our old groomer in Boston had a great system that we grew to love. The dogs were separated by clean and dirty and the dirty dogs could run and ply with each other and the clean dogs could do the same. They were free to run around which eliminated the constant barking which is very unsettling to caged dogs. This past week they canceled our appointment right before the holidays (meaning we can?t get an appointment anywhere else since these places book up fast) and we have decided not to return since we only used them as a matter of convenience and not because we were thrilled with their services. Pros: decent grooming Cons: poor business management more
