We had a gift card and came here for dinner: amazing food! (especially since our gift card covered most of the bill)\r \r They have great appetizers and drinks for $5. All of ...

Worst

i used to like the place but its been getting really weird lately...everyone is pretty promiscuous looking - i don't understand why they dont monitor who they let into the club.

Great Brunch with family on sundays and intimate dinner for two on other days!!! 8/22/2008

I've been going to Minx for brunch ever since they been serving brunch and I can definitely say that they are lot better than what it was 3-4 months ago. Something must have changed and the variety of food accomodates my kids and my parents, which is very hard to do. I arrived around 12:30 p.m. last sunday so I don't know if it was set-up on time, but when it comes to the food, I wouldn't say they are over seasoned. So I guess if you like bland food, don't try this place. My friends were hesitant to try this place after reading previous reviews (couple of months back) but after my testimonies, they decided to gave it a try on weekday for an intimate dinner and loved it. We are suppose to go back to try their new menu next week... so basically, don't let the previous comments scare you off.. give it a try! Pros: Brunch, New items on the menu, view Cons: If you have dinner later at night, you can hear the loud music from outside for the club. more

Sunday Brunch 8/17/2008

We arrived for Sunday brunch at 10:30am, but the crew hadn't finished setting up the buffett, so we essentially waited at our table until 11:00am. The buffett offered a variety of beautifully displayed breakfast items (ie croissants/buns, omelettes, bagels, etc.), lunch items (i.e. pastas, meat, and fish dishes), and dessert. Upon return to our table, the food was disappointingly warm since it didn't have enough time to sit in the warmers. As we stayed longer, the food heated up and overall, it was pretty tasty. For those who are on a low sodium diet, this is not the place to go. There was a small assortment of fruit and dessert and all was pretty good. Service was excellent in that the service staff is extremely friendly and attentive and each time you step away from the table, all of your dirty plates and silverware and replaced with a new set. The ambience was great with a beautiful view of the Glendale area. If you're interested in trying a new place for Sunday brunch, this place wasn't too bad. Pros: Service, Ambience, Food Variety Cons: Not ready on time, Luke-warm food more

Fun Club & Best Drinks 8/15/2008

I have been to MINX a few times and it has been well worth the trip every time. The crowd is great and everyone is excited to be there. There is a bit of a line outside, but you find that at any hot spot on the weekends so it would be best if you get on the MINX?s guestlist on Fridays and Saturdays. The food is amazing and the menu has changed since I was there last... The dance floor was packed. There are 3 bars (two inside and one outside) so it is always easy to get a drink when you want it and bottle service is another option that looked like it would probably be fun. more

Best Restaurant, Best Food 7/31/2008

From the service, to the food and the dessert, everything was perfect. There were 12 people in our lunch birthday party and everyone was very happy and satisfied with the place. Most of my guests in my party had the fillet mignon [melts in your mouth] with mashed potatoes and vegetables, they all loved it. We?ll definitely will be going back and try everything on the menu. more

Best Food & Atmosphere 7/15/2008

We absolutely love MINX Restaurant. We love their food and the people are very nice here. You definitely get what you pay and more. We love their Kobe Burger which is very juicy and FRESH, tasty, yummy burger and it comes with amazing garlic parmesan French fries. Service is great and food is wonderful. My girlfriend and I go to MINX almost every Friday night for dinner and after 10:30 we have free access to the nightclub which the DJ play?s the best music. The drinks are really strong. Highly recommended! more

Best Service 5/23/2008

I have come to MINX Restaurant many times, superb food and the best outside seating that I have seen in a while. The service is great and friendly, from the busboy to server and the manager, they all are very friendly. I love how the manager will go from one table to another and greet and ask how is everything. Very attentive, no pretense. The price is affordable. I recommend MINX to everyone if you want to have a big party or dinner for two. Pros: Unique Menu, attractive staff Cons: be patient for valet when you're getting ready to leave as busy as it gets more

Great Food & Service 5/16/2008

My friends and I went had dinner last friday at MINX Restaurant. The outside lighting at night was beautiful. I felt as if I'm in Vegas. The food and the service were great. Afterwards we had access to the club. The DJ was playing the best music to dance. I had a great experience and will return again to dine & to go clubbing. I heard they have Sunday Brunch as well; I can't wait to take my family there. Pros: All in one attraction Cons: Not recommended for kids ater 9 pm on fridays & saturdays more

Undiscovered Gem of Glendale 5/14/2008

I had an opportunity to have dinner at Minx a few nights ago. Hands down impressed. I am very particular about my dinning experience. If I am going to go out, spend the money, I want to fully enjoy good tasting food and company where the service takes care of everything. That just about describes Minx. The food is amazing. I mean I am picky about my food and all I can say is: wow. The service is attentive to make sure all your needs are met, but not overstated. I did not need to look for anyone, but yet felt a peaceful presence in enjoying my food with friends. We had dinner outside and that added to the whole experience. I take an annual trip to the meca of wine and dinning - Nappy Valley. I can easily say Minx is at par with the restaurants there. They pay such meticulus attention to detail and quality. Most restaraunts serve wine that has been sitting in a warm environment. The wine selection at Minx was very nice and served at just the right temperature. Wine is suppos to be at a cool room temperature and the taste difference is very obvious. Just something to reflect the quality of an establishment.\r As for the service, they were attentive, polite and made sure all was taken care of. Looking around the restaurant, I later noticed the dinning area inside, the bar and then chefs table. This place is amazing. It's like an exprience coming here. Like a restaurant resort. Someone took the time to really put something special together. You can go there with any group, any occasion and will find just the righ ambience.\r more

best happy hour around 5/14/2008

i visited minx on the friday before mothers day, and had such a pleasurable experience that i brought my mom and the rest of my family for mothers day brunch the following sunday. For starters, the place was beautiful, and the music that was being played set a really relaxing chill after work vibe. I posted myself at the bar waiting for a few of my friends to show up and was immediatly greeted by a sharp looking bartender(by the way the entire staff was veryyyy kind on the eyes)I explained to him that it was my first time there and for him to make me anything he liked, he made me a mango mojito, and then another, and another lol. It was really good, and the price was too good to be true, since it was happy hour the drink was only 5 dollars. After throwing back a few of those mojitos and after my friends joinced me we decided to order some happy hour food. We ordered the surf and turf quesadilla, and yes it tasted as good as it sounds, it had filet and lobster in there yummmmmm. and we also ordered the mini kobe burgers, i believe those should also speak for themselves, they were sooo juicy and perfectly sized, with a amazing suace on them. I would suggest Minx to anyone looking for a beautiful and clean venue to have food and drinks. OH i almost forgot the sunday brunch, i normally dont frequent too many brunches becuase i usually leave disappointed, so i usually go to ones that i know are going to be amazing i.e the Ritz Carlton and other 5 star hotels, but minx had left such a lasting impression on me that i decided to give it a shot. It turns out u can get delicious brunch outside of a major luxury hotel. they were offering anything u could think of, sushi, pasta bar, omlette bar, all kinds of delicious italian deli meats and various cheeses, and the service was great too, my old plate would always be off the table when i returned from the buffet, along with a new set of silverware and a topped off mimosa. :) :) :) Pros: HAPPY HOUR!!!, BRUNCH, NICE STAFF Cons: none to speak of more

watered down bottles 5/10/2008

so basically this place is the biggest rip-off, they water down the bottles at the bar...and charge 9 bucks for fake drinks...i complained 4 times and i watched them pour straight out of the bottle, and the thing still tasted liek soda...horrible owners for ripping off customers....then they have the odacity to have a dress code and charge cover... more

not a food destination 4/28/2008

we went with a group of nine and were seated outside by a very friendly waiter who said that he worked in Chicago before\r I was looking forward to some suchi as apetizers as advertized on the website . We were notified that there were no suchis and that they were out of the john dory even though we were the first to come at 7 PM\r The food was average at best , everything was very sweet and the rice sticky and unappealing , also sweet\r By the way the drinks were also very sweet ( the mojito required more lime and the bellini was made with the sirup of yellow peaches in lieu of the white peach nectar)\r the crab cakes had the same red color as the risotto ( tomato sauce or ketchup i am not sure )\r I had heard that the chef had great credentials but doubt that he was in the kitchen or supervized the menuat all\r In my opinion, if the kitchen does not get its act together, Minx will end up just being another nightclub and people will not come for dinner\r \r Pros: service Cons: food more

Great Private Event Space! 4/22/2008

I recently attended a private event at Minx Restaurant and let me just say, ?WOW!? First off the actual restaurant is beautiful! Vibrant colors, spacious with a hip upscale feel. The food was served in a combination of passed and stationed hors d'oeuvres. My favorite item was the fresh Bay Scallop with Garlic. Yummy! The presentation was great and all the food was creative and full of flavor. I grabbed menus to go and plan on trying out their new Sunday Brunch. I heard the new executive Chef Martinez has really put some scrumptious treats together for it. Pros: Valet Parking, Ambience, Food, Wine List Cons: That the event ended : ) more

Happy Hour!!! 4/22/2008

A few buddies asked me to meet up at Minx for Happy Hour which is from 4-7 PM Tuesday-Friday. I thought it was only an upscale dining place, but was happy to see a nice big bar set up right in the middle of the restaurant with a couple comfy chairs and a lounge area and patio that you could mingle off into as well. The half priced specialty cocktails and the truffled-parmesan fries and the classic calamari were awesome. Walked out around 7 PM dropping less than $20 for my evening fix. Heard the dinners great too, going back soon to try it out. Pros: great food, great ambience! Cons: none when i was there more

Glendale club trying to be Hollywood 4/1/2008

Note to Minx, you are NOT a Hollywood club and never will be one!! You should treat people that are willing to drop lots of money in a Glendale club a little nicer!! One would think that if you are paying $1000 for bottle service, they would treat you with some professionalism and respect, right? Well, if you go there with money to spend, expect to get treated like you are doing them a favor for being there!!\r \r I don't think so Minx, with all the awesome clubs in Hollywood, Area, Ritual, Sugar, why would I ever go back to your establishment only to be treated, by your friggin managers and OWNER, like dirt??\r \r Well, I wouldn't and I think a lot of people are catching on that the owners and managers of Minx are nothing but some Hollywood club wanabees!!\r \r You copied your outdoor design from a Hollywood club; perhaps you should mimic their service too or else Glendale can kiss your sorry club goodbye sooner than you think more

Worst Night Ever: I will never go back. 3/30/2008

I was very excited to try out this new place. I had been planning the evening for weeks with their bottle service rep. for my husbands birthday party. We had dinner and the food was great. Once our guests started arriving, the problems started!!! They were not keeping good tally on my list and started turning my guests away saying that I had used all of my free passes. This was not true and I asked to speak to the manager. The Asian guy came to talk to me and was very arguementative and made me feel like I was lying! I spent most of my evening outside fighting with this guy! They had no order and just wanted to charge everyone. When he finally admitted that my guests should not have been charged, he said they could not reimburse me! They have extremely bad internal management and the guy at one door doesn't know what the girl at that back door is doing, so they counted us twice on the list. They take the time to ask for a detailed list of your guests, but they don't even use it! They just count bodies. When it was time for the bill, i was promised that I would only have to pay a 15% gratuity and it ended up being 20%. With the money we were spending, this made a huge difference. The music was not up to date and it just seems like they lure people in with the looks of the place, but ultimately they are just packing cattle and counting the money. They do not care about retention at all. I emailed the bottle service manager who pretended to be my friend at the begining because of similarities in ethnic background, and he never returned my email. I WILL NEVER GO BACK. I was embarassed with my friends. If you are going to even think about planning any event there, go visit first. That is what I should have done. Pros: Great Decor Cons: Bad service, not a good crowd, bad music, all about the money, shady manager more

MINX the worst service i ever got for $1000 3/9/2008

\r \r The food was sub par in taste. The prices were mildly priced for the avg. price per dish was about $20.00. The menu had few items to choose from. We lucked out that our server was average. The service was slow in bringing out our food. We had arrived at 8pm, then by the time our main dishes were served it was roughly 9:30pm. They constantly rushed our party to leave the dining area because they needed to set up for the club at 10:pm. That was ridiculous as well, because I had made bottle or VIP service for the club after dinner. \r \r Again the service and attention was very poor. I had to look for the management staff over and over the entire night asking about our bottle service for the club. You would think if a party is willing to pay over $1000 for dinks and dinner the staff would be attentive to the needs of the party, At MINX do not expect good service. I felt like I was invisible by the management when trying to get our friends into the club for drinks. I spent 2 hours inside the club trying to get the people in our party waiting outside for entrance. The management staff was very unhelpful with this as well. Why would my party wait 2 hours if we pay for bottle service? The general expectation of VIP service and bottle service is NOT to stand in lines. Apparently, I expected too much from this place. I was really disappointed in the service, and the dinner menu. The club service and trying to deal with management was even worse. SAVE your money, pass on MINX for dinner and especially don?t go for the club. I have had bottle service all over LA and Las Vegas. This was absolutely the worst experience I have had out of all the restaurants and clubs that I have been too. \r Pros: Nice decor Cons: Bad service, up helpful management staff more

FRIDAYS @ MINX- was absolutely delightful 2/18/2008

it looks like it's been a while since people reviewed for this restaurant. I am delighted to have experienced this venue. it was an amazing experience, we went there with some friends and we couldn't be more satisfied. The food was a show of its own, the taste was as delicious as it looked, and the service was excellent. they were very helpful and attentive. The lamb was amazing, and the desserts were to die for.\r once we were done dining, it was on a Friday, we stepped into the club area, we had an amazing time, the place wasn't as crowded as saturdays, but it was perfect for me, The dj was great he mixed different genres, and we left very happy.\r i would highly recommend this venue, it was a total experience, everything in one so to speak. love the ambiance, and i'm going to make it a habit to be there once a week. I know they changed management, and there's a lot of improvement so i would highly recommend giving this place another chance i guarantee you'll love it without any hassles. :) i can't get enough of their desserts LOL Pros: Amazing atmosphere, service, food Cons: none! more

Must try the crab cakes. Great Ambiance. 2/11/2008

I went there on a Saturday night for a friends birthday. This was my first time at Minx, even though I live in Glendale. I had the salmon rolled up with crab meat for $18. It was really tasty and the portion was very large considering it cost less than $20...I got a side order of grilled asparagus and french fries. The portions were enough to share with everyone on the table. I thought the restaurant had a very chic ambiance. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who hasn't tried it. Pros: Great food, good service, AWAY FROM HOLLYWOOD! more

Paid less for better food and service 12/28/2007

They have a ""B"". When I inquired about it I was told it was due to plumbing. Now that does not necessarily turn me away, but I found that of the four dishes that we ordered that two were really marginal. The lamb shanks were dry and tasteless and the Kobe burger buried in a loaf of bread. Our waitress although initially attentive could not be found for the last half of our meal as she was dancing near the end of the bar. After gaining her attention to order dessert we were informed that the kitchen was closed. It then took another twenty minutes for her to produce a check. When I got home I noticed that we were charged different prices for some of the same drinks. I could forgive some of these things at a lower priced restaurant. But the pretentiousness of the place sets an expectation that they don't meet. I should also mention that the place is very loud, at times we could hardly hear our waitress, probably due to the semi industrial design causing a lot of sound reflection of the ambient music. And let's not forget the $8 bucks for parking in Glendale right next to the free and spacious In and Out Burger lot. Pros: Valet service Cons: $8 to park in Glendale! more

worst, EVER. 10/29/2007

hm, lets see..........\r empty\r bad service\r female manager is a PMSing btch\r bad food\r overpriced\r disgusting\r ridiculous\r dirty!!!!!!!!!!!! Pros: will probably run out of business soon Cons: everything more
