The Worst Dental Office/Avoid It as All Cost! 2/12/2011

My wife and I got an appointment at early in the morning for basic dental check up. We waited 3 hours to see the dentist. He told both of us have cavities and my wife's crown looked bad. We were surprised because we both had dental checkup and all necessary procedures including cavity for my wife before we left Loma Linda at Loma Linda University Dental School. Anyway, got an appointment. In the appointment day, someone called me From Lovett Dental saying that I had to come in 3 hours later instead of early morning because the dentist had a car problem. I had lots of work schedule but canceled my scedule and showed up 3 hours later. The hygienist did a really horrible quick job for both me and my wife. Then the dentist soent 5 minutes fixing my ""cavity"" I never realized I had before. Both my wife and I now have pain in the tooth where we got treatment. I don't know whether they created new cavities or fixed cavities because we never had any problem there. We don't know whether we have to go back for retreat, ment there after reading all these horrible reviews.\r Please avoide Lovett dental for all costs. more

DO NOT use this dental office 1/18/2011

Back in October of 2010 I took my 14-year old son, Logan, to the Lovett Dental Office in Huble. While the dentist was very nice and caring, I've had nothing but issues with the manager/billing department associated with this office. My son has/had Delta Dental through CHIPS, and I presented the card when I took him for his first appointment. I've received a bill every month since then, and I've called several times to speak to someone regarding the matter but no one has yet to call me back. Finally, I called their corporate office and spoke with Pam, whom told me that the insuranc company has been waiting on copies of x-rays. Supposedly, Judy, the lady from the Humble office sent them off, but the insurance company never received them. Hog wash! I'm sure she never sent them, just like she never returned ANY of my phone calls. DO NOT USE THIS DENTAL COMPANY AT ALL; EVER!!! more

Don't go there!!!! 8/16/2010

Took my 2 year old there for an exam. They told me to sign some papers in case something happened to her they could use restraints, but they wouldn't be necessary because she was sitting very still and listening to the dentist. Then the assistants asked her to lay down and proceeded to strap her down. I asked why they were doing that when she was still being extremely cooperative and they said, ""You signed the papers"". I would preferred they just told me they had to do it either way instead of spending all this time saying it was only a formality.\r When they found out that my 15 y/o daughter's insurance changed they said ""Oh you can get braces now."" I said ""I don't think she needs them."" The girl looked for a bit and said ""well she has an overbite."" Immediately afterwards another assistant asked her when she got her braces off because her teeth were so perfectly straight. They would not let me in the room when they did the exam and did not speak with me afterwards about the condition of my daughter's teeth, even though she is only 15.\r Cynthia in the office called to cancel the surgery to remove my daughter's wisdom teeth 16 hours before her surgery and said they didn't have any idea when they could reschedule. The dentist might be okay but who cares when you have to deal with the staff for the majority of the time. more

WORST DENTAL OFFICES EVER 5/5/2010

I called to set up a new patient appointment and was treated cordially by the facility manager, Mike; however, when I called back to cancel my appointment (after having read HORRIBLE reviews on CitySearch), I was treated with less than cordial service... The girl who took my call, Antoinette (or whatever she called herself- unintelligible speech), not only was abrupt and rude, but hung up on me when I stated I did not want to reschedule my appointment. Upon calling her back to find out why she hung up on me, I was, again, treated with disdain when she said, ""I thought we was through talkin'... You wasn't done?"" Needless to say, I called to speak with Mike and was placed on hold each and every time I called back (5 times); until, on the sixth attempt, I was able to catch him. I explained what happened and he stated that his folks were ""still in training."" It appears that Lovett Dental needs to either re-train their staff or hire more professional and courteous folks to run their offices. If I could give them zero stars, I would! WARNING: DO NOT GO TO LOVETT DENTAL... EVER!!! Pros: NOTHING Cons: Service (or lack thereof) and facility more

Great Pediactric dentist 4/16/2010

Ok, so when I walked in, I thought about turning around and walking out because of the waiting room. We were there for my son's first trip to the dentist, so I told myself if I walked through the doors to the dentist area and it freaked me out, we would just leave. Dr. Grace was wonderful with my son. She explained every little thing she did to him and made sure he was comfortable with everything she did. Don't run away because of the waiting room and the unhappy faces behind the desk. Pros: Dr. Grace is Awesome! Cons: Scary waiting room! more

Worst Dental Experience Ever 12/29/2009

First of all, I was in the waiting room for an hour an a half. After I got my X-rays I had waited 20 minutes for the dentist to finally see me. However, once she was done she and the nurse both abruptly left; neither said a word to me. Forty minutes later the nurse finally comes back and tells me to go to the lobby. I spent almost 3 hours at the office and didn't even get my teeth cleaned. They were extremely impersonal, and obviously cared nothing about my actual. It was absolutely the worst customer service I have received from any business. Cons: Very bad customer service, Impersonal, very slow service, more

Horrifying 10/29/2009

The worst dental experience ever. The facility was filthy - the dental seats torn and stained. The ""dentist"" was a strange, mumbling man who did not speak to me directly... and muttered to himself the entire time. I had to wait 45 minutes - the receptionists were very rude. I had one problem and he said he had no idea what was wrong - I have to go to another dentist now. The complete visit was a waste of time. Afterwards, they gave me a list of problems, totaling over $3,000 and tried to make me sign a form to consent for treatment later. I am not sure that the entire ""business"" isn't a scam. I would like to warn anyone who thinks of going to this place... please, find somewhere else!! Cons: Everything!! more

Lovett Dental 1960 9/8/2009

I had tried to schedule an visit for a previous service was unable over the phone the office manager is so rude he told me he would call me back because there was to many people in front of him at the time I was never called back, I went in to the office and tried to schedule a visit the lady told me i would have to wait because she was busy. when the man came up to the desk I asked if I needed to call to schedule instead of just making an appt he said yes call we have a answering service now. I tried to explain the lady was making me wait just for a appt he was rude and unprofessional he literly told me to settle down like a child I was not treated with respect he finally decide to make my appt he automaticaly asked for how many childern I beleive he assumed me being mexican I was wanting the free exams that they are offering, I will never go back to that office I have switch dental providers they are busy but we as patients are the reason they have a job and they need to mulit task not make patients wait till they finish what they are doing especially if the customer takes the time to walk in to the office I have worked in the medical field for over 15 years and never have I told my patient wait im busy in with something else an appt is so simple just get it done then you can continue with what ever else, but again they must lack friendly customer service skills and must not be able to mulitask like the job requires if their in such a bad mood maybe they need to change fields!!! Pros: Rude staff more

Horrible! 9/8/2009

I had a crown put on and they did not go through the cost prior to my arrival. The temporary crown fell off 3 times and at very inopportune times. Horrible - do not go!!! Cons: Poor Quality Work more

Worst Experience Ever 1/5/2009

I cannot express how horrendous my experience at Fairmont Lovett Dental has been. I went to have a teeth cleaning and was advised to have my wisdom teeth extracted. The following Monday I had my left wisdom teeth removed and have had trouble ever since. After the initial painful procedure - the numbing agent wore off - I suspected dry socket and went back to his office. He applied a paste and said that is should be better in a couple of days. I then had to return that Saturday because, if anything, the pain was worse. His office referred me to an oral surgeon because he did not have the credentials to pack a dry socket. After a day of calling oral surgeons, I was repeatedly told they would not treat another dentists procedure/problems. When I contacted his office again the very rude receptionist informed me that I should have never explained the problem, but just tell them that this was a reffered consultation. I called their preferred oral surgeon back and was told had I done that then he would have, if anything, charged me full cash price for anything he might have done. Now I am stuck with very painful dry socket and nowhere to turn. Unbelievable. more

Avoid 8/21/2008

My service began with me sitting in the dentist chair for 45min until the dentist came and told me she was late because she had been on her lunch break looking at furniture. At least she was honest? I was in for the second time to have my cavity repair fixed since when they did it the first time the filling fell out and I had been in excrutiating pain. I have never had problems with fillings until I came here. The first time I came they did my filling before my cleaning so my face was completely numb by the time they sent me over to the hygienist. Afterwards I paid and went shopping a little around rice village before getting into the car and noticing I had blue fluoride rinse all over my face and they never had the decency to tell me before I left being that my face was completely numb! more

compassionate dentist 7/29/2008

Most people will be quick to complain about things. I wanted yo let you know that if you have a little patience, much can be accomplished. I came to the clinic in need of a lot of dental treatment and have been able to get started with some dental treatment. Now I am pain-free and am very grateful. Gratitude is not practiced enough. Thank you Lovett. more

Lovett Dental: Worst. Experience. Ever. 7/10/2008

Worst. Experience. Ever. Today was my first and last visit to the Lovett Dental office on Kirby Drive in Rice Village. I don't have enough space to write how disgusted I was with the lack of professionalism, staff rudeness, and flippant and insulting attitude I experienced. Not to mention their cancelling my very first appointment, and making me wait for over an hour and a half past my scheduled appointment time until I finally left in disgust. The clincher was when one of the desk staff had the nerve to imply that I should be OK settling for their poor service because ""your prior dentist didn't accept your insurance plan, now did he?"" Amazing. I will write the dentist (who I did not see, Lovett corporate, and my insurance carrier to name a few. First I need to cool down a bit more and remind myself that I'm in Houston and not a 3rd-world country... Pros: nice office, though 2 TVs competed Cons: totally rude and unprofessional desk staff more

AVOID 7/2/2008

Worst dental experience ever. Have been trying to get reimbursment of $350 for weeks. Delays and runarounds every time I call. Avoid this. more

worst ever 6/25/2008

I always avoided the dentist b/c of rude service and high prices but my visit today was the worst ever. I was seen by dr kent and the only time he looked me in the face was when he did the exam. I waited an hour for anybody to see me and when he did he looked in my mouth and just shook his head. I was then ushered out to talk about prices and procedures that needed to be done. I am changing dentists!!!!\r \r Pros: nice clean office Cons: no bedside manner more
