Best

Loved the pan pizza here!!

Worst

I know it takes time to make a good pizza, but after an hour+ wait, and the waitress still got the order wrong! The pie tasted good, but I'll never visit this place again. ...

Lasagna 12/11/2003

Louisa's lasagna is the best I've tasted. Homemade pasta with a taste like manna from heaven. Portions are a bit small but well worth a taste. Her pizza is the best around. Made completely from scatch with the freshest ingredients & a beautiful thick crust.. I've had them all & lived in New York so have tasted the best. Louisa's CAN'T be beat ! Pros: Top Notch Food, great service, incredible food Cons: crowded, not the best parking, a bit pricey more

excellent 11/26/2003

The pizza is the best ever. It doesn't get any better. The crust is light as air, and the flavor is remarkable. The ingredients they use you can tell are top-notch. I would wait all day to get a pizza from here. The also make wonderful homemade pastas that can not be beat. You wont be disappointed. more

Terrible Service - Good Pizza 10/8/2003

I know it takes time to make a good pizza, but after an hour+ wait, and the waitress still got the order wrong! The pie tasted good, but I'll never visit this place again. Get some real food servers! Pros: good pizza Cons: long wait, slow service, got the order wrong! more

CBS2 was right 8/8/2003

I have ben going to Louisa's for the last 22 years. There pizza is the best in Chicago. The atmosphere is excellent. Where else can you go where you have the owner sit down and talk with you. The frozen pizza's got my football team hooked at college and so with my brothers team. It is the highlight of all of breaks when we come home! more

Excellent Pizza 7/20/2003

Me and my husband have been told numerous times to visit this establishment if we were ever on the south side. My husband was going to be golfing at Silver Lakes Country Club, and I decieded to meet him at Louisa's after her was done. To our delight everything we ordered was outstanding. The pizza is better than any pizza I have ever tasted in my life. The crust is outstanding. Everything they use you could tell was fresh. The aroma of the food when you walk in is overwhelming, it makes you want to order everything off the menu. The fettucini you could tell was made with homemade noodles and the sauce was delicious. And to top off our meal we had the best lemon ice that was inside a real lemon everything was excellent you wont be disappointed. more

louisa's pizza 7/9/2003

The high rating appears to be a case of ballot box tampering. The antipasto is iceberg lettuce, a few onion slices, a little chopped up salami and cheese. The homemade pasta is ok, but not worth driving in from out of town. The sauce is also ok: seems to be roma tomatos simmered down in the northern Italian style. small portions... went to Wendy's afterwards more

Louisa's 5/4/2003

My husband and I are hooked on the Pizza. It too reminds me of Uno's Pizza and I always loved their pizza. It is so nice to have a good restaurant in south suburban Chicago. My daughter and son-in-law are also hooked. Kudo's to the owners..they do a fine job. more

ONE OF A KIND 1/23/2003

EVER HEAR OF A PIZZA PLACE THAT ONLY OFFERS ONE TYPE OF PIZZA? THIS PLACE DOES. YOU ORDER PIZZA AND ONLY HAVE TO TELL THEM WHAT YOU WANT ON IT. I WOULD CALL IT A CROSS BETWEEN A THIN AND DEEP DISH THAT HAS TO BE EXPERANCED. IT IS EXCELLENT! 5 STARS! Pros: GOOD PARKING, FRIENDLY, LOT OF CHOICES Cons: NOT FANCY, NOT CHEAP more

Great family restaurant 12/19/2002

Agree 9/4/2002

Excellent pizza !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not a big name pizza restaurant , but it definetly one of the best. They do no advertising and thank goodness otherwise this place would be overly mobbed. They have the best crust and eveything s fresh and they only use the best quality ingredients, and you can tell from the first bite of the pizza. more

I agree 9/3/2002

After reading the reviews I went to try out the pizza. I live in the orland park area and have heard about this place but never tried it. I ordered a cheese sausage mushroom and onion pizza. When it arrived it smelled delicious, and i took a bite into it, the pizza was amazing the crust was so nice a crisp not greasy at all, like a pie crust the sausage was extremely excellent the pizza really was outstanding. This will be my once a week pizza restaurant to eat from. more

Just like Uno's & Due's 30 years ago 8/23/2002

I was a huge fan of Due's 30 years ago but that has all changed. The pizza is not the same as it use to be at all. It is a chicago tourist attraction. If you are looking for pizza that is like what the tops use to be then go to Louisa's she worked for them for over 20 years and opened her own restaurant 22 years ago. The crust is so light and crisp, they use the right sausage and cheese, it is just delicious. Well Worth the trip for anyone who loves pizza. more

Louisa's: Like a Pizza Pie 8/23/2002

If you are looking for the best pizza on the south side, you have to try Louisa's Pizza and Pasta. The crust resembles a focasia crust in ways. It has a light but crisp texture and would be worth eating even without sauce or toppings. The tomato sauce is the highlight to this pie with its unique combination of spices... No doubt a family secret. The toppings are chunky and generous; top ingredients that you can easily sink your teeth into. And of course, there's cheese Not too much, just enough to provide a creamy compliment to their sweet sauce. This restaurant in my opinion is by far the best in the area. I would recommend it to anybody and give it a rating of 9 out of 10. Oh, they even offer frozen pizzas to take home with you, so give it a try. Of course fresh is best. Pros: Excellent Pizza, Nice Atmosphere Cons: Single Location more

Scrumptiously Outstanding Pizza 8/22/2002

Hands dwon they have the best pizza. I just wish they had a place closer to where we live. Our friends who live out south took us there and then from that point on we were addictive to this pizza. Everything about the pizza is the best. The don't over use the cheese so you can actually taste the pizza crust and the other topings it is just damn good. more
