After weighing City Search pros and cons against glowing reviews in 5280, we went to Lola expecting to be pleasantly surprised. Instead, we had one of the worst meals ever in Denver. Everything was cold, WAY overdone/heavy-handed - just terrible. Tuna fajitas were inedible blobs of mealy (once frozen?), cold, rare tuna (and we can eat rare tuna when it's done right), paired with a ridiculous barbeque-like sauce that overpowered everything and dried out tortillas. Scallops and shrimp dish looked wonderful, turned out terrible - cold, soggy seafood on top of watery rice, withered potatos, and more cold sauce. ""Guacamole"" was really just fresh avacados - very little other flavors came through. Service was wonderful and apologetic but the food was just too bad to bring us back. Beyond redemption.
Pros: great service, nice bartenders
Cons: heavy handed, cold food, loud atmosphere
