Hot Spot?? 11/3/2002

Yes LoLa is a hot spot - a hot, tiny, crowded spot. The wait time was over two hours long, fine, good drinks had by all. We were then seated 2 feet away from where we had been standing in the bar for hours. At this point you would think shoe leather and a bowl of lawn clippings would suffice, but the food wasn't even this good. I would have rather eaten standing up and moved to another venue for the evening. Bar - excellent, not tough to screw up Restaurant - ???? never saw it. Reservations? 11/3/2002

We called on a tuesday night for saturday reservations and were told to call when we were on our way and a table would be ready for our party of 7. When we called on Saturday they denied saying that and told us it could be a 2 hour wait. (Two other parties there had the same experience) After spending 2 hours in the bar area, they finally got us seated - in the bar area by pushing 2 tables together and bar stools - we never even made it into the dining room. The appetizers were good but 4 of us got the carne asada and needed an electric knife to cut through it and the sauce it was swimming in was horrible. Overall, a good place to go for drinks but I wouldn't wait 20 minutes for the food, let alone the usual 2 hours. more

Worth the wait? 10/22/2002

The food was awesome. The service was terrible! While we waited (for two hours) the bartender was friendly and gave us complimentary chips and salsa...but service went downhill from there. Our waiter took 25 minutes to get to the table! And although the food was GREAT, our waiter was incredibly rude. He even asked us to hurry along as we finished up, we were his last table and he wanted to get going.... Sorry buddy, we didn't plan on being there that long either! more

FABULOUS! 10/15/2002

My husband and I had the pleasure of dining at LoLa on Saturday night and what a treat! I was taken back to the best restaurants of Santa Fe! The food is phenomenal not to be outdone by the service. This is a MUST! Pros: Food, Service, Price Cons: Parking more

That is what I call service... 10/11/2002

Our waiter was awesome, when asked for suggestions he narrowed it down to what your likes are and then he made recommendations, not just what he liked. He made sure we were well taken care of. Pros: not too crowded Cons: parking more
