My stay at the Graves was amazing! With top notch customer service and posh atmosphere it is a jewel of the twin cities! I will return again and would recommend it to anyone! Rea...

We called at 10PM the night prior to make a reservation, none could be made until the following morning at 10AM. (despite what their phone messages state.) She mentioned the onlin...

Overhyped - avoid it 9/17/2006

If you want to wait hours for your brunch to appear, beg for the easy stuff like coffee and water, and then finally be served bland, watery eggs with nearly flavorless sauces while paying dearly for this and the worst service you've ever had, then this is your place! If you want to impress your inlaws or grandmother, RUN away from this palace of pretension and find a better breakfast - nearly anywhere. Pros: Beautiful room, comfortable chairs Cons: You'll need the comfortable chairs waiting for your lousy service. more

I was VERY surprised... 9/8/2006

to have read the reviews on Cosmos. I took my husband there for a celebratory lunch after he received a well-deserved promotion. I had heard a lot about Cosmos and saw great ratings in the Minneapolis/St. Paul magazine. Overall, it was not the fine dining experience I had expected. I thought the atmosphere was bare and a bit cold. The food was average, at best. I'm a culinary student and to be honest, the food we make in school is actually better than this. The service, however, was exceptional. Service, unfortunately, is not enough to get me back to Cosmos. I'm not too concerned about the pricing because I didn't think it was that bad. I consider my husband and I to be food connoisseurs and have frequented establishments such as Manny's, Oceanaire, Levain, Aquavit, as well as places like The Blue Oyster Bar in Chicago and Crustacean in Beverly Hills. Cosmos was nothing like these other places in terms of the food. It was a bit disappointing... Pros: Service, Location Cons: Food, Decor, Food more

Great Hotel 8/17/2006

I had a chance to stay here during a conference recently and absolutely loved it! They have unbelievable rooms and great service. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for the hotel stay of a lifetime. Pros: Rooms, Service, Plasma TV more

i love the graves 8/10/2006

i called ahead and planned an engagement party for my girlfriend at cosmos. what a great time and we had one of the best rooms there. everyone treated us with great respect, and were so awesome. the bar was great, and a beautiful night to remember, the view from our room was endless, and you will want to stay another day just to sleep in the beds. totally gay friendly, as it should be. i cant wait to take my wife back here! Pros: great rooms, great staff more

Excellent place to dine for! 7/10/2006

Cosmos is what a fine dining experience should be! The beautiful decor in the restaurant and the flawless and attentive service make it a memorable time! I went for a special occasion and it exceeded my expectations! I had the 5-course tasting menu and it was fabulous! The soft-shelled crab with watermelon soup was delectable. The King salmon and veal were absolutely delicious and tender. The dessert was wonderful - the chocolate globe melted with the hot chocolate sauce that they drizzled right in front of you. Most of all, I was impressed by the service - the flow was timed perfectly with little samplers while you wait, it was absolutely one of the top dining experiences I had at Minneapolis! Pros: Great atmosphere, romantic, beautiful presentation Cons: Parking at Block E is cheaper than at hotel more

Very Groovy 6/20/2006

The look is ultra modern with a throw back to the 70's. Pros: Unique design, fun bar Cons: $$$$, small portions, average French food more

Nice, but that's pretty much it. 5/11/2006

My husband and I recently decided to treat ourselves to a long weekend in the nearby Twin Cities. We decided to try the Graves 601 - while we were comfortable, we were...well, I guess ""whelmed."" Not overwhelmed, not underwhelmed, but I don't think we'll be going back. If you're going to splurge on some overnight luxury? Perfect. Spending some time in the area and needing some real day-to-day amenities? I'd probably look elsewhere. I will say that the staff could not have been nicer or more helpful; I cannot fault the Graves for the excellence of their staff . The bathroom is worth the cost of the room. You'll never want to get out of the 5-headed shower, the soaps & lotions smell fantastic, and the men get to have a flat screen during their ""throne time"" ;) Pros: Close to Light Rail, Great service staff, Great bathroom! Cons: So-so amenities, Expensive more

Pretty but unorganized 3/8/2006

This hotel, currently, is in it's own league in terms of Minneapolis Hotels. It's not necessarily the best hotel but it has a very cool, boutique vibe. Lobby is beautiful as is the restaurant, bar, and club. Rooms are also very cool with flat screens, lighted head boards, flatscreen in the wonderful bathroom. The BEDS here are so so so wonderful! My only negative remark about the hotel specific is that the rooms are quite small, very small!! Plus, the service of the hotel is extremely unorganized. On one visit, they could not find my delivery which was six feet tall. They have accidentally delivered my faxes to other guests. Room Service was consistently late and mediocre, at best. Make sure to set your alarm also as the wake up calls are often late. Pros: BEDS, location, restaurant Cons: service, cost more

Great hotel, poor service and value 2/11/2006

First of all, the hotel was fantastic. The amenities were top notch. Hotel bar and restaraunt (Cosmos) excellent. Room service, Excellent and the only thing that was not high priced. The service was ho-hum, the rooms were pretty, but I have seen larger in a Motel 6, and we stayed on the Penthouse Floor! This hotel needs to realize that pretty, and downtown will not keep them in business if the service and value do not improve. If you are going to stay here, which I would still recomend if you will be downtown, go on a discount site to book the room. If you pay more than $300, you will be seriously dissapointed! Pros: Location, Amenities Cons: Service, Price, Value more

A great experience - Veggie Friendly 2/11/2006

I took my wife for a night on the town for her Birthday, and we had a wonderful time. Cosmos was the perfect setting for a nice, romantic dinner. The best part was the attention to detail and the excellnt service. We asked one question about a sauce (my wife is a vegetarian) and the server had great food knowledge. Thier sauce did contain meat products, but they said thay would gladly make a vegitarian version! WOW! The little ""Gifts from the chef"" that you get are another example of attention to detail. They brought out a vegitarian sample for my wife. The server was fabulous, the food devine! We will definatly go back! Pros: Quality, Menu, Service Cons: Parking more

Fantastic. 2/6/2006

The Graves Hotel is still a GREAT Hotel, the service is fantastic. I would come here again and again, it is NOT your typical AMERICANA hotel with the gross wallpaper the country-fied accommodations and mediocre servicethe hotel is modern with a nice touch of classplasma TVs, comfy beds and linens and very CLEAN. The hotel is NOT kid friendly which is really great for the adult traveler who doesnt want to deal with running screaming children running through the hotel or in the next room. For what the hotel is it is reasonably priced ($250-$350 +). It is close to all kinds of restaurants and fun things to d0, The Target Center is right across the street if you have an evening of concerts and such planned, and Hard Rock Cafe is right next door. You wont be disappointed. more

Perfect!! 10/30/2005

This hotel is the best I've ever stayed at, and I've stayed at quite a few. Perfect in all ways. The food at Cosmos was not soo good but service and atmosphere made up for it. more

A Great Experience 10/15/2005

So I went with a friend of mine before a show at the State Theatre so yeah we were there a bit early to eat but it was still amazing. After we ordered we were given a small glass of home made apple cider with taragon oil---MMMM delicous. For the salad we had the lobster salad. It was rather small and came with about 1/4 of a lobster tail with mango, papaya, avacado in an orange, ginger and sesame sauce. Then came an orange ice with a maple/caramel cream. Then the main course..beef tenderloin with mushrooms and hashbrowns. Desert was 4 kinds of chocolate in a warm white chocolate soup! The service was wonderful too. I'll be back!!!!! Pros: Quality, Taste, Service Cons: Parking downtown, Hard to find more

What's the rage? 7/18/2005

After reading several reviews, we decided to try this place. We went on a saturday night in june and the place was dead. We were the only ones at the bar. After assuming it was a place to be seen, I got all decked out, only to find everybody else in shorts. The restaurant is very modern and sleek, but also very small and not very romantic. The food was nothing to write home about. We have been to most of the upscale restaurants in town and this one did not impress us. Pros: Modern atmosphere Cons: Food, Not a happening place more

Convenient Location 6/30/2005

Le Meridien Minneapolis is a beautiful hotel that is located in the best spot of Minneapolis. The Hard Rock Cafe is right next to the hotel as well as Gameworks. If you stay here you won't be bored. The rooms are also very chic. Very nice hotel! Definitely check out this hotel. more

Tres 5/5/2005

Le Meridien is in the theater district downtown. It is also central to shopping, entertainment and business. The ambiance is rich in art and design. And, as consistent with the image of the chain, there is an elegant French/European style service that really furthers the reputaion of "nice" Minnesotans as well as the rumor of rich cultural influence of Minneapolis. Rates are on the high side (around $250 per night unless you have some affiliation), however, if you are looking for pampering and to be at the heart of things, the experience is worth it. more

Fancy 2/6/2005

If you've gone to Cosmos, then you probably heard it was one of the most cosmopolitan, fanciest, trendiest new restaurants in Minneapolis. Well you heard right. However none of the above adjectives decribes the food or service. Im here to tell you that the food was good and service great. I was with a party of 8 on a Sat night. Had reservations at 8:30. Was seated right away, and was amazed at how dead the place was. The bar had about 20 or so and the dining area had people at only 3 tables, besides ours. if this is a typical Sat night, how does this place in business? Maybe this attributed to the outstanding service we received, but nonetheless is was great. Trout was excellent. Although pricey, food and drinks, I'm very happy with the experience. Pros: food, service more

Cosmos 8/30/2004

Cosmos is probably the best fine dining place in the Minneapolis area. The service was excellent, the waitstaff was very attentive. The food was very elegant. The dessert was the best part of the meal. The drinks from the bar were the best I ever had. more

Great Rooms- Bad Service 6/2/2004

DAY 1 they did not give us the wake up call we requested, never brought the extra hangers we needed and never fixed the flickering light in the bathroom. Everytime housekeeping came to our room, all they did is change the sheets and give us new towels. I had a beer bottle that sat on the desk for 5 days. DAY 2 our breakfast was 30 minutes late. Our first call, they said it was on it´s way up. Ten minutes later, still not there. The second time I called they said the time on the order card was changed to 8:30 am. The front desk also could not recommend a good steak house in the area. I called another 4 Star hotel and without taking a breath they we able to suggest 2. Anyway, my thought is, for $250-$350 a night, it is the small details you pay for. Pros: Bed, TV, Views Cons: , Service, Service more

Great Rooms 4/27/2004

I will never forget my first stay at Le Meridien. The view was awesome, the rooms were even better- and not to mention the location. I would recommend this to everyone!! Pros: view, ambience, plasma tv in bathroom more
