Best

The counter person was courteous, and the salad couldn't have arrived any faster! Shortly after, the most delicious pizza (fresh mozzarella, garlic, basil, tomatoes, and baby spin...

Worst

The pizza isn't that great and the atmosphere is worse -- loud and obnoxious and they don't even really have a wait staff. I would recommend going somewhere else.

Best Pizza in Raleigh Period 9/27/2009

Best Pizza I have had in Raleigh. Very reasonably priced. The crust is just awesome. It can be loud and hard to find a seat, but I usually just go sit outside or take the pizza home if I go during the restaurants peak times. Pros: price, quality, taste (best crust) Cons: seating, noise more

BEST PIZZA & SALADS IN RALEIGH 1/26/2009

Just wanted to update my review. Went there yesterday and it's still as amazing as ever!! You might overlook Lilly's--yeah it's a little sketchy with the waiting in an oftentimes to the door line, seating yourself, and having your name yelled out a million times, but trust me, you will NOT be disappointed. You can't go wrong with any of the Lilly's pies. Don't be lame and order just a cheese or pepperoni slice, go out on a limb--you won't regret it. Five Points, Buddha, Green Jeans are all highly recommended. The salads are to die for as well, particularly the Roasted Veggie Salad--it takes a while, but it's totally worth the wait! Pita points appetizer is super dank as well. All in all you can't go wrong at Lilly's. Pros: Awesome pizza and salad Cons: A little bit on the pricey side, sometimes it gets smoky in there from all the pizza ovens cooking that delicious pizza more

Best Pizza in Raleigh/Durham Area! 1/3/2009

It is quite a unique atmosphere! There are pictures from local artists hanging on the walls as well as various intriguing sculptures and items adorning the joint. Lilly's has a very chill ''hippy'' atmosphere although you see all walks of life dining there. It is refreshing to see the State students sitting amongst the ""white collar"" business men and the middle class families. The reasonably priced pizza is the best that can be found in Raleigh/Durham! A very inviting atmosphere that is a welcome ""breath of fresh air"" from the high-end restaurants that can also be found in this area. A place that every local loves and every out-of-towner should visit at least once! Pros: Delicious pizza, Friendly atmosphere, Resonably priced Cons: Parking, Sometimes long lines more

Fabulous pizza!! 12/15/2008

The Triangle's best pizza! We drive quite a ways to come to Lilly's. All of the pizzas are great, and the sandwiches too. Unlike other pizza joints, Lilly's actually has good salads too -- not just the boring iceberg lettuce pieces in a bowl. This place is known for its food -- but not for its high-class ambiance! Lilly's is a dive, but if you appreciate it for what it is you won't be disappointed. It has crazy eclectic decorations and is often pretty smoky (sit outside if the weather's nice), but it's fun if you're open minded! Pros: food, wacky ambiance Cons: smoky more

best damn pizza.... wish you move to orange county!!!!! 12/8/2008

Lilly's is an all time favourite. Sure, I've been there when they played the music a little too loud, but you know? they are artists, they rock! Even when once, in 7 years of being a patron they undercooked my calzone, they immediately fixed the problem. I love the quirky atmosphere, funky art and all the awesome local farms they support. One of the many reasons I eat there is the hormone free meat. I am delighted they now have gluten free dough. I have 2 good friends with celiac, and am Proud to offer a rocking pizza as an option for eating out. I used to be vegan back in the day, and would delight in their salads and the vegan cheese option... yeah yeah I might hug trees too, but Lilly's deserves a huge hug from all of us. Pros: local food, hormone free, organic when possible Cons: ??? sometimes it gets loud more

Great ingredients, but poor preparation. 10/18/2008

I've always loved Lilly's Pizza. My favorate is the South of the Border pie. I drive from Apex to get it. But the last couple of times I've gone I've been disappointed. Lilly's uses all these great ingredients, but if they're not distributed evenly it can result in a bad pie. For instance, last night I thought they forgot the jalepeno peppers. I was wrong. They were on one of my husband's slices. And I got the slice with the chicken, but not much cheese. Do you see what I'm saying? You can't just throw the ingredients on the pie. It's not rocket science, but you do need to make an effort to distribute the ingredients. more

Favorite pizza in the Triangle 10/15/2008

This is my favorite pizza place in Raleigh. Hands down. I take my friends and family who visit to this place. Great toppings, great dough, interesting specialty pizzas, fun interesting space. Yes, sometimes the service aren't the most pleasant, but most of the time they are fine and helpful. Its a little chaotic when its busy with the noise, line, etc... but its all in all fun place to eat. I've had pizza all around the country, NYC, Jersey, Chicago, Cali, and Lily's is def top 5 favorite pizza places ever. Pros: Amazing pizza, local art for sale, really casual Cons: Service can be a little cold at times, can get chaotic more

Damn Good! 9/19/2008

The prior review - family unfriendly / bad service - is not to be believed. This same father cursed and screamed repeatedly in front of other customers and toward the staff. Secondly, it was his first experience, not fifth. Lastly, he was so rude & disruptive that he was asked to leave. And for what, a pep pizza that was 10 minutes late!!!! phenomenal. Still the Best Pizza in Raleigh. The crew wants to help you - unless you are an angry, hypocritical sociopath. Pros: everything more

Too ""cool"" for its own good - bad customer service! 9/14/2008

Warning parents! Pros: Pizza is good and they use organic ingredients Cons: The worst customer service ever more

Awesome pizza, great ambiance, busy on weekend nights 6/23/2008

Lilly's pizza is amazing. The dough is awesome and they use a lot of really fresh, organic ingredients/toppings. The atmosphere is awesome, but can be loud and very crowded on weekends. I would not recommend taking kids unless it's during the week. The staff seems to be all over the place with service and attitude, but I think the food makes up for the staff problems. Definitely worth a try. Oh, there is ZERO parking so wear comfortable shoes to walk from wherever you end up parking. Pros: Amazing taste and ingredients Cons: No parking, loud, never an available table, somewhat rude staff more

Literally the best pizza in Raleigh. 4/5/2008

Great vegetarian toppings, organic veggies and dough, crazy fun atmosphere. I wouldn't dare do pizza night anywhere else! more

No words can explain how happy we were!! 3/17/2008

Their pizza was not only great, but we made a mistake and asked for delivery (when in fact we were picking it up). The poor delivery guy waited for us for 20 minutes and was very understanding. The pizza was still hot! Pros: delivery guy was awesome!! more

Fresh and Interesting! 2/22/2008

Lilly's offers a great atmosphere, delicious fresh ingredients and good service. I wish there were more restaurants in the triangle that offer all three with other kinds of food. Pros: Fresh ingredients and great experience Cons: Outdoor seating on Glenwood Ave more

Great Pizza !!!! 1/30/2008

The pizza is great, one of the best in Raleigh. Lilly's has a great selection of toppings. The atmosphere, people, and employs are eccentric, which is kind of cool and a nice change of scenery. If you like the garbage at Pizza Hut this is not your place. more

Great Pizza 1/27/2008

Awesome. A loud, lively, and crowded atmosphere only goes to show how much others enjoy the food and the restaurant. Jump in line, grab a seat, and enjoy some of the best pizza in town. GO TO LILLY'S! Pros: Awesome pizza and salads! Cons: None. more

Good Raleigh Pizza 1/5/2008

The pizza is very good, but New York style pizza lovers will be disappointed if you go expecting NY. It definitely has its own style-- the dough is thick, the cheese is very dense, and the sauce is a bit on the sweet side. Definitely recommended, although I don't think I would go as far as saying best in Raleigh. Pros: Fresh & organic Cons: sauce a bit sweet more

Great pizza, bad attitude 12/16/2007

The Cowtipper is a fantastic pizza, and the salads are great. However, they're kind of jerky when it comes to delivery. We got delivery no fewer than 4 times, then we called in an order and they said that there was a note saying that our house was now out of the delivery area. They deliver to the neighborhood just north of us and to the neighborhood just south of us. Hmmm. Their staff generally has a too-cool-for-school attitude, and they've never been friendly. Too bad. Pros: Delicious food Cons: Snottyness more

A total disaster in terms of customer service. 12/9/2007

This place is extremely loud, so forget about any meaningful conversation with your friends. Service is confusing, and it seems the employees don't care. The guy who took my order moved on to the next customer without giving me my drinks. I had to go back to the counter TWICE to get someone's attention so I could get my drinks. 30 minutes later, the first pizza on my order arrived. 30 minutes after that, the second pizza on the SAME ORDER still had not been put in the oven yet because ""someone lost the ticket."" How did they lose 1/2 of an electronic ticket? When I complained, the manager told me to ""come back when we aren't so busy."" No one ever bothered to say they were sorry about the way were treated. Don't worry; we won't be back. Ever. more

Great Service! 11/24/2007

A regular to this institution, I find the eclectic staff and surroundings an interesting and tasteful variance from the chains. The staff has ALWAYS taken extra care with my orders! I'll definitely return and grab a dante's inferno! Pros: Interesting Art, Eclectic Staff, DELICIOUS Pizza Cons: Parking, Noisy more
