Service is in-consistent; tires generally good service. Front end alignment is a gamble at best. I have been a customer since 1992 for tires mostly however I have tried their front-end alignment service and that is when it is a gamble. Out of 4 times, 3 I have had poor service, only once was the service performed reasonable. Take your chance and be prepared for anything but mostly frustration, waste of time and waste of money. I wrote them a letter stating my recent experience of having a frame part purposely loosened to simulate broken engine mounts and they did not respond at all. The reason I can state it was done on purpose was the front end made so much noise when I applied the brakes I was afraid to drive back, instead too my car to the nearest auto repair shop I knew off and they told me the frame cross member was lose, this has never happened ever in the 23 years of owning my car! more

They're all about service! 4/25/2008

I have been to several Les Schwab's in Portland, including their Barbur & Powell locations. A couple times I have gone in with a flat tire (which I did not purchase from them) and they fixed it for free! They didn't try to sell me anything, and their service was just as fast as it was for the people who were spending hundreds of dollars on tires! Pros: Fast, friendly service and honesty! Cons: Some prices are higher for tires, but their guarantee is the best, so it's worth it! more

Ya just have to experience Les Schwab Tires to believe it. 4/21/2008

It seems like everybody has their Les Schwab story. Here's just one of mine. I bought some new, very expensive Yokohama tires at a competitor. I had a slow leak in one of the tires. Pain in the neck. Well, Les Schwab Tires was not that far from our house in Westlake, Lake Oswego. So, I took my car there, fully prepared to pay them to fix it. They checked and said the valve stem was obviously the one from the original factory tires; i.e. the dealer I bought the tires at didn't replace them when they changed my tires. The leak was in the valve stem. So, the guys at Les Schwab change out the valve stem and rebalance the tire just to be sure it's squared away. They wouldn't let me pay for it. Six months later, I bought some outstanding Toyo Open Country H/T tires for my wife's Yukon. They weren't the cheapest tires around, but after driving all the way to our new home in Texas I can tell you the tires worked great in rain, snow, and hot dry pavement. And, they are wearing great. I only wish that Les Schwab was in Texas. Pros: Range of good to very good tires. Incredible service. Fast. Zero quibbling on warranties. Cons: Not the cheapest. Their best prices are on tires like Toyo they mostly have an exclusive on. more

Very friendly and fast 4/19/2008

I originally went in to have a tire rotation and was told my tires didn't have much time left on them. Keep in mind I got there at 5:30 PM and didn't expect them to have the time for my tire rotation much less for all new tires to be put on since they close at 6 PM. But they said they did! So I now have great tires on my car and the care and customer service was great!!! Pros: Smiles and helpfulness more

Worst experience ever 10/20/2007

I will never visit a Les Schwab again, and I advise you do the same. When we resurrected our '99 Beetle from years of inactivity, we had taken it to this Les Schwab for a new battery. They charged us $90, and we were on our way. We occasionally had some battery issues, but they were usually resolved with a jump. Yesterday, ten months after we had purchased the battery, it suddenly would not start. Jump starting it did not work. After communicating with Les Schwab, we paid for a tow truck to take it there. Turned out that they had never actually replaced the battery - it was still using the original purchase one. I am just disgusted with them. Cons: Inability to do their job more

Been using for years and I won't change! 8/15/2005

If you're from the Pacific North West and haven't used Les Schwab I would recommend it to anyone! They have friendly customer service (people who know what they're talking about) and they are usually very quick at changing tires. They have other services too. They carry a lifetime warrenty on their tires and they have even patched up my non-Schwab tires. Check them out! PROS: great service from people who care CONS: more

Quick and friendly service 6/5/2005

This is one of those stores where the people really do come running. The staff is friendly and is always willing to check your vehicle to be sure nothing is wrong. I have taken my car there for second opinions and they are happy to help. I have purchased both sets of tires (the first lasted about five years) and the convenience of having the free rotations gives me piece of mind. more

Unbeatable service 8/4/2004

After a long work day, I got to my car and saw I had a flat. I called AAA and they put my spare tire on. I called Les Schwab on Lower Boones Ferry at 6:10 p.m. and asked what time they closed. Kelly told me, ""We closed at 6:00, but can we help you with something?"" Long story short....I got there at 6:20 and they took my car in, and 20 minutes later I was on the road. No charge! So, they stayed 40 minutes after closing to help me and took no money. Outstanding! Pros: Customers is #1, Fast Service, Courteous more
