best hang out place for girlfriends 5/19/2008

We love to come here with my girlfriends to chit-chat while we have some amazing wine and very delicious salads and cheeses. We come at least once a week and the time we spend here is always so much fun. This wine bar is actually one of the few places where you can carry a good conversation because you don't get interrupted by too loud music or weird people. The bartenders are really great and knowledgeable! more

This place isn't expensive at all, considering the neighborhood and the crowd it draws. I always enjoy myself whenever I go here and it's just great. I met some pretty strange and interesting people here, and would say I have had some of the best conversations with friends at this bar. I am from France and traditionally we are wine lovers. There are amazing wine bars in France, however Lelabar is one of the best I have visited. The bar merges the fancy, high-end wine atmosphere with New Yorkers fun spirit, which makes the place so unique. The quality is the best both in wines and food. Try their great mini chocolates in different flavors, they are yummy. Pros: Unique in many ways Cons: None whatsoever more

What a cute wine bar! I had an awsome time at my girlfriends party and this place has excellent roses! I wish they had tables outside. It would be nice to have few glasses at summer nights. However, loved everything about Lelabar and the sommeliers are very professional with lots of knowledge about wine. more

Lelabar is an excellent spot to hang out from the afternoon till night. In the afternoon the place is a little more relaxed, mostly people visit after work for a few glasses of wine and at night there's more vibe and parties. Very nicely decorated bar, trendy and cozy. Prices are reasonable and quality is the best. more

  • The Scene:
    Lelabar is an elegant but casual wine room located on Hudson Street in the vibrant West Village neighborhood in Manhattan. Our bar is simply and tastefully designed with warm tones, tin ceilings and custom iron work. The space is anchored by the large oval bar where patrons gather to enjoy fine wines, delicious fare, and intimate atmosphere. A central chalkboard informs our guests of daily wine and food specials, upcoming events and wine flights. Behind our bar you will find one or more of our team of passionate sommeliers who are all well experienced in matching wine and people. The entire wine list is available by the glass with a purchase of two glasses from that bottle. Wine tastings are every Sunday at 4PM RSVP ionly as we set places in advance. 6 wines, 6 pairings and good canversation. 60$ per seat. RSVP to: andrew@lelabar.com
