very cozy wine bar with great merlots 8/25/2009

This bar has a very cozy, comfortable feeling. The wine is fantastic. I had a great Dom de la patience merlot from France during happy hours. It's great that you can buy wine by the glass and not having to pay for the whole bottle. The Hungarian salami was delicious! Pros: merlot Cons: nothing more

I am a regular customer at Lelabar and they just started offering brunch on Saturdays and Sundays. They do a great job at it with great varieties of food and wine. excellent smoked salmon! They are always great and can't expect anything less. more

Beautiful selection of wines and cheeses 6/30/2009

This is a wine bar with all that i need...that is excellent wine and cheese. I come here often and I had really great white and red wines, which they offer from many countries from around the world. France, California, Germany, Italy just to mention a few. To pair this they have great Artisanal cheeses-cow, goat, sheep anything you can desire. more

This is a wine bar with all that i need...that is excellent wine and cheese. I come here often and I had really great white and red wines, which they offer from many countries from around the world. France, California, Germany, Italy just to mention a few. To pair this they have great Artisanal cheeses-cow, goat, sheep anything you can desire. more

this is a really beautifully decorated casual and at the same time elegant bar. I was impressed on the variety of wine selection they have. Also you can buy wine by the glass which is excellent for me and anyone who is adventurous and likes to try new varieties. they have great brie and ham panninis and salamis. Oh, and i am planning to take one of their wine classes,which they also offer! Such a small place with so many positive attributes!! Pros: wine, food more

One of the few places where one can come over and over again. I like red wines and all that i tried at Lelabar was excellent. they constantly renew their menu, which is great for someone like me, who likes to come here often. more

Lelabar is an excellent place to rewind and enjoy yourself after a hard day of work. and you need this in todays economic environment. They offer really great wines (reds, whites, from different countries from the world). Plus they have great food to nibble on next your glass of pinot grigio or cabarnet sauvignon :) more

Wonderful cozy winebar. I brought my mother to Lelabar. She lives in Chicago and visits a few times to New York. She loves wine and was absolutely blown away by the service and variety of wines. She already has her ""reservation"" for this place next time she returns. more

How nice is to see that a place constantly renewing its menu and adding new items. Lelabar does it. We just tried their amazing caviar and oysters. It goes very well with sparkling wine. And some of their chocolates after in interesting flavors such as sesame, lime, caramel. Pros: changing menu more

cozy neighborhood wine bar 1/25/2009

Lelabar has such a great variety of wines (red and white) from all over the world that you need many many visits to try them all. All I tried so far are just really good wines. With my husband we always stop by for a glass of wine. At Lelabar almost all of the bottles can be purchased by the glass which is very convenient for us who drink one glass at a time.   • The Scene:
    Lelabar is an elegant but casual wine room located on Hudson Street in the vibrant West Village neighborhood in Manhattan. Our bar is simply and tastefully designed with warm tones, tin ceilings and custom iron work. The space is anchored by the large oval bar where patrons gather to enjoy fine wines, delicious fare, and intimate atmosphere. A central chalkboard informs our guests of daily wine and food specials, upcoming events and wine flights. Behind our bar you will find one or more of our team of passionate sommeliers who are all well experienced in matching wine and people. The entire wine list is available by the glass with a purchase of two glasses from that bottle. Wine tastings are every Sunday at 4PM RSVP ionly as we set places in advance. 6 wines, 6 pairings and good canversation. 60$ per seat. RSVP to: andrew@lelabar.com
