A great experience 11/22/2010

I have been going to Leith Honda for several years now. When buying a Honda, they have always treated very fairly and made me feel that my business was appreciated. I always take my cars their to get serviced also. Again, the staff is very friendly and always go above and beyond to make sure that I am a satisfied customer. I would highly recommend this dealer to anyone that is interested in buying a car or getting their car serviced more

Very Good Buying Experience 10/15/2010

I bought a Honda Certified used car recently from Leith Honda in Raleigh. The sales person (Mr. Doug Swords) was very friendly and very courteous to me. I had visited the dealership twice, before I bought the car. Mr. Swords was always polite and friendly. I would definitely recommend Mr. Swords to any one looking to buy a vehicle from Leith Honda. more

Very happy customer of Leith Mercedes Benz service dept 12/24/2009

I don't work for Leith and have no affiliation with them. I've dealt with them twice recently and wanted to share my experienced wth them (both positive). The first time, my battery died and I called Mercedes to see about getting a jump start. (AAA wouldn't even jump start my car when they came out and just wanted to sell me a battery.) Mercedes USA ended up sending out a driver from Leith Mercedes who jump started my car. They also brought a few gallons of fuel because my tank was low and they wanted to make sure that I wouldn't have problems getting to the closest gas station. The whole time the person who came out was professional, friendly and understanding. He didn't make me feel like an idiot for leaving my lights on an draining my battery.\r \r Based on this first experience, I decided to bring my Mercedes in for another problem I was having with the tire pressure monitoring system. I was apprehensive, having seen the low rating for Leith but I'm glad I gave them a chance. I had taken my car to Mercedes Benz in Cary for the same problem as well as taking it to an independent mechanic. After explaining that I had installed some non-Mercedes (but OEM) parts in my car, Mercedes Benz of Cary wouldn't even look at it without replacing everything with expensive Mercedes parts. (And I'm an owner that would not buy a generic battery from AAA because it didn't say Mercedes on it.)\r \r When I took it in to Leith Mercedes in Raleigh they seemed like they actually wanted to fix my problem, and they made me feel like they appreciated my business! (Wow, what a concept.) Even talking to someone on the phone was a much better experience talking to Leith Mercedes compared to Mercedes of Cary. The folks at Leith were more polite and just seemed more professional. \r \r They ended up keeping my car for about 2 hours. They fixed the tire monitoring problem that Mercedes of Cary wouldn't even look at. I sat in their lounge and surfed the internet with their free Wifi and tried to avoid eating the free donuts. In the end, they only charged me for 1 hour of diagnostics when they could have justified charging me 2 hours. Their repair rates are slightly higher than a local garage I use (they should be!) but Leith fixed a problem that even my independent shop couldn't diagnose or fix. Without me asking, they did put a quote together for some recommended service which was rather expensive, but it was after I said that I only had the car for a few months and didn't know the last time it was serviced. They didn't try to pressure me into agreeing to do the other service work they quoted me. I don't mind a dealership trying to get more business if they are honest and not pushy about it.\r \r I know this review might sound like it was written by someone from the dealership, but I'm just a *very* happy customer. I recognize that not every interaction with them will be positive, but I just needed to share my recent experience. I would definitely come here again for service. I cannot say that for several other places that I have taken my car to recently. more

They Lied To Me!!!! 10/9/2009

I went in to purchase a new car with CASH. I wanted to purchase with cash and NOT finance beacuse know what my credit looks like. They were well aware of my cash intention, but insisted on running my credit. I told them again that there was no need and I was going to pay in cash. They said the credit check was just to make sure I am who I say I am. They came back and said they were not going to be able to accept my personal check due to my credit. This means they told me an out right LIE about why they wanted to see my credit. After 6 phone calls and 3 emails to the general manager, I have been totally ignored. STAY AWAY unless you dont care about good customer service and LIARS dont bother you. more

Does not listen to Customers 6/13/2009

Moving to NC, I specifically asked them to look for things I needed to do for the vehicle to pass inspections. Despite their being an inspection place themselves, I failed to pass inspection on an easily fixed problem: a red cover to a rear light had to be replaced (either bought from them or from a crashed vehicle/junkyard). Since they failed to bring this to my attention, and instead suggested a whole slew of other things - none needed for the inspection - I looked in a junkyard and thankfully found one. I'd had to replace the catalytic converter and didn't need other unnecessary work performed, but simply needed to make sure I could pass the inspection. Don't trust advice from these guys, and don't trust them to do what you ask them to do. I will get my service done elsewhere until I need to buy, and then I will do that elsewhere as well, tho I love my Honda. more

Horrid 9/25/2008

Leith Honda has to be one of the worst and poorly managed businesses in the automotive industry. If you are given any information by phone by these unreliable crooks make sure you write down the name of the person who gave it to you first and last. Management response to problems is going to be extremely non-helpful and anywhere from arrogant to insulting on the scale of how customers should not be treated. I filed a formal complaint against them with the State Attorney General and with Honda itself due to the way I was treated by their staff and management. I cannot recommend more that if you have to have a car serviced DO NOT take it to this place. You will regret it I can assure you. Cons: Not enough space here. more

The Most Arrogant Finance Manager! 8/15/2008

I have never met a more arrogant, dishonest, careless finance manager, he appeared not to care about the customer whatsoever. He does not understand the meaning of customer service! more

Great Service 12/18/2007

We purchased a 2006 Z4 from Leith BMW in August 06. The whole experience was very smooth. We are very happy with the Sales and the Service departments. more

Don't Waste Your Time and Keep Right on Driving 1/5/2007

I recently purchased a BMW from Leith and while I could not be happier with the automobile itself, I cannot, in good conscience recommend Leith BMW to others. \r \r I live in Charlotte, but Leith was the closest dealership that had the car I wanted. So, I made the trip to Raleigh for the sole purpose of purchasing an automobile from Leith. Prior to arriving at the dealership, I had already picked the automobile, completed a credit application and was prepared to negotiate the terms of the sale. When I arrived, I was presented with a bill of sale that contained the full asking price. When I refused to pay the asking price for the automobile, I was treated very disrespectfully and had to involve the manager to finish the negotiations. \r \r Luckily, I was able to complete the sale and pay a fair and reasonable price for the car. However, the entire situation was unnecessary and the original salesman was rude and offensive. It is beyond me why some car dealers insist on playing endurance games. I was immediately upfront with the price I was willing to pay for the car and it should not have taken several hours and a manager to get it!\r Pros: great inventory and great product Cons: salesman and staff more

Dishonest 12/19/2006

The service department told me that the brake problem I was having was wear and tear. My Honda Accord has less than 10,000 miles and needed the rotors replaced. This is after we had to take it in right after buying it because of brake problems. They are crooks - never take your car there for service or buy a car from them. more

EXCELLENT SERVICE 11/9/2006

In response to spamthis77. I think you are misinformed about Honda service bulletin 03-038. If you did the research you claimed you did you would know the following.\r You experienced misfire codes due to the exhaust valves being too tight. In some rare cases the valves and/or seats can sink into the cylinder head. A valve adjustment is a temporary fix. You will need a cylinder head in the near future.\r You mentioned you paid $270.00 for a valve adjustment. WOW ! Leith Honda only charges $88.00. \r I've been a loyal Leith Honda customer for over 15 years. They service both of my Hondas . I'm a demanding customer who likes the ""nuts and Bolts"" about cars. If you are going to slam someone , at least do your homework. If you start saving now you may be able to buy your new cylinder head when your check engine light comes back on.\r Pros: great hours, friendly people more

Dishonest Mechanics - Will Rob Unsuspecting Customers 10/14/2006

Took our 2000 Honda CRV for check engine light. Told us we needed to spend $3500 to get cylinder head replaced. Said they did not know the cause, but the mechanic wanted the car and would purchase it from us. We declined and took the CRV to another Honda dealership in Bennettsville SC. They readjusted the valve for $270 (per a service bulliten issued by Honda), resolving the problem. Also, 15 minutes of research on the internet showed that receding valves are a common problem for CRV's made around this year - highly doubt they've never seen this. Either Leith Honda's mechanics and service team are dishonest or incompetent. I will never do any business with this company. Pros: Friendly Cons: Liars more

Exceptionally poor repair service 7/25/2006

Told me I had thousands of $$$ worth of ""needed upcoming repairs."" Went to other mechanics to get a second opinion and got a clean bill of health. Typical of dealers. Won't be back. Pros: The store is clean Cons: Service at the repair shop is worst I have been to in the Triangle more
