Exquisite French Cuisine in NoHo 1/27/2009

This place had the all around package: from a beautiful chateau ambience to delicious food to nice service waiters. What more could you ask for. Yes, this place may be a bit pricey, but it's definitely a place for nice occasions and you're sure to enjoy yourself. The food is exquisite. I had the half duck and I couldn't decide whether to choose the cherry or orange glaze, so the waitress gave me a full dose of both. The sauces are so rich and tasty. My partner ordered a delicious filet minon wrapped in a pastry.....mmmhmmm...so rich. The best part for me were the complimentary liver pate on their lightly buttered and toasted french bread. Truly to die for. Pros: Authentic French cuisine, ambience Cons: a bit pricey more

HORRIFIC SERVICE 1/18/2009

Worst service I have ever experienced. First, we called ahead to ask questions about a gift certificate. We were told to call back to talk to a manager. We did and they assured us there would be no problem with our certificates. Of course right away there was a problem, made worse by the owners insistence that no body would ever tell us that on the phone. So basically he's calling me a liar within 5 minutes of walking into the place. Nice. Then we say down and it took them 15-20 minutes before we even got menus. Did I mention this place was DEAD for a saturday night? The waitress never filled our glasses of water once, thankfully we flagged down another waitress who helped us out. It took a half hour for 3 medium wellington's and one beef medallion to be served. And they forgot the sauce for the wellington, the waitress brought it out after 2 of us were already done eating and didn't really care at all. We ended up not using our gift certificates so we didn't have to tip 18%, instead we left $6 for a check of $182. Hope they get the message. Save your money for a place that deserves it. Worst service ever, felt like we were at a Chili's or something. Pros: food tasted decent if you don't mind waiting and if you dont mind having terrible service Cons: service, service, service more

I can't believe that the reviews here are ""real"". You can't call this expensive place Pros: great location, its been there awhile so you think it MUST be good? right? Cons: very expensive for not good food more

Stunning Food and Service 6/10/2008

You know things are a bit different when, on the way in, the doors are all labeled in French. Inside, you pass the bar and are seated in a room filled with charming ambience. The lighting, appropriately subdued. The service, impeccable. We ordered from the Tuesday special, printed separately from the menu and only +/- $27 for soup/salad, main course, and dessert, augmented by a menu item or two. Pros: Lighting, Service, Ambience, Food Cons: not free more

Romantic atmosphere for a quiet, leisurely dinner w/ friends or a special someone 9/28/2007

One of my favorite restaurants. Pricey but worth it. Wonderful appetizers (escargot, salads, etc). Beef Wellington, lamb chops, are always made exactly to order. Specials & fish are excellent. Great bernaise sauces. Start with a cocktail, incredible range of martinis & they don't water the drinks. Home baked French bread, unsalted butter and save room for fantastic desserts. Creme brulee, flourless chocolate cake. Wonderful older waitress, don't blame the wait staff for the slow busboy service. I've eaten here 1--2 a year for the past 5 years & have never been disappointed. We have never done the wine tasting dinners, but for wine lovers, they are terrific. Highly recommended. NOT for children. more

I had dinner at the LePetit Chateau last night, my first experience with this fine restaurant it want be my last ,we had the most delicious dinner the braised lamb shank was delicious the service was great and the atmosphere was very elegant and comfortable Pros: Great Ambience professional parking service and good service more

I agree it is not worth the $$$ 9/14/2006

There is little reason to patronize a dated and overpriced restaurant like Petit Chateau anymore, particularly when so many excellent choices are available where management strives for customer satisfaction, rather than seeing the customer, and possibly even the staff, as their innocent prey. Pros: Convenient location, valet parking, cosy awning over entry in case of rain. Cons: Overpriced, dated decor, below average food and portions. Better alternates in area. more

Don't waste your $$$ 8/4/2006

My wife and I dine all the time and for some reason one night we made one of our worst decisions of our lives. The inside of the place is stuck in the 70's, they need to refurnish ASAP. The waitresses look like Flo from Alice. There was hardly anyone in this place. The food was the worst French food I have ever had and not to mention the rude service. It's easy to spend $100 + in the this joint. The drinks are small. We had a couple of martinis in the smallest martiniy glasses I have ever seen. I rather donate $100 to a charity and eat a good hamburger. On second thought they don't need to replace the furniture they should call it mel's Diner. STAY AWAY! Cons: The food and the service more

Most romantic restaurant in town 7/2/2006

i have been going to this restaurant for years now. this is by far the best restaurant i have ever been to. the service is superior. the owners are lovely. it is very romantic!! be prepared to spend about $100 for 2 for dinner, but well worth it. everything on the menu taste amazing. they also have wine pairings about every 6 weeks...they are the best. i would highly recomend this place if you are looking for a romantic evening out. there is also vallet in the rear, so no worring about parking. i can't rave enough about this place. i have been to most of the high end restaurants in town and they all pale in comparison. make sure to call and make reservations!! Pros: service is amazing!!! food is amazing, and ambience is sooo romantic more
