Bad Customer Service 3/2/2011

Stopped in today to schedule appt. said to woman sitting at the front desk(glasses/greasy looking hair) I need to make a appt. for next Thurs. she looks at me and says for what? Hello - thought I was at the eye doctor! I said for my eye appt. She asks me what ins. I have and I couldn't remember right off the bat. She started to huff reminded me of a wild animal. My husband said to just ignore her she seems like something is wrong w/her. I don't care that's noway to treat someone who pays a portion of your salary by coming there. Needless to say I will be canceling that appt. more

Friendly staff 11/30/2010

I can say that my experiences with the staff have only been good ones. They have always been friendly to me and my family members that have visited the office. Dr. Starsenic is always ready for a chat and will take the time to answer any of your questions and find the best solutions for you. The prices of the frames are a different story....I ended up going to this little place across the Childrens Hospital and Frank the owner is my new best friend. He hooked me up with a pair of D&G's that cost me less than what I would have had to pay at Lawrenceville for an ""ok"" looking pair even after going through my insurance! more

Super Selection, Great Staff! 5/29/2010

My friend recommended this place and boy was she right. The doctor was soooo nice and patient. The staff was fun, strong opinions about what looked good, but that's what they do for a living. The frame I liked was actually more expensive than the frame the guy showed me and the less expensive frame actually did look better! They were very knowledgeable about my insurance and helped me get a great pair of glasses w/ out breaking the bank. I would definitely recommend this place. Pros: Over 1000 frames-Fun Staff-Great Doctor Cons: Parking more

great doctor, cool selection 8/7/2009

Dr. Starsenic was really knowledgeable and kind. she listened well & explained my options and prescription well. She didn't seem rushed and was willing to answer any questions I have. I also picked out my frames with dilated eyes, but it didn't bother me. I found very stylish frames without an overwhelming array of glasses like you find in some places. I don't really like having 10 pairs of glasses by different manufacturers that are almost identical except for some minor difference. I think the guy who fits the glasses is not your typical care provider...kind of artsy. The rest of the staff chimed in on my choice. I didn't experience an over long wait for my glasses like the other reviewers. Overall a very friendly place, good care and good experience Pros: doctor is wonderful, selection of glasses, not a chain Cons: parking more

Ok doctor & Poor, Poor, Poor Selection 12/5/2008

The frame selection is POOR. I previously lived in a rural community that had more ""name brand"" frame selection. Pros: Close to home Cons: Poor selection more

lacks customer service, but the doctor is very good 3/2/2007

I had nearly the same response as the last reviewer. The doctor was very good, very helpful and I was happy with her. However, once it came time to choose glasses, I was surprised by their lack of men's frames. A few rows of men's frames and several shelves of women's frames. I finally found a pair I liked, and was told it would be 7-10 business days. That was 3 weeks ago. When I called last week, I was told that they should be in on Tuesday or Wednesday of this week, and no such luck. Based on the customer service, I doubt I would go back. Pros: good doctor, lots of parking Cons: small selection, long wait time with poor customer service more

Great doctor, disliked the eyeglasses specialist 11/20/2006

I liked Dr. Staresinic as a person. She is an ultimate frisbee player so their clinic contributes financial support to the Pittsburgh Ultimate community. There were two unpleasant things that happened such that I would never go back there again. The first thing might be due to my miscommunication with the doctor. There are these eye drops they put in your eyes that make them dilate and they become very sensitive to sunlight for a couple hours. I thought I had received these drops before so I responded that I had this done before. After I left the clinic, my eyes were unbearably senstive to the sunlight. Second is that while they had these dilation drops in my eyes, they had me pick out eyeglass frames to purchase with their ""eyeglasses specialist"". So while my eyes were dilating and unable to focus, this guy was trying to sell me the most expensive frames. And when I indicated that I just wanted something simple (and cheap), he kept poo-poo-ing my choices with disdain. It was really annoying and made it difficult to make a good decision. When I picked up my glasses 3 weeks later, I realized they didn't even put the anti-reflective coating on the glasses that I had ordered, so I will need to work that out with them. more
