I was very excited to see a newly remodeled dental office a block away from my home. I wanted to go there. I made several appointments with Laska Dental. All was well, I suppose. I'd get my co-pay bill in the mail, and pay it at my next appointment. It just became 'routine' I guess. \r

Well, I too, was charged for their so called ""double cleaning"", which they made me think was MY teeth's fault, I had NO idea I was to get billed for it months later. But, sure enough, I did. So, I did see the statements they sent, I just figured, I should really make an appointment and pay it. So I decide to open the last statement, and there it is hand written: ""WE HAVE BEEN THROUGH THIS BEFORE, PAY IN FULL NOW OR WE WILL CONTACT OUT COLLECTION ATTORNEY"" Then, I see in my mailbox a certified letter to pick up at the post office. REALLY!?!?!? I am not going to the post office to pick up the same letter that I just read. So, instead of making an appointment to come back (EVER!) I sent my check IN FULL, with a note explaining how I thought it was rude and judgemental to threaten me with this ""we've been down this road before"" stuff, and to please take me off any client lists, as I will not be back. I also said, ""WOW! This is the way you treat people for $72, thank gosh my bill wasn't $300, I can't imagine the treatment I'd get then"".\r
Long story short..They got their $72.31. I was thinking, maybe my letter would open someone's eyes around there, that the customer service aspect was lacking. NOPE! I check my mail today, and low and behold: another statement for 71 CENTS, 72 CENTS and a $5.54 charge for a certified letter, that i did not even pick up, sign for, read, etc. \r
I'm just wondering if possible a PHONE CALL stating my $72 was end all, be all for this business would've sufficed, instead of the unecessary postage? Maybe?\r
Sorry for the rant, but I am just suprised that a usually pleasant office could have such lack of tact for their patients. Actually, a FORMER patient. I hope that ""collection attorney"" has the know how to tell them that they should just eat their own postage.
Pros: modern, quiet, friendly hygentists
Cons: lacks tact, judgmental, assuming, condescending
